as someone that started 6 months ago and is still enjoying the side stories and intermezzies this pinch out thing is honestly the worst thing I've had to play, boring, repetitive, no real interesting gimmicks, at least with the characters i had at the time I could get the rewards and feel like i was getting better at the game when i tried cc12.
I m not even attempting this event since i m a newbie and my units get one shot haha I enjoyed the video still! Also, love the team ❤ i m trying to make my full husbando team :) slowly but i m making progress!
Holy shit props to you for even attempting this with maleknights. At first I was planning on doing my maleknights run but then when POO really dropped I'm just like 'nOPE'
The fact that the robots were taking hits from my Mylnor, Kalsits, and nearl the radiant knight scares me. Especially since it takes 4 minutes or more straight poking their hp by a tiny bit
I managed to get 600 boys only your opener and what you did with tequila and hung in the corner really helped me out a ton so thanks for sharing! I had to make quite a few adjustments tho. Broca and mizuki got swapped for chestnut and matterhorn. I used phantom s2 instead of 3. Puzzle was really the goat of this clear.

Yeah poo more like poop. Had to copy super meta clear with Mlynar and defenders. Though I flexed a little bit and did 625 (added 40% enemy atk and a random small risk for the arrows) just because yes. But it sucked so much compared to doing CC

The solid consensus is simple: without the psychotic statbloat, this experiment would have been tolerable. Now it's both stinky AND took something better away. 4-5 new game modes later, HG has proven beyond a doubt that they cant innovate for shit, AK fundamnetally isnt condusive to it, or, more tragically likely, a combination of both. For the first time in 3 years, i genuinely harbored ill will towards this game and the developer. Before i was just mildly coping and occasionally fanboying (at cool events/skins/CC's). "Its ok that its not Genshin or even Nikke; it's not tops on the leaderboards; the NA ads are super fking terrible; and the best parts (i.e. max risk Fake Waves) arent ever exposed to a new/wider audience." But now, I'm not in the mood for even that pretense. Just straight up fk HG and ShitCat.
You are high on cocaine if you think that. HG if anything has shown most innovation than any mobile gacha game out there in their events, gamemodes etc Roguelikemode with interactive mechanics (some arent but most of them are), Reclamation algorythm (A new perspective of seen a tower defense game), SSS (card mode within a TD game) They have been explored many ways to give the players different experiences meanwhile using the TD genre as a core, which not many gacha mobile games do (not even genshin impact in 3 years with all those crappy minigames) The statload its a way to balance the game since they are given away a lot of buffs to the players (modules/broken units) have u seen how is the game with texas alter and yato alter? Its a joke if the enemies don't have res/def increased, surely that'd make clear why they went through that route. And that's not new at all in gacha mobile games, in fact the majority of gacha games make the modes feel "harder" by increasing stats.
Old days CC tags be like : (X) enemy well enjoy 200-500 def increase. Pinch-out Experimental Operation be like : (X) enemy well enjoy 1800 def increase. Deal with it doctor 😞
I swear this is what the devs did to spite the people who say the game is too easy with modern operators, so instead of cc, they made a crap ton of the enemies' most tanky things to exist which makes any clear take hours even with true damage or high ignore of defense or res

Wait this is something people are struggling with? I haven't been keeping up with stuff and just assumed the problem with the event was that it was too easy. I did 600 without really thinking at all.

It's kind of just CC in name, still uses the same points system and similar UI as POO, though they made it less messy and more readable. From what I've seen though it's not as egregious as this one just by map and enemies alone, can't say anything about the tags tho.
Its a little weird to me how HG keeps pushing new game modes thay cater to accounts that are already well invested in with many built ops, yet refusing to improve the new player experience. And the way theres arknights ads rn that are like "worried about catching up in arknights? No worry! We are showering new players in gifts" yet its just 2 5 star selectors and what stuff you'd already get playing as a newbie that doesnt really kickstart you much. So disappointing to see, and i notice a majority of players that are active are pretty old. Its almost like having to play the same low sanity cost stages with manual restart hundreds of times isnt fun... and gating game modes' fun behind progressed account with well invested operator rosters isnt fun... come on now.
You brought up a very good point, they're very adamant on keeping things fresh for the old players that they don't really try to get new players to come in. I've had situations like these myself, where I have friends that'd start playing only to drop it a few days or weeks later cause the manual grind is too tedious. They are implementing things like Kernel Locating and in the future, the ability to auto multiple times, which are nice but the fact that it took them this long to implement them is not a good look. I think having some sort of trial stages with fixed built operators like some events have in the past, but with the solution more open-ended and the ability to choose the operators you want to bring can be fun. It also allows newer players to try out operators they might want to build or pull for. Make it permanent and rotating. Otherwise, increased mats drop rate, chance to drop boxes like in chapter events, and access to all farming stages for the first week of playing could be good too. Or just make an IS mode where temporary recruitment is guaranteed, can't go wrong with that.
@@dragonversee tbh, I'm not sure how HG would improve the new players experience for as much as I complain. I heard someone suggest instant promotion tickets at specific levels or something. I've personally struggled with the tedium lol, not that other gacha games don't have this problem but in Arknights I just didnt enjoy starting over on an alt either of the times I did it. Multi run auto is an exciting addition, but 6 month gap strikes again. Not so sure about Kern(a?)l locating since pulling a limited operator is just overall better (the limited system is its own whole issue) or I guess the usual rate ups and considering the incessant 50 50 fails in this game. I don't remember if kernal (what a weird name) ops or available only in kernal banner or if they're also available through standard headhunting. I think HG is trying to make the game modes newbie friendly in a way? Like SSS which got multiple nerfs (aside but personally I enjoyed how difficult it was). But they could've just considered these game modes as side content and give temporary ops to use as you mentioned. Like in SSS, make the available recruits post initial selection random temp ops at max level, IS, make that one temp ops rate up its own little side thing so people can actually play it and progress the battle pass (though i believe this was only one of the deep exploration on IS2?), etc etc. They had something good and interesting going with Trial for Navigator, but completely screwed it up in the latest run. Above all else though I just think the grind needs to be eased. Lower sanity consuming stages should at least be much shorter or have higher battle sanity cost and higher drop quantity with how many of them and how much of them need to be farmed early on. Early players could also use leniency during events, so they can farm what they need to while getting shop currency instead of being relegated to farming the same 9-18 sanity stage farming hundreds of grey/green tier mats they might not need. Of course, obligatory base management. It's value is crazy but the amount of time and ops it takes to really work well is crazy too. But who knows, maybe the polls I saw were just skewed to the endgame players that are watching the creators, and all the early-midgame players are just off in their own place enjoying the game. The game has progressed too much from its release, imo improvements are coming too slow compared to the content.
@@marielcarey4288Kernal Operators are only available in the Kernal banners and Recruitment. The 5 and 6 stars, that is, 4 star and lower are still available in all banners.
@@marielcarey4288 On the contrary, I actually quite enjoy starting over and doing some dumb account challenge. I've made multiple alts in the past, and while I've dropped most of them, it's always because I'm either busy or doing events multiple times becomes a chore. I guess that curiosity or just simply the will to challenge yourself helps through the tedium. Kernel Locating is meant to help players basically put the operator they want on rate-up or buy from the shop, granted it's limited to operators from launch to Aak/Ceobe but you do still have solid picks like Saria, Ifrit, Eyja, or Schwarz. Also yeah, operators in Kernel Headhunting (not Locating) are permanently removed from Standard Headhunting so you can't get them from off-banner anymore. I do understand the argument of just going for limited banners though, with how often it occurs and how most limited operators are either broken or really good, it's definitely a safe option. And I forgot to mention earlier but they're making it so that after 150 pulls, the next 6* is guaranteed on-banner which is way too high for a pity and it doesn't even guarantee it on the 150th pull, it guarantees it after so you can technically get it after 200. As for HG nerfing SSS, I think it's just cause having such high difficulty for something you need to farm every now and then is annoying and the community expressed that. I don't think it's really directed for newbies, after all you wouldn't really be farming modules so early on anyway. I think it's more likely that they'd make it so you can just skip the stages entirely rather than tampering with sanity cost and drop rates. Though they can take the middle road and do it like Reverse 1999 where you run the stage once but get multiple runs worth of rewards. For events, I think it's just the universal experience of many gacha games. When an event drops, all you can do is farm it, else you miss out on rewards. What I usually do with newer accounts is use the rewards in the shop to upgrade my operators to a point where I can farm any of the blue mats and just stockpile that. Though that comes from experience and knowing the worth of stockpiling long-term and is not something new players would know intuitively especially when the need to progress now far outweighs the need to save up for later. In terms of base management, coming from starting multiple accounts' worth of experience, getting a 252 going is much faster than you expect. Of course you do have to sacrifice a bit of progress to focus on base and some base workers. But if you're allocating your resources wisely, you're looking at maybe a decently comfortable amount of resources at 1-2 months. But again, it's very much something I know from experience, so it'd be expected for newer players to get theirs set up slower and thus prolonging that grind. It's expected for gacha games to release contents and events so quickly, especially ones like AK where events are only 2-3 weeks long at most. Playing Star Rail and Reverse 1999 lately, with their month long events have kinda made me realize that maybe it's something AK can do as well. It helps people who are busy and can't do the events right away, and newbies who just started can take their time with the event. Of course, it'll cause complications with dead weeks and having less events between limited banners. But I mean, if you're done farming the event, it's practically dead week anyway and who tf decided to have limited banners every few months. I do very much agree that for a game this old, AK churns out QoL improvements at a very slow pace. We only got annihilation skip tickets like a year ago, and it took them almost 5 years to implement multiple autos. Heck, claim all button wasn't even available on launch. Looking back, it does look very baffling.

I dont really get the complaints about the rewards. Yes they're quite a step down from orange/yellow tokens but the high tier mats are quite substantial. It doesnt look so bad when you look at it like a standard event shop minus the pulls or operator tokens. Remember that before, CC didn't have operators or skins and added them gradually. Also POO just isnt a very big event and assuming you use a guide and dont resort to iteration hell youll notice its much shorter than other events. I think the shop is fine, the event just isnt great.
also I like the event shop being small because if you don't want to do it you don't have to. Though you aren't heavily rewarded for your efforts. Pluses and minuses
@@marielcarey4288 The problem is that the rewards are too small for the challenge that it presents. I, for instance, needed to spend several hours to clear 540, only to then notice I only get the medal if I clear 600. In CC, it was fairly doable for a long time player to clear risk 18 in the first week, and the rewards would be quite nice. I for one really liked the supply boxes. I never opened them, I just keep them since they look so nice.
I just did it for Friston, no way I got invested in LoneTrail and not get my boy Friston from the event he was released on.
I had some fun with poo. I know everyone hates it but I swear if they took away the 1000% gunner tag it wouldn't get as much hate as it is getting. I also recognize that it is more annoying and no 6* tokens and such.

What discouraged me from poo, is that they made medal behind high difficulty (in term of time wasting and not power or hardness), thought they'll fix that, but nope, they raised it to 700 xD, im wondering who's giving ideas here.....

Endfield is coming out, conceivable that most of the main team has long been relocated there. Sad thing is, EF looked like a pointless mesh up of Factorio lite and HSR with the stereotypical un-flashy, shper-hard-to-hype art style of HG/AK. So now BOTH of HG's main IPs is going straight down the toilet. They really abandoned AK for THAT thing...

The inherent problem with Pinch-Out is that it's very uninspired compared to most CC. The map itself doesn't have interesting mechanics that would change how you play (i.e. Cinder's vent or Dawnseeker's darkness mechanic), which is understandable since it's DV-themed, but that's also the problem. DV's mechanics ARE the enemies, and they could've made it more interesting, say like making it so the dormant power suits slowly regenerate SP or since they act as blockades, you can move their spawns to change the enemy's initial pathing. But they chose the lazy way of just making the risks a statbloat, even though DV enemies already have quite high base stats. Another problem I touched on in the video, and it may just be a personal problem for me, but a huge part of CC is beating it with your own squad and strategy. As I said, even Risk 18 was doable for a newer account, with multiple different strategies too if you have access to the operators. Now, I'm not saying 540 is not doable for lower-end squads, but from what I've seen, it all boils down to bring a bunch of defenders and healers and let Mlynar do the damage. Having the maximum reward be really difficult to get is already discouraging, but needing a specific strategy to clear it is even more so. At the end of the day, if you like it then good for you. I'm just conveying what a portion of the community thinks and what I think as well. I personally don't mind a little bit of tedium and there are things about POO that I like, but with Arknights having been around for almost 5 years now on CN, you do have a certain expectation for quality. With CC being one of the most beloved game mode, I think it's just fair that the players would be disappointed when it was replaced for something that's ultimately not as well-made.
@@dragonversee Yeah, I managed three hundred risk fine with a relatively new account, so that's why I thought it was good. But watching some 600 risk attempts now I get what you mean. I'll also probably do 540 with a guide, if the unlocked risks from rotating sites don't throw me a line

I only start playing around 6 months ago so i could only participate in 2 CC but man, POO sucks CC11 was my first CC but it regarded as easiest CC yet people still enjoy it including myself very much, i think because CC was essentially "choose your own fight" type of deal if people find it way too easy they'll just play with their niches and trying to problem solve it on different way, there's so many impressive clear throughout CC1 to CC12 even i never ever gonna experience it myself, i still get some joy and genuinely found it fascinating how people play the game their own way because it's ultimately what makes AK special for me "creativity" also huge testament how they design CC with Variant difficulty,Completely fair, lenient and ultimately well design. and Now POO, when i tried to do 300 points for the mission i knew straight up what's going on. i didn't research about POO before release so when im looking up how's the R18 gonna looks like, its really dire. it's either "kill everything but the last 2 gundam for shorter time" or " kill everything and stall for 3-4 hours" im like what the hell ?i dont think its an improvement from CC or increasing the difficulty. its seriously just a stat bloat, like those FF boss absolute virtue that took 18 hours to defeat. there's no fun, it's tedious and ultimately everyone bring the same unit to solve the problem an completely Killed all the creativity. where's the casterknight?Supportknight,liberiknight,sarkazknight, or any niche people would attempt on every CC? POO clearly failure from design stand point, i havent seen anything beyond this point but if next POO will be the same as this it'll honestly kill my enjoyment for the high end content for AK.
The permanent map sucks and the risks force 600p+ to either become a damage and healing check or a long, long arduous stall. 540 is a lot closer to normal CC Risk 18 in difficulty, but again, Rhine Labs enemies.

my risk 18 on beta was won with mighty saria and astesia for i have no chen yet back then. i grinded m3 like madman saria s1, feater s1, lapp s2, ange s2 only to have a different strat in the end

although i started last year this cc makes me feel like ive been playing from the very beginning. the enemies in this map are so primitive compared to what we have now but its like compiling all the years of knowledge. sad ill never truly get to experience cc0 up to cc8
