They're two abandoned teenagers who've known each other for less than three months, and have bonded during an extended traumatic experience. Even under the best of circumstances, with really healthy relationship modeling from your parents your whole life, at seventeen most people just aren't capable of building a lifelong, healthy relationship. And that's normal. Like everything else, healthy relationships are something that takes time, practice, experience, and WORK.

The way this episode was costructed is actually brilliant. As a viewer your not an allknowing spectator but you get as confused as the characters are. It always surprises me that everyone wants the answers on a platter while as a viewer you know that the answers will come eventually. I myself like the mistery. And if you don't know where the season's going ... the characters are confused about themselves also

I know this is literally from 2-3 years ago😭 But your friends insight about double negatives and white people being the grammar police was totally unexpected from a black american!! And they were absolutely right!! Black and brown people created our own dialect from being forced to speak English. And black people created AAVE. Also, white people being obsessed with "proper grammar" was a way, or actually still very much is, a way for white people to keep people of color as the underclass. Was used to deny us the right to vote, and now is used to deny us higher education and jobs unless we codeswitch.
