Small Amp, Big Effects Guitar Pedal Experiment!
"Toan is in the Dremel"
I made one of these myself and they sound really cool! The LEDs are my favorite type of diode for this circuit, not only because of the sound, but because they glow and react to the music you're playing. Germanium diodes might be worth a try too. I made mine with female headers to easily take diodes in and out (or bypass them with jumper cables for clean amplification). I also added a 10Kohm potentiometer and 33nF capacitor in series between pins 1 and 5 for a bass boost effect, and an 1Kohm potentiometer right before the output jack to bring the volume down to headphone level, or at least a level that's not deafeningly loud 😅 definitely a fun project to work on!
@@Mr.Engine993 super cool good job 👍👍
Looking forward to seeing the finished guitar. Happy new year!
@@Comment-Leaver happy new year!!🥳🥳
I currently am using my new fender mustang amp, every amp I’ve had has the same issue, constant buzzing. I have three guitar cables, two past amps, and have tried other my other guitar my Ibanez and there is still buzzing but whenever I touch anything metal it instantly goes quiet again, when the cable is unplugged from the amp there is no buzzing, same if volume is all the way down on guitar, but as soon as I put volume up on either guitar it starts making a buzzing noise again and I don’t really know what to do. It’s next to my pc and I shut that off as well and it’s the same buzz, I also got an extension cord and it still has a buzz. Can anyone help me? What can I do?
@@JKBreezy7096 it could be that your guitar needs to be shielded or maybe you have the smp and the computer on the same outlet and it making an interference there are special cables for your amp that blocks the interference from the outlet so try it it could be ground issues with the guitar but as you've tried two different guitars I think its more likely something else
@ alright I’ll try those out, thank you for your help. I think it might have to do with my homes outlets or something possibly as well.

So what would the difference be between red and green led, I was trying to look up differences and all I found was minor mA differences
@@statc0313 I can't say there is one but as they are admitting light at different "frequencies" for lack of better words so maybe there could be maybe start with white light as it had all colours in it🤷♂️
Every color of LED starts emitting light at a different voltage (usually 2.2V for red, all the way up to 3/3.5V for blue and white). This voltage determines how loud a signal should be so that the LEDs let it go through (and also distort it). There might be minor differences between different colors of LED because they clip st slightly different points but not a significant difference
The amount of effort you put in drawing that door 😂 Anything worth doing is worth overdoing
Just in case someone misses the comments below, I will re-state. The opening expanation is 100% wrong. Noise that goes away when you are touching the strings, and comes back when you are not touching them, is NOT a ground problem. It is a sign of a correctly grounded guitar. Otherwise the noise would not go away when you touch the strings. When you touch grounded strings, the guitar is then grounding YOU - your big body noise-attracting antenna. That's what makes the noise go away. You will note that he does not actually demonstrate that grounding the guitar made the noise when not touching the strings go away. Because that cannot happen. The fact that you get noise when not touching the strings means that you are in a noisy environment, and usually have an unshielded guitar. Shielding the guitar with grounded shielding, or finding a less noisy environment, should help with that. If the noise does NOT go away when you touch the strings, THAT usually indicates the lack of string grounding (most often via the bridge).
Where can I get one of those devices that you used for the in/out on/off with alligator clips?

@@AgionOros are all pedals true by pass?
this was informative, thank you. do you have any tips on rounding the pickup covers? I thought about scraping the sharp edges then smoothing them out with micromesh, but am afraid it will make it look too obvious
try using 400 grid sand paper on a flat lollipop stick and run it along the edges and smooth it out the 400 grit will take off very little so it will take some time to over do it so just check it as you go and stop once you're where you'd like to be good luck 😁 let me know how it turns out!

There's sadly a common mindset of Conservative thinking amongst Guitarists. I am not of that mindset, I like to make my guitars unique. Not one of my guitars is stock, each has something personalised on it. Tinker and tweak to your hearts consent!
@@seanbarker4610 I have some guitars that are stock but that because for now I want them that way I think it all good as long as everyone is ok and having fun😀 but I agree personalise it as much as you want 😁
I just wouldn't buy an r9.. I don't like em. Not my style. I see your point but I have fun challenging myself to polish a turd. Like the 60 cycle hum guy said a glarry/ktaxon was complete trash. I bought one hoping for more work than I ended up doing. Got a perfect guitar to make weird noise with. I found all the work worth it, but I kind of took it as a personal challenge. I had to shim the neck, cut the nut to get it more playable. Things I didn't have to do is replace the bridge and string trees with rollar parts to enjoy the trem more like I do my Jay Turser, I also replaced the trem system because he was 100 percent right about it. I didn't go crazy buying a new one, just a 25 dollar replacement with a push in arm. I also didn't have to install a toy Laser gun in it or a kill switch. Again I have no regrets, and expected it to be horrible, and it was. Not as horrible as he made it out to be though 😅😂
