I guess it's true, D&D DOES help with socialization and improving one's confidence

This was really well done. When I was their age and playing D&D, you were lucky to have 1 girl in the group. (That was not someone's girlfriend.) I can only imagine how much different game sesions would have been with 2. When you should the boy in the wheelchair and he said what he said it reminded me of the trilogy- Guardian's of The Flame, written back in the early 80's iirc. Well done🙂

Where is the quality AI dnd project that runs for a full, old-school Campaign, and then another, and then another..? :) it's 2024. we should have a good dozen of them by now. :P

I have been gaming off and on since 1980. Friends I gamed with in the 80s' are still my friends and some of them I am gaming with now.

Two years later, this short is still amazing. I wish it had subtitles though.

The characters they played were the ones they looked up too, just so happened to be their parents.

In the end, this is what D&D is all about. Not the quest, the characters, the fantasy world, but getting together with friends and connecting to real people while using your imagination. And let's remember to give proper credit to J.R.R. Tolkien, who created the high fantasy genre, the quest, the team, the characters, etc., that inspired so much of the D&D world. Let me close by saying that I rarely am moved by a film, but I was moved by this one, by it's very real human drama that is at the core of the D&D experience. Thank you so much for touching my heart today.

What a feat! I'm beyond words! You guys managed to conceptualize the very essence of D&D. A gate between Reality and Fantasy which you enter by carrying with you everything you are. No matter which side of the gate you enter or leave, you will always carry something from the other side with you, while leaving something else behind. Amazing!

This is incredibly awesome! You really got to the essence of DnD and tabletop RPGs in general. The bonds, the shared memories and the lifelong friendships it forges. I am not ashamed to admit that this brought me to tears. Thank you for doing this!

This just made me feel good all around and the angst of the parents having problems and Max being able to immerse himself into a fantasy world to get away from it. Making new friends and his parents worked things out. All in all a wonderful fan film. I hope to see more of the kids adventures! :) Well done!

I was not prepared for the reveal that the entire time Max was picturing his two admired companions as his parents. That is just really good storytelling right there.

This us EXACTLY what the next D&D movies should be. We focus so much on the game, but Its actually more about the people and fellowship at the table.

Better than what the new D&D movie will be

UA-cam showed me this just now (afthe one whole year...). Great idea and it had heart. That's all that needs to be there to be a good short. I had to roll nat20 at the end to feel like a man again.
