In 1995, "LEGO Fun To Build" was released for the SEGA Pico, a very popular kids' console in Japan that was not quite as well known and successful in Europe and America. The game was Japan exclusive and featured several minigames set in the beloved LEGO themes of the time: Town, Aquazone, Castle and Space (Spyrius and Ice Planet 2002).
The game is not only special because of the time it was released, but also because the SEGA Pico itself was special. It was mostly controlled with a stylus similar to the ones used in early graphics tablets. The player could switch between the different themes of the game at any time by simply turning a page on the game cartridge that looked like a storybook.
And last but not least: LEGO Fun To Build was the first commercial software in which you could virtually build your own models from a digital box of bricks!
