    I bought the 50L version, using it in my van, outside was 35 degres and we manage to keep fresh food .. Still a thing i dont understand, the " battery" symbol is showing the car battery? Or the fridge battery level? There is not incorporated battery right? That would have been a great thing otherwise, like a 10 hours thing that can keep it fresh while no power At nightime I turn it off for the sound and it drops from 2 degres celcius to 11 or 15 depending on the heat outside, rather no have meat in there so. Only thing i would have done differently on this fridge is the motor emplacements that leaves a gap under it for stuff. Its no practical unless u only store cans and bottle, stuff gets stucks and u have to take everything out to get acces.

    Thanks for the good video! I bought an almost similar one, but mine is 40 L. I understand that the freezer should reach -20°C in less than two hours. Mine has been switched on for more than 24 hours and it has reached -10°C. What’s wrong? Besides, it’s very loud in spite of the information in the manual. I am confused. Have you any idea if my fridge/freezer is faulty?

    I really wonder about a few things, first of all what is actual efficiency of that refrigerator, I mean how much it can drop temperature compared to enviroment it is in, because for example if you were to carry it in a car in summer, temperatures in the trunk could probably hit up to 40/50C when exposed to sun, and it is pretty unbelievable that portable refrigerator could still manage to keep 0 inside of it, and seccond, what would be the energy drain during the day, because as far as I understand you conducted the energy drain test overnight in basement/garage, so probably temperature in the room didnt change at all, keeping that said 15C for the whole time, but how would that energy drain vary if the temperature around was lets say 25C or even higher? Lastly how much time would it take to cool it down if it was filled with said beer and meet, not empty?

    • @ollelund
      @ollelund 2 місяці тому

      It can take it town to -20c even if the surrounding temperature is high. But it will consume more power. Today I used for the birthday party for one of my kids. We used it for icecream. It was 22c when I turned it on and it was down to -20c in about 30 minutes And yes, it would consume more power if it was hotter outside. Just like any refrigerator. And if your beer and meat is warm then it will take some time to get it down to the right temperature. But once again. That’s is the same with any refrigerator. But, last summer it was around 40c in the sun and I was using this refrigerator in my adventure trailer. There was no problem to run the fridge for 12h of a 288wh battery.

    I have heard from another youtuber that even if you have 3 identical panels if one of them experiences a loss in sun input, for example some shade is cast one one of the panels in series it will reduce the output on the other 2 also. My reason for investigating this is I am wondering whether it is better to have smaller panels connected in parallel on the back of a bike trailer than have one big panel, in case I am blocking some of the panel with my body as I ride. What do you think?

    • @ollelund
      @ollelund 3 місяці тому

      That is right. If you think that one of the panels might be in the shade then parallel is better. In then you will only lose the production from the shaded system and not the whole system. What solar panels are you using?

    Great video, but it would have been good to test various input voltage. Surely the efficiency would be lower if the gap between input and ouput is higher. IE solar panel with 12v boosted to 54v. And even better, 12v boosted to 82.8v for a 72v battery.

    This may be a dumb question, but I´m just starting to learn about MPPTs and stuff. So from what I´ve understood so far, the MPPT and the DC-DC boost converter are two separate components, am I right?

    • @ollelund
      @ollelund 5 місяців тому

      There are no dumb questions, but my response time was really slow. Sorry for that. And you are right, they are two separate components, but here they are the same... I'll try to explain it as simple as possible. A MPPT controller detects the generated voltage of the solar panel in real time and tracks the highest voltage and current value (VI), enabling the system to charge the battery with maximum output power. With a ordinary MPPT the solar panels voltage needs to be higher than the voltage of the battery. A DC-DC boost converter basically just boost a lower DC voltage to a higher. Finally, the MPPT booster is a combination of the two. It allows you to use, for example, a 18v solar panel to charge a 36v battery.

    2nd test of my ALLPOWERS S700 V2.0 606WHr last night running my 2018 fossil gas furnace last night -5 Celsius outdoors with wind-chill -12 degrees. It ran (indoor set 24 Celsius on thermostat) for 4 hours AC mode but then AC mode turned itself off with aprox 58% remaining at 4 hours! That's disappointing considering that I'd hope to sleep through an over night (6 hrs expectation) power outage. I turned AC back on but within 40 minutes it ran down to 18%, which means power off is just minutes away based on past experience. I had the charger plugged in for the entire test run. As it's not a quick charge capable battery chemistry (not a LiFePO4), am not surprised that there was not much power use mitigation. I'm glad I have an EcoFlow River 2 Pro 786WHr to rely on. It's either a safety overheat shut-off of the AC (or DC) due to overheating unit or it has a sleep mode which engaged when my furnace blower was idle; either way my EcoFlow can go 6.5 Hrs without user intervention but does cost more that double the price and does get firmware updates unlike the S700.

    • @ollelund
      @ollelund 7 місяців тому

      One thing I miss for most of the power stations out there is a Bluetooth interface where you can go in as a "power user" and change more settings like sleep mode and so on. I have been trying to get a diesel heater to heat my roof top tent. Got it a couple of weeks back but all I got was an error message so I haven't been able to really try it out. I just did my performance test ua-cam.com/video/xYsBt_Swt_M/v-deo.html When it hits 40% and dropping on the display, expect it to stop providing power soon! The good news is that it has battery management systems (BMS) to prevent deep discharge in that heavy usage scenario, so the display has power and claims it has 0% but you now know that you must charge it up soon. If you don't charge it soon, it may actually reach deep discharge state over a few days and may be useless / no longer able to charge up. Perhaps by 2025, new solid-state batteries for these home use products will be readily available, smaller size / same weight but a much greater run time :)

    • @ollelund
      @ollelund 7 місяців тому

      Cool, I will have to watch your video asap. It feels like we're still only at the beginning of the battery revolution. Absolutely we don't have lead acid batteries anymore but so far no batteries are great. Nice review :) Have you tried this panel if it triggers charge error when recharging batteries (AA, AAA, 18650, etc.) when partial shading from clouds, or else occurs? Obviously this would depend on the charger as well though, have you run some tests for it?

    • @ollelund
      @ollelund 7 місяців тому

      Hi! Sorry for the late response! I would say that it has more to do with the charger then the panel. In theory, the panel will produce 30 watts if one of the two panels are in the shade. For most batteries 30 watts are more then enough to charge with. Right now its in the middle of the winter but I will do a test as soon as i can see some sun!

      Yes. The efficiency is measured by the difference between the Watts input and Watts output. From some of your screen shots, this is about 170/190 or 89%. It would have been best to measure the total energy in and total energy out in Watt hours (Wh) but only one snapshot shows that so can't compare. Thanks for doing this test. 8 month ago I suported Gendome in Indigogo. They promised to deliver in april to Europe. Only loose promisses till so far nothing to The netherlands. Only reason they are working on a network.... Just send my 2250 peach of battery. My summer season is over, thats why I bought, so I had not to cook on gass in my summer house. next sunday over for nxt 7 month. So thank you for wanting my money and do nothing with it. Dispite all the youtube video's i feel scamed. They offert once moneyback on The Gendome. but i want where i paid for. are there more people with this problem?

      I have nothing to do with Gendome so if you have complaints you will have to take it up with them. I have heard that they for some reason paused their launch in Europe to be able to deliver a better product. As far as I know, there is no product made for Europe yet and I guess that you don't want a US version. So right now I think that all that you can get is your money back. It will be hard for them to send you a product they don't have...

    I'd be very very careful trying to charge a 12v battery directly off the panels. The panels will be pulling around 18v under load so you could fry your car battery. I would only do it in an emergency and just enough to get the car started and watch it very closely. I like how it has a built in parallel connector. I built a series and a parallel with MC4's but this is much cleaner. The Bluetti has a proper MPPT controller the Allpowers cheepo power station probably has a PWM controller.

    • @ollelund
      @ollelund 11 місяців тому

      I agree!! I would do that to a 12v battery if it wasn't the last resort. On a 18 v battery though..

    • @chrissinclair8705
      @chrissinclair8705 11 місяців тому

      True or another trick which would help out is if you had a DC to DC boost converter, put a couple of 12v batteries in series so you have a 24v battery, put the charging voltage at say 26v then you'd be good as well. The good thing is to get say a cheap PWM controller that will pump out 13v for a car battery is very reasonable. I've literally seen them as low as $15, probably not the fastest thing out there but it would charge at the right voltage. Of course you could spurge $30 and get one with even a basic MPPT controller...@@ollelund

    • @ollelund

      Well first you got to know the battery voltage of your E motorcycle. Then it's just to connect the MPPT bost charger between the solar panel and the E motorcycle battery. Easy as that 👍
