The Economics of Extinction: Phytoplankton
Переглядів 1593 роки тому
As the tragic situation in India unfolds, we wondered: what's Earth's oxygen worth? In Chapter 8 we look at phytoplankton. Microscopic marine organisms that make more oxygen than every tree on Earth. And climate change is decimating them. Scientists estimate it'll cost $174.5 billion/year to save the oceans (and phytoplankton) from climate change, that's less than 0.002% of global GDP. That doe...

The Economics of Extinction: Insects
Переглядів 633 роки тому
In Chapter 7, we look at bugs. They're the most plentiful creatures on Earth - at nearly 10 quintillion. Largely seen as pests, we spend $240 billion annually eradicating them. So what's the problem? We've been too effective. Insect numbers have plummeted by 50% since 1970, putting at risk thousands of species, including humans. How many more bugs can we afford to lose? No one knows. That's the...

The Economics of Extinction: Bees
Переглядів 1003 роки тому
In Chapter 6, we look at bees. They are responsible for far more than honey. The world’s 20,000 species of bees pollinate up to 90% of the food crops we rely on. And their populations are collapsing. What’s the real cost as bees go extinct? That's the economics of extinction. Follow us on social media for more updates: Official website: www.btcn.tv/ Instagram: btcnasia Facebook: ...
The Economics of Extinction: Elephants
Переглядів 1663 роки тому
In Chapter 5, we look at elephants. Their numbers have fallen 90% in the last 100 years. Why? Simple, poaching. What are they worth? Roughly $4.2 billion - for the ivory of every elephant left on Earth. But what's the real cost if we lose them to poaching? The Economics of Extinction: Bats
Переглядів 403 роки тому
In Chapter 4, we look at bats. Why bats? Bats have long been objects of superstition and fear. Things have only gotten worse during the pandemic. The truth is, bats are invaluable as our single-best source of 100% organic pest control. Just in the US, they're worth an estimated $53 billion to agrobusiness alone. Scale that up globally, and bats could be worth trillions. The problem is, habitat ...

The Economics of Extinction: Coral Reefs

You just can’t have a both a creation cosmopolitan society and keeping tradition and culture of community relationship with nature cause any time you bring change to the status code then there is a price to pay. You just got to be real.🤑

Another liar in the long chain of smoke vendors as exist in our world, Simonetta not only claims to have direct chat with the extraterrestrials but they allegedly told her that the earth is round and that Carl Sagan was a prophet in spite of the writer expressing his views that someday they may discovered dinosaur bones in the moon.

Just a new glass to drink it out of would make it easier lol the current snifter glass is kind of a turn off, so some other more inviting glass would be good… plus mix it with coke, diet or zero…

Rwanda should be an example for all African nations that they should have an own ' Yes we can ' attitude (with less aid from Europe or USA) to develope each of these countries. Since this is a land locked country they should work close together with Tanzania & Kenia to have a railway connection with Mombassa & Dar es Salaam port in order to unlock the hinterland of all countries involved and also lower transport cost for export & import products. No one (here in Europe) could imagine about the way this country has rised after the genocide of the early 90ties of the last century, and where this country stands now. This could only be done with good leadership of mr Paul Kagame who is a brilliant person with a goal and a vision for his country. Let he be an example for all future African leaders to show the world (and former colonizers) that the children of Mama Africa can take care of their own ! The same like far before all these colonizers had heard of Africa or set one foot on the African soil.

And 2ndly; = "The (former/previous)_ Invasion(s)!!"?? That is my view.

Keep it up Rwanda. I think Rwanda and Burundi should be Africa's capital centres. They are both in the middle of Afric. Hard to get to in case if war or invasion. Mountainous lots if water and smart people with a history of forgiveness and now working together. Plus it's close to the richest piece of land on the planet. If a central bank is established there then all the gold silver etc can be stored away from ports and can be shipped out just enough to provide imports funds.
