Wet cut pavers while old mate hoses the saw down. That is hilarious, I am shocked...no pun intended.
I've seen polymeric send specific for driveways
Correct. Some will work and are rated for driveways.
Flawless video
Thank you!
where is videos number two. this was really good
How about showing us
why dont the inner pavers sit higher than the glued pavers since they have fabric and sand under them?
How in the WORLD do you get “dry” pavers or decking in south Florida. It rains every day here. I just put down 600sq ft of marble pool deck. I want to use miracle 511 seal and enhance but I can already see where there’s moisture in some of the marble pavers. It’s 70-80% humidity and never “dry” here…. What do I do?
That a good question. Since we’re from the Pacific Northwest, I would recommend asking a local supplier in your area. What they recommend.
Great content, as always! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Changed my life
This video is awesome! Thank you for the helpful tips! Update - I followed your tips and my paver patio came out absolutely perfect! I especially love the condensation tip, that’s a neat trick! I used Polybind High Gloss Wet Look sealer. I used a pump sprayer then rolled it after. I did about 5foot by 12 foot sections at a time and used about 1.25 gallons for my 250ish square foot patio. The pavers were installed 60ish days ago and any impurities leached out since then.
That's great news! I'm glad we could help!
You assume we have a tamper and a trowel like we have a screwdriver. No we do not. What can be used besides these specialized tools. Since buyi g the tools is a waste of money?
Sometimes the best thing to do is buy the specialized tools although in this situation, if you didn't want to, you could use another block you have laying around to tamp and your hands to smooth the sand. Hand tamper- a.co/d/aPo7Okm Trowel- a.co/d/fKBoKEB
Can you apply the Perma Edge 3/4 high up on the pavers if you do not need to add dirt or grass at edges?
The manufacturer recommends only 1/3 of the way up maximum.
Thanks! Out of dozens of videos I watched on sealing pavers, you are the 1st to warn against using on hot papers! Extremely important here in Florida! Again, thanks for looking out!
You’re welcome!!
Could the perma edge be applied higher than a 1/3 of the paver thickness if I am not concerned about hiding it and want more strength?
Going higher on the edge will not necessarily add strength. We recommend always following the manufacturers recommendation. www.permapaveredging.com/how-to-install
This was very helpful to our small problem which sank after some heavy rain.
Thank you
Which type of sand should I use in between the pavers ?
polymeric sand
We recommend polymeric sand.
Nerd
We love all kinds! :)
Is that to code?
Such great tutorials! thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
This was exactly I was thinking Many thanks
You're welcome!
@@WesternInterlock I have done done it too Just send it
I plan on using Surebond 8700 wet look, I assume I can just a garden sprayer. I need to fix where these contractors failed: ua-cam.com/video/xm8h2ZUq88A/v-deo.html so figured I'd just fix this myself since they can't seem to do it right even coming out a second time in the shady area of my patio. I assume I can take the sand out here, refill it, then spray this on the cracks
I used the 8700 and it was not a great product. Poor outcome. Going to try the 9000 in a hope that it creates more of that wet look. The 8700 was not what the label advised in my situation
@@social_euge5896 oh good to know. Why do you say it wasn't great?
Any solvent based sealer like SB8700 will be very hard on a garden sprayer so be prepared to only be able to use it once. Yes, you can remove the sand if you would like, and refill the joints and then reseal. Have you tried rolling it with Xylene?
@@WesternInterlock I rolled my pavers with the 8700 using a nap roller. 2 coats. It never dried as a wet look and as the winter moved in green algae already started adhering to the surface. Note I am in PNW. The product was not good in my situation. Trying the 9000 in a hope to get a more wet look to bring out the beauty of the pavers
What tool do you recommend using to dig out old sand?
A high pressure water pressure washer.
nice, here's what contractors did to part of mine, I'm so pissed off, I notified them after they even came out twice to try to fix this, and put in a yelp review. They also used SB-8700 ua-cam.com/video/xm8h2ZUq88A/v-deo.html
👍🏿👍🏿
Man got on knee pads on and still had to swap knees, he put them sneakers on after them boots was hurting his feet lol, I'll take his advice
Thanks
Although this video gives a good general idea of how polymer sand works, more detail is needed on how to apply it. One thing that needs to be clarified in your video is how you remove the sand from the surface of the pavers. Are you hosing it off, blowing it off, or what? Also, the wetting technique needs to be addressed more clearly.
We don’t specifically address those items because each sand manufacturer may have slightly different requirements. We recommend following the instructions on the bag.
Doesn't the sand eventually settle down into the gravel? I've seen in other videos where they use smaller pea gravel that tends to lock into the large gravel.
No it will not settle into the gravel too much. We never recommend pea gravel or any other kind of round rock that isn’t crushed.
May I complete step 7 and step 8 on separate days?
That shouldn’t be a problem!
@WesternInterlock Excellent job 🎉 planning to follow the same step by step. Will I be able to use 6-in W x 8-in H x 16-in L hollow blocks ?
Or just use a wood fire pit like physics and mother nature intended, long live the all cleansing flame
How to judge how much sand to put in to be level after putting pavers on?
You would leave a shelf of existing bedding material in the surrounding area as a reference of what level to bring it to.
@@WesternInterlock ok, thank you.
Fantastic video. Thank you
You’re welcome!
Thanks for the info. For me, your fingers were WAY too close to some of those blades, though!
No fingers were harmed in the making of this video!
Hahaha the hands!
Great video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Very nice! 👍
So Minecraft it.
2:38 "You Can Do This By Yourself" - How do you hold a measuring tape to the string on one side 5 or 10 feet away while also holding the end of the tape? I ended up using knots but I want to see how it should be done because it took FOREVER alone. Also what about level? Maybe I'm just a perfectionist but I was also using a level line on the string and the project just became iterative hell alone.
Yes, you CAN do it yourself but it’s much easier with help.
Awesome!! Not as complicated as I thought! Thank you!
You’re welcome! Good luck!
Hi, may I ask I should compact the paver before or after if I do a concrete edge?
If you’re using Perma Edge it should be after the edge is troweled but still wet.
After doing a lot of research , what it comes down to is the product you use , went with Black Diamond Professional Grade Dominator series Sealer , That can be applied to moist surfaces with a sprayer . 23 yrs old paver came out looking like new .
Wonderful!! HOW TALL COULD THE WALL BE??? I NEED LIKE A 3 METTER TALL NOT TOO LONG WALL...2 METTER MAYBE...BUT TALL...COULD THIS TECHNIQUE WORK??? HOW MUCH DOES THE GRAVEL HAVE TO GO DEEP INTO THE PROPERTY???
Hello. It really all depends on the retaining wall block used. Each one is going to have a little bit different specifications than the other. It also depends on the kind of material you’re excavating whether it is Sandy or more clay soil.
@@WesternInterlock the material is practically loose dirt on a side of the property white the other side (9 meters wide) is more compact.
The 1/2 inch conduit pipe is something I hadn’t thought of! We were racking our brains trying to figure out how to create a clean curve. Thank you
Glad we could help!
Well done. I feel I just need replicate this for my patio extension. @8:58, what is the use of square tubing ? Do you place them on the sides ?
Those are 1” screed rails. They are the gauges to get our bedding material 1” thick. They are removed before the stones are laid.
My pavers edge made out of concrete is cracking badly
Is it 100% regular concrete or a modified polymer concrete?
@@WesternInterlock men I think is regular concrete
Aaah yes that’s common with regular concrete. Perma Paver Edging is a modified concrete that has polymers and fiber in it to make it 700% more flexible.
Thank you for the tip.
Very informative and concise. Thank you for sharing the health information also with the dust.
There was no Bigfoot harmed in the making of this video😂
