Ive been going to my doctor every 28 days for 4 yrs 10 months and he raises prices every year. Its 175/month plus 25 for the urine testing. I pay put of pocket and am trying to spend less. After i make the appointment, do i have ti return the mouth swab or do the urine test before the appointment or before the online doc will send in my prescription? Im just trying to figure out if I'd be able to make an appointment and have my prescription within the next 11 days so i can cancel my regular doctor's appointment next week OR if it'll take 2+ weeks to get the online appointment, return the swab/urine and have prescription aent ti my pharmacy. ?? Anyone know?

Im glad to know that MAT is being accepted by most treatment centers and for many at meetings. At AA meetings, many dont understand the dynamics of opioid recovery. I feel like there should be Opioid Anonymous designated meetings because often AA attendees and aponsors, especially old timers, dont understand Subs, and NA meetings don't always feel like a right fit for many opioid addicts even though they're narcitic addicts.... Just my opinion.

As someone who successfully tapered off subs, I wish they would ask people during intake a simple question. “Do you want to be on long term, or short term?” Long term do what is always done overprescribe 16mg that nobody needs to really dig those claws in. For short term, mg by mg over the course of 3 days to see the LOWEST therapeutic dose that stabilizes, and reduce over the next 3 weeks.

Unfortunately, they made billions turning millions into addicts and now they're making billions helping people get off of those opioids. The opioid relapse rate is so high (over 95% don't stay clean for one year), but it goes down drastically for those who use MAT programs. I know people who would not be alive today and certainly wouldn't be leading productive and happier lives without them.

I'm sure injectin street h etc does affect your immune system, but since I have been takin c o d e i n for pain I have never been sick from virus etc, while everyone else has. Vit C and B vits ate good as they help speed up the breakdown of the opi metabolites that remain and slow your body adapting as they bind to the receptor and don't give the same effect, so your body thinks it doesn't need to make its own endorphins. As soon as the withdrawals start, take highish dose vit b and c and see how quickly it helps.

*When it comes to treating opioid dependence, two of the most commonly prescribed medications are Suboxone and Subutex. While these two medications share some similarities, there are also some key differences between them that are important to understand. In this section, we will compare and contrast these two medications, highlighting their differences in terms of their active ingredients, mechanism of action, benefits, and potential side effects.*

This is no different than if you made a physical doctor's appointment every month for a Suboxone appointment. With the pandemic, many states added laws allowing virtual doctor appointments. I've been seeing a doctor in his office every 28 days for 4 yrs 10 months and every year the price goes up. It's now 175 for the visit and 25 for the urine test. I'm looking to find a doc that charges less and an online provider popped up. It seems very straightforward and half the price. Plus, every doc appt I have ends up being 3, often 4 hours and I live 3 miles away.

Oh except Sunday cuz u know the whole you can’t have your medication crap goes out the window cuz there closed Sunday and holidays. You’re a crook like so many others. Sad “recovery” is booming buisness now. wish I would have known about it in school I’d be a nurse practitioner and write the word suboxone or type it on a rx sheet. easiest 120k a year. Hell you can do that on the side. Sub clinics pop up like Starbucks anymore. Funny the problem is only getting worse tho. Hmmmm? Big pharma wins again. years ago suboxone was the 12th most prescribed pill in the us. Probably alot higher now.

To be safe I’d wait 3-4 days if you can. The same rules don’t apply for fent as they used to for heroin when you could take a sub 12-24 hours into detoxing. Subs will send you into precipitated withdrawal QUICK with fentanyl. It lingers around for some reason like methadone and so you gotta wait longer to take it 😮‍💨

I’ll never understand why people struggle with subs so much. Every time I stopped taking them I lost everything I had within a year and it got worse every time. I finally just gave up and take two a day and have a completely normal life. Been like this for 6+ years now and it’s just part of life. Don’t listen to failures on how to succeed and it’s not for everyone. If you want to actually quit everything then by all means don’t get on another opioid that makes you way sicker when you stop taking it. That’s common sense. But if you’re like me and it’s the only way you can maintain a good healthy life then sure go for it. But people on here telling people who are doing dangerous shit like fentanyl.. (a drug that one microgram too much will kill you and you have no way to judge how much you’re getting) not to get on subs because you were too weak minded to properly ween yourself off and blamed your doctors for your own shortcomings is abhorrently irresponsible.

    • @Shellyshocked

@johnleaf429 As long as you are taking the prescribed amount, you won't run out before your next refill. You can usually fill it 2 days before you're going to run out, too. You can also call your pharmacist a week prior to running out to make sure they have it in stock and give them a reminder that you will need it filled in a week if that's a concern. Running out before your next refill should never happen unless you're taking too much. I've never in over 10 years run out too soon. If anything, I always have 2 extra at the end of the month.

If you actually want to take the pain from opiate withdrawal you have to attack the particular withdrawal symptoms. Megadosing vitamin c has many studies confirming relief in flu like symptoms of opiate withdrawal. Large amounts aren’t toxic. L-dopa is a must as well because opiates destroy your dopamine and one of the worst withdrawals is restless leg syndrome which is due to dopamine deficiency. Besides those 2 Magnesium, L Theanine, Black seed oil all have studied to back them up. A multivitamin will show little to none relief going through withdrawal

I was prescribed 2 Suboxone tablets per day for almost 5 years, when I finally made the jump down to 1 tablet per day I started getting these horrible headaches, it was almost daily, and switching from Suboxone to Subutex imidiatly relieved me of the issue, it was the weirdest thing

Hello. How long did you stop taking the Suboxone before you took your first Subutex?

Subs suck. They’re amazing for short term though.

I don’t see what’s wrong with long term if they keep you from losing everything you have, going to jail or worse these days especially dying..

What makes you say that they are amazing for short term ? I'd be very grateful to you if you can share your experience. I don't want to be stuck on them for a longer period. BTW I guess you are clean by now?

Thats expensive to pay out of pocket. Here in Maryland i see a psychiatrist and NP every week. Ive Been there 8 months. They’re milking my medicaid insurance and piss testing every week. They even confirmed with me when i asked them to slow down on the money spent on all of these UAs that they will never EVER piss less than once every week. I’ve had 2 false positive UAs with them so far i promise. What happens with the 3rd false positive? Its all a money grab they know to never fuck with my medication I am protected from discrimination but they definitely will say im dirty if insurance cuts me off.
