this video randomly popped up in my recommendations... I haven't been in HTTYD fandom for 2 years now, (ironically) I left almost right after this show came out. I once saw someon's video about it and thought "It can't be that bad, I gotta check it out!" .... It was a mistake. I made a marathon after the 1st season was fully out. For the whole day I was watching IT. My brain was hurt, my body was filled with hatred and frustration. Sometimes I watched the videos discussing this show, even participated in some heated comments battles, but then I left the dragons Now, after the trailer of HTTYD live action is out, I returned. Again, angry and frustrated. I hope this video will help me focus my anger on something else lol

Just a random thing I thought about roughly an hour into watching this was about the dragon’s shot limits: I feel like it’s more accurate to say that any species can fire as much as they want, it’s just that the number is a recommended amount or some kind of average, since firing shots constantly would likely damage them internally So even if Toothless’ is 6, he could do more in an emergency, it just won’t feel nice on his throat (I also thought of this mainly bc I rewatched ROB/DOB recently and got reminded of Eel Pox)

For me it was not that bad and it was nice to see the dragons evolution

The dragon you dont know what it is, is a skrill, which is a dragon from the shows, so they seem to be bringing in more variety, however that also kind of affects the story, especially for the show itself since the skrill was supposed to be like a rare and special dragon or whatever

When you see the flock of dragons flying away from the mountain, you can see a rumblhorn and maybe a slitherwing. It’s hard to make out the scene. Edit: I see that you have pointed out the rumblhorn.

People will complain if its shot for shot and people will complain if they change even small things lol (given its the same director as the original feel he is more trustworthy of a person to make some changes then some random smuck who things they know better then then Original writers witch plagues the industry now. How many shows and movies have writers act as if they know better and inject it with modern politics and what not lol The director said its NOT going to be shot for shot. will be cool if they add some deleted scene since live action movies are longer then animated ones so can have time for them and to flush things out more.

i think with the buffalord it was mentioned somewhere that it can smell the special grass it eats from a ways away? its been a while since i watched rtte so that might not be correct so itd make sense to be tracker, more than mystery imo

I rly hope they just make the dragons in general have some weight to them, and not feel very light... in general they should have hopefully taken some inspiration from house of the dragon. Cuz they are masters at dragons now imo... and yeah tbh i hope they add some more scenes of Toothless actually being a predator, and possibly attacks other dragons at night.

I honestly wish this was a new adaptation of the books rather than a remake of the DreamWorks films

One of my biggest issues with live-action remakes is when they change things for the live action, especially when the animated version is already perfect (A perfect example of this is Avatar, it had so much potential), so I am personally glad they seem to be wanting to do a replica. I already know I won't love the newest one more than the original animated trilogy, because again, it was already perfect, but the effort being put and the thought behind it from the director, for me it's enough to be satisfied and actually excited about it for now. And the design of the dragons??? Oh my goodness, THAT COULD'VE GONE SO SO SO SO WRONG... I hadn't even noticed the other dragons until this video and I am so pleased with them actually. I'm so glad this story is being revived

Everything looks passable for me, except Hiccups actor It felt like he was way over acting in the trailer, so I’m a bit worried about the rest of the film

not even 5 mins in just hearing the show was set around 1000 years later just gave the impression it'd be an insanely bad show already but holy shit the character designs make that even worse

imagine how hiccup and astrid would feel seeing their descendant beating the shit out of an animal and using their names and lifes work as a reason for it

It makes sense that the most dangerous class of dragon to a Viking is mostly made of medium size but incredibly fast and agile dragons. It’s easy for a Viking to hit a huge slow moving target with artillery, but how do you hit smth like a night fury with a catapult😭

NGL, it looks amazing. Toothless looks perfect. The music gave me the feels along with the iconic first touch. Movie is not necessary and I was firmly against this until I saw this teaser. I’m on board now.

Mixed feelings honestly but I'll wait until it hits theaters

Personal fix Season 1 Ep 1 make the heirloom with the symbol hiccups story. In the first how to train your dragon movie hiccup narrates so that would be the book. MC family just thinks it is a bedtime story book. The family also values intelligence more than stregnth but MC isn't that smart. I agree with changing meteor opening to earthquake. MC falls after an earthquake not deep enough to have lasting damage but he can't climb up. Suddenly something below catches his attention and he goes down out of curiosity. He ends up in the dragons cave, where he sees thunder trying to make friends by drawing like toothless but fails. MC notices this dragon looks like the symbol on the book and so tries to befriend it. The dragon not knowing what he is, gets ready to fight then MC tries drawing, which lowers thunders guard and so he sniffs MC before leaving. MC leaves and waits to get picked up when a small invisible chameleon drone sees him exit ep ends.

I feel like half the issues is corporate meddling. Even still, I wish someone from fans would make an "official" project for community reimagiging combining the efforts of creators to make series worthy of the franchise. I suppose. I do not exactly know what more to say about it. I myself as writer do different kind of writing and storytelling that may not be too suitable for children's show due to tough messages. Same messages that the show could have expanded upon and utilized. I feel like things were infantilized in here. Thus it is not exactly up to quality due to that maybe. Because as you shown in the screensketches of scenario, they could not show even a single gun. Thus the security officer could not execute security duties... because he is not shown to have necessary tools to do it in the first place.

A thing I like about this is that they appear to be using the redesigned dragons from the live show they did a while back for this Which is a cool little Easter egg I feel

Another design thing that annoys me with Thunder compared to Toothless is the wings. They actually put science behind Toothless’s design. With Toothless’s the wings connecting from his upper shoulders to hips- and making his body more streamlined allows it to be more believable of how he could fly. With Thunder- who already looks inbred- his proportions would make it impossible to fly- Those tiny wings and huge chest and smaller tail and hips would make him fall out of the sky 🙃.

And now we're getting a live-action remake (which I'm personally excited for, even tho I'm not really a fan of these remakes).

I’m not interested in seeing it, as I don’t really care about live action remakes of animated movies. But since your channel had you talked about Rescue Riders and the Nine Realms, it’ll probably be better then the last two How To Train Your Dragon Shows as the Remake to the first movie is connected to the first movie. The best one. Unless you’re a HTTYD2 Purist, which I am.

I watched this show all the way through the beginning of Season 8 from when they were originally released. It was interesting to see how my experience devolved as I kept watching it, even though while I was watching it, I became more aware that you, and other HTTYD based UA-camrs hated it. My distain for the Nine Realms had to progress as the show was continuing. So it grew overtime is what I’m saying. Somewhere around the third episode of Season 8 was when I immediately dropped watching it. The series got worse over the course of its run, and I’d say it’s another example as to how DreamWorks has gotten worse after Universal’s acquisition. I wouldn’t call the Nine Realms complete garbage though, it’s more so C tier at best. But I will say it’s not a good show if that’s what you’re doing. It’s not the worst DreamWorks Show (As Madagascar A Little Wild was just that awful, that no other DreamWorks show, not even a show like Megamind Rules could top it off)… but it’s just as lame as any other fantasy based cartoon staring a bunch of teenagers.

they also changed Toothless's hind legs, they used to have only a bend in the knee, but now hey have an ankle, i have a mixed feeling about it.. And also i hope that they will not remove the scene where Toothless draws on the sand... it's one of my favorite scenes from the animated movie.
