Makarov Pistol (Before You Buy)
Переглядів 20 тис.2 роки тому
Taking a look at a couple of my makarovs and talking about prices and good options for a makarov pistol.
Does adding imported Romanian furniture take it out of compliance with 922R?
Were i get that furniture
For anyone wanting to know it will fit palmetto state armorys ak with some negotiating
WASR RH 10 is a nice banger..staight all over..brand new 700$
I like the thumbhole stock
Love mine, replaced the furniture and it’s good to go.
I used to own an original converted Wasr-10 rifle. It was definitely made with mismatched parts, and had canted sights. I gave it away to a friend and that was a major mistake. I have a Tula Arms Kit build now and that's a solid rifle but I miss my WASR-10. Also, Two River Arms in OKC will fix any flaws the WASR may have. They call it the WASR improvement program.
Ive had 4 of these never had a issue but once it was a shitty wore out mag was the problem and i threw that bitch rite into the garbage i still cant believe how much they cost now the first one i bought 20 or 21 years ago and i paid $299 brand new in box extra mags cleaning kit and bayonet came with it the last one i bought was about 5 years ago and i paid $600 for it and its worth every dollar
my bulgie was less than $100 back in the day. i bought a star bm for 99 back then and sks rifles could be had for anywhere from 69-99.
Im living in Switzerland and i got a russian Makarov with a spare mag and a holster (all serial numbers fitting) for only 450Fr. last year. I really love the high Quality, i have already shot 2 inch groups at 25m.
I bought my Makarov Bulgarian circle 10 almost 2 years ago. My favorite carry piece :) and probably my favorite handgun
Just so everyone knows parkerized finishes need to be oiled to repel rust they are pretty much a oil rag over the metal the OIL keeps the rust away not the finish itself
I have a slant cut and I got it as a NOS years ago. It didn’t look fired and the butthole stuck was not split on top. I’ve had Bulgarian, Romanian, Russian, Yugoslavian, American, and now Chinese. I would pick my MAK90 over any of them.
East German makarov are supposed to be the best- even more desirable than the Russian. Also if you get a Bulgarian makarov and it doesn’t have a circle with a 10 inside of it but instead has a circle with an arrow then it is really a Russian made makarov that was imported from Russia and often stamped with the word Bulgaria. Those are known as Russian “sneaks”
This was my first ak , 400$ plus 500 rds of 762×39 for 100$
Just picked up a 2011 model about a month ago. Has MagPul Zhukov Furnitureand Hogue grip. But I just ordered the blonde Romanian upper handguard, bayonet, and Bakelite grip to give it that Russo-Ukranian War look.
If you look around you can find them with the bayonet lug, at least you could a few years ago. Some have the slant brake tack welded on and some don't. I like the furniture you have on yours, where did you get the charging handle cover ?
I have an NHM-91 that came to me in a rough state but it was the only thing I could get for a fair price living in a pre ban state. Great gun but fitting new furniture was a chore and a half
WBP is a better value.
the blonde wood and blued metal of a chinese AK gives off such a classic vibe that is hard to beat
Wouldn't it need to be a US made stock and pistol grip to achieve 922r compliance? Along with trigger group and magazine?
Only if he is importing mak 90’s.😂
Yes. To legally change the factory thumbhole stock to a standard ak stock and pistol grip you have to either use USA made AK furniture, or if you want to use a chinese stock and pistol grip you need to swap out 5 of the imported parts for USA made parts if you are not installing a flashider, or 6 USA made parts if you are installing a flashider. The trigger group counts as 3 parts, but the front upper and lower handguards together only count as one part. There are guides online to help the owner navigate being legal when changing the stock and pistol grips. Search something like "making my mak-90 922r compliant" and the charts should pop up that help you.
I personally like the thumbhole stock better , thats why i purchased it in 93 .
Same here
The best blow back you can buy.
Can I change out the thumb stock for what you have in New Jersey?
ND133
What is the one with the aluminum frame?
NHM 90 👍
Better than the actual AK
The angle of the rivets is actually more structurally sound, think about how you place your nails when framing a house side to side nails will rock whereas diagonally placed nails hold better for longer
I like the thumbhole stocks I am bigger and it is beefier and about an inch longer
Loads of pin on muzzle breaks
I went back to the thumb hole stock on mine because i think it looks better lol. All of my friends with ARs seem to go through more of my 7.62 on range days than they do 5.56... maybe its because i always bring tons of brass... maybe its because the AK its more fun to shoot. They wont admit it lol
Yea ill stay with my M4 platform , anything Chinese made is garbage
Mine was made in 91 and still keeps up with my friends AR platforms... its like ford. Anything made before 1996 is mint. Unless you have had hands on one; you cant really talk shit about it. 🤣 over 6k rounds of cheap steel case with some brass mixed in with no issues. Keep crying while i keep having fun with my Chinese garbage
I love my MAK. I bought a virgin unfired MAK90 about 6 years ago. Its one of the few with a canted front sight so the owner was afraid to shoot it because he thought it was "unsafe Chinese garbage".. the gun is fine, regardless of the canted sight. Score for me!
If you have a slant cut mak90, i highly recommend Kalashni carver customs.
One of the best AK that I ever had they hard to get now
9x18 It is a little more powerful than 380acp
Can anyone tell me that if we can shoot 380 bullet through 9 by 18 chambered makarove???
You can get a 380 barrel but you'll need the jig to replace it.
I have an E. German Macorov 9x18. I really like it. Heavy but I like all its functions and reliability. Ammo is a bit hard to find and pricy. I have shot .380 out of it cause someone said I could, but not a good idea and since the slug is slightly smaller it wobbles out of the barell and you can't aim it at all. And definitely never try shooting a 9x18 out of a .380. Very dangerous.
[squats in slav]: BUY A WASR
Clown, you do realize that we Romanians are Latins, not Slavs, yes?
Great info 👍🏻 What type of muzzle device is on there? I assume that it originally came with a slant brake or a muzzle nut.
The v2 comes with a standard slant brake. The muzzle device is a Strela Wolf Fang AK74 style brake with a 14x1LH adapter.
Got it. Thanks for the reply.
Hahahah I like the black furniture it comes with. I'll get better tacticool furniture when I can afford zenitco but I bought an all black WASR 10 online bc it looked cooler than another one with wood furniture and it was priced pretty much the same. With that said I'm looking at a WASR 10/63 for 700 on that same website but the lever to hold the gas tube looks perpendicular up and down and I've not seen that on other AK's. I just hope it was only pushed down too far and not loose so much that it looks like that.
Chinese arms imports were banned in April of ‘94, and the Clinton ban was in September on ‘94. Any Chinese firearm is a pre-ban. They had the slant cut receivers imported before then. I believe they were the receivers made for the underfolder that had three rivets. Great video. Problem is trying to find Chinese wood stocks at a decent price.
Wrong, as "Pre-Ban" refers to Chinese AKs prior to 1990 had bayonet lugs & threaded muzzles with either a slant brake, or a muzzle nut. The "Modified AK of 1990" (MAK-90) made it illegal after Nov. 30, 1990 to have a pistol grip, threaded muzzle & bayonet lug, or folding bayonet, or a configuration to accept type 1 AK bayonets (Poly-Tech Legend style). A true "Pre-Ban" has a bayonet lug, or a folding bayonet, or an attachment for a type 1 bayonet (Poly-Tech Legend & some stamped Poly-Tech AKs).
How strange to have simple Chinese wooden stock importation to be a Felony while Bill Clinton & Eric Holder were giving El Chapo and the Sinaloa Drug Cartel 1000s of AK-47s for FREE at the SAME TIME, as the importation of Chinese AKs & Chinese wood stocks were a Felony, yet importers could import Romanian AK-47s with pistol grips & folding stocks???
How would the front sight being canted cause any type of gas issue?
Kalashnikova is female. Should be Papa Kalashnikov.
I know of one with a bayonet lug
I picked up a wasr10 today. Came with magpul junk. I have that exact furniture that I’m going to put on it.
Haha sweet, not a big fan of polymer myself, there are way nicer things to put on an AK than magpul anyways.
sir can i purchsase?.. thank you..
Up to $1400? Here in Massachusetts i see for $2-2.5k
Haha some people think they have pre-ban Polytech Type 56s on their hands which if they did then you're easily paying over $2k but i believe current market value of these stamped MAK/NHM rifles is still around $1400 in original configuration. If you're ever wondering on a price of a firearm I recommend going on gunbroker and searching for completed auctions to get an idea of what people are paying for them. Thanks for the comment.
I carry a Satin version of of the IJ70-17A as my backup CCW.
