Escape the Desert Sun and Discover the tranquil Streamside Garden
#walkingtour #gardens #naturewalk
Hey Wanderers! This garden offers plenty of inspiration for creating your own desert oasis at home using native plants. Join us as we walk and explore the Streamside Garden, a hidden gem perfect for a little respite from walking the trails in the hot desert sun. Enjoy the soothing sounds of flowing water throughout the gardens and spot endangered species of native fish, like the topminnow and desert pupfish, living safely in the re-circulating stream and the grotto under the stairs. The garden also showcases plants found near perennial streams around Tucson. Don't miss the fascinating Geology Wall, where you can see and touch how the nearby Santa Catalina Mountains were formed. This charming garden is also a popular spot for brides-to-be planning small, intimate, outdoor weddings. Come relax and enjoy this beautiful desert oasis with us and get out of the sun!

Thank you so much for taking the time to compliment our visit to Agua Caliente Park, it really means a lot to us. This park really is quite amazing, it's hard to believe its in the Tucson desert and so close to the Catalina Mountains. Unfortunately there aren't any electric scooters or golf cart tours (that we're aware of), there are however quite a few paved trails but not what we would consider good access for someone using a walker. Most of the paved trails circle back on themselves and some have adjoining sandy trails. The bridge to the island is easily accessible from the main paved path but once you cross the bridge it's all sand and palm trees with a couple of benches to sit on. There are quite a few picnic tables in the park to sit and enjoy some shade, watch and listen to the birds, ducks, turtles and fish. We hope you get the opportunity to visit. We're so glad you enjoyed our video, we hope you'll continue to enjoy our content.

Hello! This was so fun to watch! 😊 What bikes do you use? I have a Trek road bike and Trek Cruiser, neither are suitable for sand, gravel, or rocks. I’d trade them both for a mountain bike so I could safely ride those types of trails. Thank you for your great content. I’m enjoying each one!

Hi @JillBelieves84, thank you for watching, we're so glad you're enjoying our videos. Don't trade your road bike or cruiser in just yet because we ride Huffy Mountain bikes which are very affordable. They've proved themselves great for dirt, sand, gravel, rocks and pavement, we have a lot of fun on them.

The Old Yuma mine was apparently the most successful mine in the Tucson Mountains. It's original claim dates back to 1872 and it was the last mine in the area to close in 1947. More information about its history (and other abandoned Tucson mines) can be found at exploretucsonmountains.com/tucson-abandoned-mines/ and check out www.mindat.org/loc-3372.html for even more detailed information and photos of the inside of the mine.

Hello! The plaque reads: “In memory of Tom Mix whose spirit left his body on this spot. And whose characterization and portrayals in life served to better fix memories of the old West in the minds of living men.” The metal silhouette of Mix’s steed - Tony the Wonder Horse - is near the spot in 1940 where the silent-film actor crashed and died in his era’s supercar, a 1937 Cord 812 Phaeton. He was an actor and trick rider who made close to 300 films from 1909 to 1934 and was paid as much as $17,000 per week. Hollywood portrayed Tom as an upstanding cowboy, with flashy Western garb and a signature Stetson. He became the standard for the Western heroes who followed him.
