Hello.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Axe looks to be very sticky.
Which axe you like better, this one, or Tuatahi Camp axe? Thanks for your answer, sir!
@@johnleahu9503 Hi John, thanks for commenting. It is hard to tell as I haven’t used this axe much. Right away I can tell this one is better for limbing with a wider cutting edge and thinner profile. I have used the Tuatahi camp axe allot and in my opinion it is the ultimate all round work axe so I would have to go with the Tuatahi in that respect. Thanks Liam
@@liamturner9568 thank you so much for answering.... I do appreciate you much! I have the Tuatahi Camp axe, so I was not sure how they would compare. I have the choice to buy the Chopper from Axemen or the Camp axe from Tuatahi. I think you opened my eyes, and I will probably purchase the Chopper..... In your opinion, long handle or 3/4 handle, which one is better? Thanks again sir!
@@johnleahu9503 I have the 3/4 handle and it feels real good. I would imagine that the full length handle would also be good. With this size of cutting edge I think that the shorter handle is better
@@liamturner9568 thank you sir! I appreciate your input! God bless you Liam!
Very impressive axe. What’s your sharpening methods?
@@ronkay1573 thanks for commenting. It comes with a very nice 20deg chisel as the secondary bevel and small micro bevel. All I have done to maintain it is touch up the micro bevel with a stone every now then. I haven’t had to touch the secondary bevel yet. Thanks Liam
In conclusion. It comes with a very serviceable edge that is very effective and very durable and easy to maintain. Tuatahi have definitely hit the sweet spot with this axe
Gets stuck a bit though
This fast growing Redgum is always a bit sticky with any axe. In general the Tuatahi camp axe is a very free axe and bounces right out of the cut on denser wood. Just a bit sticky in this particular tree but definitely does the job well. Thanks for commenting, it’s much appreciated
@@liamturner9568 no worries liam. Being a west aussie we dont have the wide variety of different timbers that the east coast does. But karri can be bloody hard and its well known amongst log choppers that jarrah is very hard as well.
I have heard that out west the timber is very tough. I have worked with Jarrah a bit and it is definitely very dense and hard. It really depends where it is grown. This particular tree was grown in a forest in the hills so it grew fast and tall. Redgum that is grown in the Mallee is a lot tougher and harder. Every tree is different and some axe work better in certain timber
@@liamturner9568 absolutely and i enjoy talking to people like yourself about it all. Great stuff cheers and regards Dave
Thanks for taking the time to comment, it is much appreciated. Thanks Liam

What a limber! I have enjoyed binge watching all your videos these last several days. Good stuff.
Thanks mate, I’m glad you enjoyed them
Too thin. They stick in the wood. The old version was way better.
Great chopping and balancing!
Enjoyable video mate!
Nice accuracy Liam! The Camp Axe really punches above its weight.
Hard not to become attached to that one!
Smooth sailing once you got that knot chopped out! 🪓🪓
Another beaut of an axe! I've never seen a 1564 before.
You made that look easy!
Thanks for the vid! Looks like the Cyclone still has a nice full bit.
Genius axe , i have one with the standard handle and i love it .
Both axes seemed to do really well. The Sneddens looks to have more of a poll than most tassies. I assume this shifts the balance a bit. Any thoughts having swung them back to back?
Hi mate, the poll is definitely much bigger on the sneddens. The poll doesn’t really come in the factory unless you are swinging horizontally such at felling and wedge banging. It doesn’t make a difference when chopping underhand as gravity is in your favour
Looking comfortable up there!
Nice work and good balance!
Beautiful spot for a chop! Great penetration and massive chips.
I'm a big fan of Brades axes! Thanks for the video.
I just ordered the Tuatahi Camp Axe, can't wait for it to show up. How long did yours take to show up?
It is an absolute beast of an axe you will love it. I waited about 3 months for mine a few years ago
@@liamturner9568 ok sounds good thanks. Yeah the website said 3 months. Weather will be cooling off up here in New Hampshire by then, the Fall is the perfect axe swinging season!
Just found your channel Liam and subscribed. Looks like you have some great content that I look forward to catching up on! I live in New Zealand but don't hold that against me.
Hi Brett thanks for commenting. yeah mate just me and some axes in the bush chopping a bit of timber. I try and upload something every fortnight so stay tuned for more
Excellent chopping sir. That Tuatahi definitely punches above it's weight. 🪓
Thanks mate, appreciate it
That's a very impressive axe, you could eat dinner off those chips. 🪓
Thanks mate, it throws some big chips. Definitely my favourite axe to use
We need to see it felling next!
Nice! That things gotta be about the ultimate limbing axe. Im still yet to get my hands on an EFA, good to see one get a bit of real-world use. Cheers👍👍🪓
It is definitely a very good limber. I’m interested to see how it goes in some bigger timber
A real slicer !
Definitely is mate
Nice looking axe, thanks for all your videos Liam, its been great seeing all the different types.
Thanks mate, yeah it’s an absolutely beautiful axe
That wood looks fun to chop on
It’s nice wood to chop when you can get it to stay still. The area I fell this tree in was covered in granite rock so i didn’t want to buck it all up on the ground and risk damaging my axe
Awesome work Liam. That Craftsman goes well, good job balancing on those logs, Really appreciate seeing some Aussie bush chopping, cheers for the vid! 👍👍🪓🪓
Cheers Kurt, appreciate it
Nice work balancing on those logs!
Thanks mate. I definitely need a better setup
Awesome to see some chopping Liam, good stuff mate👍🪓🪓
Cheers Bushy, appreciate it mate. I have a few good axes in the works that I will be testing out directly once they are ready to go. It should make for some good footage

Thank you mate, it’s much appreciated. The Knife I am carrying is a Helle Utvaer
The Tuatahi eats that log. And nice bucking technique. Looking good! Great stuff.
Thanks mate, appreciate it
Great axe you certainly do have the physic 4 that B PROUD my brother B PROUD What fixblade u carrying ? Regards Richard. 🇿🇦
The Tuatahi camp axe is a beast , Brades held up well , thanks for the video.
It definitely is, there was no way I was letting the Tuatahi get that close to the ground so the Brades took one for the team.
Great video Liam, love the handle is it a Chris Hadley or Jimmy Findlay handle?
Thanks mate appreciate it. It is one of Chris new handles that he makes in house at Engineered for Axemen. He has 3 different lengths and 3 different species being Hickory, Beech and Spottedgum
Hi mate, I just uploaded an extended version to this video if you want to check it out. Thanks Liam
@@liamturner9568 cheers for letting me know, i will look up their website,
@@liamturner9568 watching now, thanks
Hi mate, just realised it is Pete not Chris from Engineered for Axemen. Thanks Liam
Wow, that made it look easy. Nice looking axe.
Thanks mate, appreciate it
The classic 4.5! Nice! What are you using for handles on these last few Brades axes?
She’s a beauty I love it. They all have thinned down spottedgum Kruger handles except for the 4 1/2 on a Vandieman Racing handle
The ax blade cuts wood very well, is it the Tassei model?
Yes it is a Tasmanian pattern
Nice, got through there quick
I was surprised how quick it got through with a thick grind. The heel really bites on this axe
This one might be my favorite
This one is definitely my favourite aswell
Chips !
looks effortless 😯
Hi mate what size handle did you get on it ?
Hi mate. It is a 750mm racing handle
Start off with a narrower scarf mate
Nice chopping. ! Nice axe also ! How long is the handle ?
Thanks mate. The handle is 30 inches
Man its so good to see some Aussie woodchopping from another perspective. Cheers for the vid. Old Cyclone's are a killer axe, nice work👍👍🪓🇦🇺
Thanks Kurt, appreciate it. I am very surprised at the quality of steel. It held up really nice with a thin chisel grind
That "THUD" sound really tells how hard that timber is. Nice big chips too.
