The divine miss m was a creation of bill Hennessy and barry manilow. She was a phenomenon with this drag act. Her humor was gay humor, which is usually bitchy and funny as hell. Her first 2 albums with manilow are masterpieces.. they did create art. Barry is a genius at arrangements and musical direction. He had her do theatrical interpretations which were brilliant. Just as early Streisand’s were. Unfortunately, both streisand and midler abandoned what made them legends. They both became bores and schlock, as did barry.

I don’t understand how this song didn’t crack the Top 5 on the Billboard charts.

We saw this concert 7 rows from the stage. Sedaka played piano, then took a hand mike coming down into audience. He was terrific. Carpenters came out looking tired, played tape loops over some of their songs. Fans on stage blew Karen's pants against her legs showing how thin she was getting. Sedaka was the show. This was happening night after night. Richard couldn't take it anymore. Bye Neil!

😍 This is so beautiful, so natural, so wonderful. She doesn't scream her cords sore, shows off her "skills", basically jerks off into the microphone. A lot of female singers make my throat sore, like real physical pain. Pulling out all the stops, just randomly whisteling at the end of every line, won't sing one word without pressing a whole octave into two syllables, that feel like 50 but still is the one word, dragging every note through every register possible to show off riffs and runs; and also annoy.
