Hello Mam..hope you are doing great... please tell..what should be the repeat size for jacquard artwork made in photoshop
Hi Shruti, thank you for watching my videos! Actually, there is no specific repeat size for the jacquard, because its size depends only on the weaving machine which your factory uses. I think, they may vary the repeat size, so I would recommend to ask them what is there repeat sizes range before starting your design. Take a look at the link below- here is one of the factory website where they provide their repeat options: revolutionfabrics.com/blogs/gotcha-covered/jacquard-weaving-101

Thank you. This is useful and could you be consider create watercolor cleaning video?
Thank you Lucille for watching my videos! I'm happy to be helpful. About watercolor cleaning- actually, this video "Chapter 12..." is for all type of prints. However, I understand that the print I use as an example is not complicated enough. So, I suggest it as a main template, but I'm giving some tricks in my other videos, which you can use for watercolor cleaning. I'm trying to not overwhelm my students, so in each video I'm concentrating for only few details. You can take a look at "Chapter 4. HOW TO DO COLOR REDUCTION IN PHOTOSHOP. Part II- WATERCOLOR"- there are some explanations about watercolor prints. Also, "Chapter 14. HOW TO DO REPEAT FOR WATERCOLOR PRINT IN PHOTOSHOP"- would be helpful. And, finally, my last video "Chapter 25. HOW TO USE NOISE PHOTOSHOP FILTERS IN TEXTILE DESIGN"- is about how to use some filters to reduce print pixilation, this method also can be use for cleaning.
Great
thank you for watching!
Thank you again for all your professional tips you provide!! It's really helpful! I have a question: when you do color separation (for rotary printing/the flower patter), can I have each color on transparent background instead of on white they way you did it? White is also a color that can print if I have different darker ground color etc? Thanks so much!
Hi Elisaveta, sure, you can represent each color as a separate layer with a transparent background. Or, with a contrast background. There are no rules, it just for your vendors, and you can discuss the method with them. The main idea- all color placements need to be clear enough for the engraving process. For example, my vendors prefer when I represent very light color with a bright blue background. Thank you for watching my videos!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Oooooooh I use median all the time but didn’t realise dragging it into a clean index colour file would keep the colours limited! This is so helpful! Thank you!
Happy to help!

When you bring it into Photoshop from Illustrator, does it need to be Rasterized?
Hi Roxanne, thank you for watching my channel! No, it doesn't have to be rasterized, just finish your artwork in Illustrator, save it, and then open the file from Photoshop
🌸💮🌼🏵️🌺 thank you so much
Always welcome!
Thank you so much for sharing your knoledge! I have a specific question to make about color separation of gradient colors. I have a design and I would like to ask you a few questions about the best way to separate its colors, in order to get the best possible outcome. How can I get in touch with you?
you can e-mail me : mouseweaver4you@gmail.com
Hi! Thank you so much for this turorial! I have one question though: Is there a way of increasing the size of the dots? At the company where I work there's a problem of silkscreen clogging. So I think that maybe, increasing the dots could avoid the clogging.
Hi Everton! thank you so much for watching my videos! About your question- do you mean you'd like to increase the size of pixels? the easiest way- reduce the resolution. It always work opposite- you are increasing the resolution- all pixels become smaller, and if you are reducing resolution- pixels become bigger. Because the resolution is the amount of pixels per inch
@@MouseWeaver That makes a lot of sense! thank you. We work with silk screen process. I've seen that you use 200 pixels/inch in your designs. We usually use 127 or 150 pixels/inch as resolution. I will make some tests and check which resolution works better using "diffusion dither", though. I intend to watch all your videos. It's been very elucidating. Thank you!
@@MouseWeaver I've been looking for a solution to create smoother transitions of colors, in order to avoid the color banding. I believe that the diffusion dither is an interesting way to do that. Do you agree? I always use halftones with angles, but, the result regarding to transitions of colors is not smooth enouth.
Thank you so much!
Hi Everton. Yes, I think the diffusion is a great tool for smoothness. You can also try "noise" under Dithering drop-down menu, but be careful with this tool, it gives you a lot of stray pixels, which might be a problem for the factory
wonderful so happy good mam
Thanks a lot for watching!
