Love that I found this because I'd still prefer to go this route vs the aluminum Kensui. I'm not a big dude though and can't find a measurement on the square piece of the handle, so how akward would 5lb standard plates be with a rough diameter of 6.5"? If I had to drop one I wouldn't want it coming down on a corner of the square and bend it
Subbed because of the Ubuntu font
Out of curiosity, do you have the ironmaster kettlebell handle? I was thinking of putting standard plates on the kettlebell handle with the long pin to take it above 100 pounds, ideally reaching 120 pounds. I'm worried of the pin failing and the weights falling off though. I was curious if you had played with this at all and had any thoughts.
Picking up my echo in the morning. Glad I made the right choice!
I decided on the Airdyne because of the handles. Happy with my choice so far.
Just buy some Kensui handles. They come in two sizes including aluminum handles that carry more weights.
Didn’t exist when this video was created.
Yes I see this post is quite old. I have had good luck with the Kensui handles. I don’t need more than 70 pounds per handle so the $40 handles work for me. The $100 aluminum handles will hold 150 pounds per handle.
how cheap can you be lol these arent that expensive, the whole benefit of the ironmaster plates is the square size and that they fit into each, thus occupying less space, look at those huge ass rounded plates looks ridiculous
Ok. 4.5 years ago when I made this video I already had the plates because I was using spinlocks before this and I didn’t have an extra $1000+ to drop on a full set of ironmasters especially since I already had prostyles up to 100 and this was just for the heavier weights. I didn’t give a shit how it looked because it was functional and saved me a lot of money. Since then I have spent far more than that on my gym and replaced these and the prostyles with a set of powerblocks that go up to 130 that I got for $450 on marketplace. Lots of people think those look ridiculous too but again I don’t give a shit because they saved me enough space to add two cable towers and they’re fast and easy to use. Next evolution of dumbbells in my gym will be the new Rep x Pepin’s up to 125 which I’ve preordered and no doubt will be better still. The point is that everyone has to start somewhere and this hack worked well for me at the time. So, respectfully, get fucked.
Sorry bro, nothing like a real set of ironmaster....just save up
Solid video
Thanks for this video. I’m sold on the echo
Seems there is more range of motion on the arms for the echo bike.
Can you stand on the Rogue Echo as easily as on the Airdyne? Looks like handles come back towards the body further.
Schwinn's equally intense@a lower RPM, so Schwinn has a higher max intensity.
#science
I wish there was a way to make those fit olympics! Really great setup!
Thank you for your work, beautiful homegym by the way
Thank you. Great review!
My Airdyne lasted 7 years before the rusted out piece if shit stopped working. I had to replace the belt twice, but something started grinding metal on metal and it became impossible to push anymore. There were large stretch where it didn't even get much use.
Have your views changed at all?😊
I miss my old smaller wheel airdyne. Bought the AD7 and it's not nearly as nice IMO I just cannot seem to get comfortable on the Schwinn
First day impressions:It arrived in a waist high box. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 Each dumbbell was in its own foam box within the shipping box. Everything was secure and in good shape. No weird smells. The weight changing mechanism is really smooth and straight forward. Changing weight is really fast and easy. Though the handle is plastic, I don't think it will be breaking anytime soon. So far pretty impressed after my first session with them. I was afraid they were going to be too wide at first, but I didn't have any issues with them while doing upright rows.
What do you think about how wide the pedals are against each other?
Thanks for the review. I'm not going to take up sprinting when I can take up bike sprinting.
What would work best for someone petite like me? I’m 5’3” so basically short legs and short arms?
I think Kensui Adjustabells beat these now. Please do a review on those! Great video
Basically all have copied Off of dyne since it's the og I say just get whatever is cheaper of a air bike they all are way better than a spin or stationary it's no real big difference from any air bike compared to each other as this video shows
Can you use a fan bike without hands?
Yes but it’s not super comfortable for extended periods because there’s no other handlebars to lean on to so you have to sit more upright.
@@timk8258 cool. Thanks for the reply!
Can you use 2" holes, Olympic plates on these?
Maybe if you tightened the screw down enough but I would be worried that they might end up shifting around and causing issues because the screw is only 1”. But the surfaces in contact with the plates are big enough that they wouldn’t be able to fall off or anything.
You could also order the Pepin dumbell handles for the same price as the iron masters and not have to worry about messing about, even though this is a pretty simple solution!
Yeah this video was made in 2019 before Pepin handles existed
@@timk8258 thats fair! Its a pretty helpful video nonetheless
Dude you talk too much and nearly bored me to death.
Awesome review. Which one would you recommend for someone around 5'6 with 32" legs?
I got lucky and got 16 ten pound pancake plates for $0.75 = $120. Bought used BaadAss Handles on Ebay for $90. Bought the new BassAss endcaps with built in magnets from the manufacturer in Canadia for $240. Total cost $450 and I can go up to 100 lbs. With the magnet endcaps you can add 5 lb or 2.5 lb plates to the endcaps wtihout unscrewing the endcaps. Works for me. Thanks for making the video and giving me the idea.
I think I'm going to try this, but are there any durability issues? I like ironmasters because you can drop them if necessary, unlike other adjustable dumbbells. Is that still true when using standard plates?
It's the exact same system, just different style of iron weights. Did you not see him slamming the weight on the ground?
crazy impressive!
Good job man just for the future if you recording a video make sure is more light in your room because i barely see anything, background and your clothes are black.
Need to turn up your screen brightness, everything is visible on my calibrated monitor (I’m a professional photographer)
@@timk8258 im watching on the s10 phone like most of the people with 80% brightness, usually i'm on 50%.
Love my Echo Bike
Been using my AD7 and I'm very happy with the build and function of the machine.
How loud is the AD7 at steady state threshold speed around 70--80% effort? How about all out? Can you hear it through apartment walls?
No, very quiet
Buy Pepin dumbbell handles instead, they fit any weight plates
This video is from 2019, before Pepin handles existed.
I like this video. Good stuff. Thank man
Ironmaster are onto you, lol. They have significantly raised the cost of the handles
Echo Bike pedals and handgrips appear to be significantly wider compared to the Schwinn. Your movements look to be different on the two bikes. Can you address this?
I can stand, pedaling on the Schwinn, but not the Rogue. This is a good thing.
Simple and informative review for a home gym viewer. Thanks for the content!
Nice review, it answered my questions I had about the fan air bikes. I was leaning towards the Rogue anyway but your review sealed the deal, thanks
I'm a sucker for overbuilt. I'll take the Rogue. The Schwinn looks like a sweet machine too. Doesn't look like I can go wrong on either one.
Airdyne is best
Very nice explanation, very thorough, went with the rogue echo as per recommended and loving it!
Get the Airdyne.
How tall are you?
Ahh fk geocities..lmao
I have powerblocks up to 90 but I don't think they work with the mad hook spotters or the sport grip spotter system;( so iam looking for dumbells 50 and up to use the spotter systems since I have shoulder pain. I may sell the powerblocks 90s and get the once up to 50lbs only since I do hitt workouts 2x a week and they are fast to change.
