    Do you see how its counter sunk on the doors to reach the measurements. A door handle on each side reduced those #'s over 7". This seems the closest I have seen. Lots of Hotshots todays date still think they can just sleep in the back of their pickup. Or are just logging off duty hours and flying under radar. At the same time, many people are still getting tickets left and right. I have heard you need a CLEAR path to the Driver seat while in the sleeper? how is that strap helping that?

    buy a trailer that is cheap Amd a quality trailer- you can have your trailer builder derate your trailer on the vin tag- or you can derate with a vin tag bought online. Guys do it everyday.

    Didn’t matter what the law is in any state- except what your licensing state is- in Florida, you can drive a 80k air brakes semi truck k- if it is registered as an RV or a Motorsports carrier. A standard driver license is legal. It is the LAW. And all states are required to go by the laws in the state of registration! FloRida and AZ allow very dark front window Tint. When we drive into Californikstan with a AZ plate And dark tint- It is legal. The laws of the registered state are recuperating with others. Otherwise your driver license from AZ would only be legal in AZ-

    The only practical use I could see for this is if you're team driving. Which if you're hotshotting...why? But all of this is spending money unnecessarily. I hotshot with an F350 crew cab with no mods to the backseat and have never had an issue. All you have to do is log off duty

    Curt now makes a 5th wheel adapter to go into their gooseneck under-bed hitch setup, so you can easily (although a little costly) have both worlds, and still keep a clean bed floor with the hitch removed.

    One Fleet owner that I know of he runs aluminum tanks in the bed of his trucks but he also runs a gout ground strap Stihl chain off the back of his truck or static discharge as is going down the highway it's never double Overkill if it saves your life and keeps you legal PS all it takes is one. A cop or Trooper having a bad day find a steel tank in your truck bed for transfer and fuel it's a hefty fine and he will put you out of commission this is not just my opinion these are the facts and the laws I've already experienced it the cheaper wrapped resin buying these 14 1500 $2,000 fuel tanks to put in your truck bed nice aluminum ones go to junkyard by 150 gallon tank off of a semi tractor build an appropriate rack to hold it in place with padding and rubber grommets this will give you a hundred 50 gallons minus 10% for expansion and it's a lot cheaper than the pretty square and rectangular thanks I mean they're nice but who's got a couple thousand dollars for a hundred gallon tank

  • @homermcclain7694
    @homermcclain7694 5 років тому

    The reason the DOT approved tanks are aluminum is because of luminum does not build up static electricity when refueling equipment or your trucks from that tank the way our company stayed in business was we had to put a ground cable from the fuel nozzle and ground it 10 feet away from the truck you're dismissed also had to put a drag chain on the truck itself as a static discharge this was illegal an OSHA approved by the state of Texas all together is still a pain in the ass this happened because another Corporation we're doing the same thing just like a farmer and filled out there that feeling from a steel tank static charge build-up and it exploded killing some people that is why you can only carry an aluminum tank on the highway

  • @homermcclain7694
    @homermcclain7694 5 років тому

    Cuz we found out in a construction company back in the 90s we had over 200 fleets which meant we hauled a lot of auxiliary fuel in each crew true leaders truck and they were steel tanks

    I’ve got a brand new ATI aluminum DOT certified transfer tank for gas. The issue is that the majority of tanks are not rated for explosive liquids. The tanks rated for explosive liquids have baffles that stop the shifting of the liquids and fatigue of the welds whereas the others do not. I know you’re using diesel but going with a tank with baffles IMHO is the way to go.

    I believe the 10k is if you are class B you can only have a trailer hooked to your truck that is under 10k before it jumps to class A combination rules

    • @miamisasquatch

      Nope. Class B is no towed vehicle. 10k trailer payload rating and jumps you from class C to A immediately.

    Sleepers save money and are way better then the hard ass bench seat i asked the dot about it since everyones saying u cant sleep in your truck without a sleeper what dot told me is basically they dont care you just can't log it as sleeper birth since there technically isnt one but as i was told if your off duty as in not working as in driving you can do whatever you like i do recommend a sleeper tho million times more comfortable and cheaper

    Lol, this guy is hilarious. Its pretty funny to see what the bottom feeders have to go through to make .25 per mile per car. Your not a hotshot if your pulling cars from central dispatch, your simply a car hauler. Real hotshots work for the oil industry and we dont us loadboards.

    • @og6340
      @og6340 5 років тому

      MerlinxPV that’s bs I’ve went through a ton of scales and that’s not the case . You can haul fur hire with no cdl

    • @Peter-V_00
      @Peter-V_00 5 років тому

      @@og6340 Think as you like, you need a DOT number to haul for hire legally, when you go through scales they run your DOT number and you better have a CDL and a current medical card, if you're hauling for hire without a DOT number you are illegal, you just haven't been caught yet. I had a class A-X license for 40 years and am quite sure I'm telling it straight.

    • @og6340
      @og6340 5 років тому

      MerlinxPV wrong wrong wrong you add your truck weight and trailer weight then you scale it and subtract what you weight and that’s how you get your freight amount which is usually around 11 and some change to 12 k . I’m not sure where your at but I have ran coast to coast and never had a problem as a non cdl hotshot driver and I’m just one of thousands that’s run a non cdl hotshot driver . Don’t believe go ask tow piglet and a few more guys on yt that run non cdl drivers .

    • @og6340

      I’ve held conversations with so many dot officers from different states and they all acknowledge the non cdl drivers . All we need is dot card , eld , and pass level 1 truck inspection . With a valid drivers license. I been hotshot hailing almost 2 years and although I’m about to get cdl I have not been forced to get them as long as I’m under regulations of 26001
