I always find this funny cause Flash is depicted as beating supermans point, But its never addressed, And even in trying to dismiss it, banning cigarettes is also a objective good, if you speed enough you do get imprisoned, and if you leave your dog unleashed your actively risking peoples lives, And then it jumps to Killing people who don’t recycle, trying to through a slippery slope fallacy say that removing all guns means you want to kill everyone who doesn’t recycle, And there is no reason to think this, even disregarding recycling is basically a myth, Removing Guns will cause drastically less gun violence, even if some people still have guns, they’re fewer, And most people using guns impropely aren’t “criminals” its people who were law abiding before hand and had too bad of a day, It is a kid who was bullied, a father who lost their daughter, It is not a abstract group of evil criminals, Additionally Banning cigarettes would save lives yes, and the biggest issue would be providing services to help ween addicts off of it, But what I find more intriguing is it is kind of implying its impossible or immoral to, or that guns are addictive, Then Speeding, which similarly to recycling if we ignore our speed limits and road laws are really poorly made, How is speeding related to gun violence? Is it because its second to guns in child and teen mortality? And speeding is already illegal, at this point we’ve already jumped from legal to illegal things, Especially leaving dangerous dogs unleashed, which generally would mean the dog had already bit once, maybe yeah we should jail those people, cause the alternative is euthanizing the dog? And then suddenly we’re killing people who don’t recycle? The logic makes no sense, it only serves as a “short, quipy and wrong” argument, it makes the viewer think they’re right because its quipy and short even if it is fundamentally wrong or a fallacy

The Penance Stare would no more harm you if you killed to protect your mother. Similar to Mjolnir decides who is worthy, the Sorting Hat chooses which magical house you belong in and how the One Ring fights to get back to Dark Lord Sauron. The Penance Stare isn't like Cyclops Eye blast harming whoever Cyclops look at. Ghost Rider may activate it, but the Stare decides if repentance is warranted. 🤯

What punisher is actually saying is he has already made peace with his deeds. And he has taken much worse. The thing is frank castle is making his own penance for the things he does and actually believes what he does is right. Hence why the state doesn’t work.

I like to think that this is how it works but that it very easily overwhelms everyone and drives them insane and the reason it wouldn’t work on Frank is because he’s not just already insane but just his sheer amount of willpower, idk it’s all plot armor anyways but hey that’s just comics

one thing i'd like to point out is how, everytime the flash mentions somenthing, he gets increasingly more extreme take away(guns)-imprison-kill because that IS what would happen

speeding causes les accidents than going too slow. people who speed are simply better at driving and dont often wreck. running red lights or something is a different story. the reason insurance companies push for speed laws is that high speed wrecks cost them more money, not more deaths. they dont care about that ;)

Essentially Joker was going to end the dad for trying to get out of crime. But when he discovered the kid and the ' potential' this kid had he decided to change the plans. The reference at the end where Joker is indicating that he will only kill the bugs when they try to leave the box is also a message to his dad. He will only kill the dad if he tries to leave Jokers gang.

The problem with comic continuity and cannon is that it can be changed at any time because of what the writer wants to happen.

The art style is truly garbage.

There's more horrific people out there who don't regret what they did. They're called psychopaths, and a LOT of killers therefore have no regrets, biologically. The Penance Stare doesn't care about regret, it cares about SIN. "Thou shall not kill", plain and simple, and punisher has. Ghost Riders are possessed by hellborn spirits, the point of he'll is to punish sin, not punish regret. The Punisher would be Punished here, his soul burning for he has sinned, unless... The Punisher could also be something sent by god or hell to punish sinners. His punishment is to kill them, send them to hell, where their true punishment begins. I don't think punisher, or the writer of this comic, understand the penance stare, so they chalk it up to a lack of regret. In reality, The Ghost Rider and The Punisher aren't so different in the eyes of hell...

It doesnt function off of regret, but lets be real; the punisher can probably tank the mental barrage anyways. Hes comparable to a roided out batman without any strict moral code- hes more than capable of tanking the suffering he has inflicted and biting back. Edit: There is no way punisher bests ghost rider in a fair 1v1, but either way.

the easy retcon here is that the sword offers some protection. frank castle doesn't know magic for shit, he has no idea what the sword's deal is other than "it can hurt him"

This reads like the author thought he was writing Frank Castle with some sort of edgy badass 200IQ "GOTCHA" moment but just exposed how much of an ill informed try-hard twat the author actually is.

This argument has a loophole right at the beginning, because he's making it seem like a cycle/slippery slope but the items he listed after guns aren't inherently made to be dangerous or made to kill. Guns are inherently a weapon, cigarettes aren't inherently a weapon, dogs aren't inherently weapons, not recycling takes a long time to cause damage. Guns are inherently made to harm, disable or kill.
