(I apologize in advance for all of the camera movements) This is how to remove the stator from a 2011 zx6r. This should also be the same process with a 2009-2012 zx6r.

    Do you also hear the click when shifting? I’ll be in my garage and I’ll shift from park to drive and I’ll hear the click. Would the axle be the cause of this?

    • @tpthebeast1
      @tpthebeast1 22 дні тому

      @@dannyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy No, I’m assuming you have an automatic transmission. If you notice it after you wash your car or after it rains. Sometimes the rust kind of sticks to the brake pads after the car dries and once you move it for the first time after a rain/wash you might hear a click/popping sound.

    • @dannyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
      @dannyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 22 дні тому

      @ no this isn’t after a wash either. Granted I got my car washed about a week and a half ago and I let it sit in my garage in 40 degree weather for a week without driving it and now it’s starting to click. And it stutters as well when accelerating at least sometimes not sure what the diagnosis is

      @ It could be a few things. Have you tried searching for the issue in any c7 forums?

    The Axel nuts are a 1x use. Do you see the Alu shavings @ 7:50? This problem will return.

    What does that little white plug go to?

  • @carycase5563

    The problem is the axel hub on C4, C5, C6 & C7 , wear out after 100k at normal use, if you are track racing they don't last long. They run from about $45 to $100. As long as you are not racing and taking hard corners, they're fine. If you are track racing then you should buy a Timken at about $100 or upgrade one made for racing at $400. The part is relatively easy to install, I have replaced about 8 or 9 of these over the years. Good luck.

    So what are the torque specs for the axle nut in the front? Is it also 184/ ft lbs?

  • @RyanTSattler
    @RyanTSattler Рік тому

    It would seem that the root issue is actually in the axle itself? The re-torque might be masking the problem temporarily. The sound is very similar to a bad half shaft on an ATV.

    continually retorquing axle nuts is going to weaken the shoulders of the axle and the axle will eventually break

  • @garyjohnson3108

    wow you didnt use the pucks that are between the jack and the car so it doesn't cause damage.. Good vid though but a torque wrench would be a good investment for future videos. Also you can only put that axle nut on 1 time , when you remove it its a paper weight and unsafe to reuse and you should be using red lock tite not the blue blue is for snug bolts like harley side covers red is for axles and anything torqued over 40 foot pounds in most cases...

    I believe those axle nuts are one time use. Once they break free, they should be replaced and then use red locktite 272. Good luck.

    OMG, that's sick sounding. Like the pop too, but need tuning to fix YRC Mode A/B low end choppy throttle once I can afford it, Love the color scheme on your 16 too. Looking at M4 or TB stainless cat elimination with stock slip-on. How'd you do titanium, did a full exhaust? Nice video, thanks.

    Nice video man. I just got my bike used and I believe my stator went all the lights and dash went dim and eventually blank and then died thought it was the battery so go one and a week later not even did the same thing do u think its the stator ? (09 zx-6r)

    • @trumpetdavid
      @trumpetdavid 4 роки тому

      Almost definitely the stator. If you have an 09-12 model you will also need to replace the regulator/rectifier that Kawasaki put on. Try to find a MOSFET style instead of the oem.

    • @randyhoffmann7426
      @randyhoffmann7426 4 роки тому

      Same thing happened on my 2012 Zx6r. Bought a new battery and it died shortly after. Just charged it and its been riding fine for a day. Gunna start it up again today but I'm thinking its going to die again. There is an active recall for 09-12 ZX6R's for their regulator rectifier so go get that fixed for free! Call Kawasaki to get more info

    • @cashusclay69able
      @cashusclay69able 4 роки тому

      They would replace mine again. But yeah same thing. Just died. Charged battery, lasted a day or 2. Popped cover on stator look at the coils, it was burnt. So I just bought both. Didn't need to fairing on the reg. Just one bolt up top. But that connector for the stator is a bitch!!! It's the plug part that runs to stator and reg.
