I am not kidding ; my mother was often watching older movies like this one. She was often watching this one. Whenever the transformation scene came up , my dad would go in the kitchen to pretend he was busy, but in fact was avoiding watching this scene. I wasn't able to watch this scene from age 8 to 17! The music and heartbrat sound is truly creepy. Couldn't sleep alone. My sister is twenty something and can't watch it. I remember questions going through my head at night as I layed awake not being able to fall asleep following the view of this scene ; " what if I had been in that classroom, would he have attacked me?".

Par la suite, elle a joué dans 'Des Dames de Coeur' et 'Un Signe de Feu', téléromans de Lise Payette avec la première Pierrette Guérin, feue Luce Guilbault. Qu'elles reposent en paix.

Quand Elise Varo, qui joue la concubine de Paulo (Jean Lapointe), s'installe pour faire chier Sophie Clément et sa fille (Louise Gagnon), il ne faut pas oublier la manie de Anne-Marie Ducharme de tenter de convaincre l'ado de sortir alors que Jacques Marcotte (le frisé moustachu) sacre un coup de pied sur le derrière de Réjean Audet pour le faire chasser (Réjean Audet a fait un croche-pied à Guy L'Écuyer avant que Jacques Marcotte le pogne au collet). N'oublions pas la présence de Guy L'Écuyer dans le rôle de Panama le cuisinier et Albert Payette alias Mr Croteau le locataire.

Man, this scene scared the shit outta me when I saw it as a kid. Wasn't expecting anything like this from Jerry Lewis movie. I still find this weirdly scary.

This scene killed in the theater in the 60s. I mean absolutely no one expected the Buddy Love character. We thought he would look like the Mr. Hyde side of Dr. Jekyll; which was a monstrous man with a tuxedo on. Fooled the mess out of us. When the camera zoomed in on Buddy Love for the first time their was a loud hush (if that's possible) over the audience; mixed in with a lot of oohs, ahhs, whoas and Wha'? The's?! Then the entire theater broke into loud cheers! Not many comics can split your side with laughter while at the same time break your heart with sympathy or pathos from an audience. Chaplin mastered it, Lewis continued it and Murphy pulled it off during the night club scene when Dave Chapelle went off on Klump.

Love the camerawork here: Jerry's POV with everyone staring at him in shock and awe. He repeated this in "The Family Jewels", but with a very different appearance at the end! RIP Mr. Lewis. Hard to believe we lost him and Dick Gregory this past week!
