This is the true top ruby color, The orangish traffic light red. The dark shades pigeon blood rubbies are for new commercial dealers. Ask any real seasoned player in gem trade around the globe and they will tell you the same. Love the piece, just stunning.
I am a ruby dealer. Also sapphires and spinel. And this stone is no where near 20million. Mogok "pigeon blood" rubies still command the highest price. No where near a commercial color. What they call traffic light red is on the lower end of the pigeon blood scale, pigeon blood actually refers to it's flourescence and undertones and I can tell you for certain the more orange to pink a stone gets the more it's value drops.
