Dara Mormile, Brooklyn Chapter Representative for the Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation. My mission is to connect families and those affected by esophageal cancer. My father passed away of EC in 2010 and I am currently representing the Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation. I coordinate a 5k run/walk every year in September dedicated to EC and those lost to the disease. There are no screenings, no mandatory tests and very little funding is put towards this cancer. Please subscribe and help us fight this lesser-known cancer, which is often caught in later stages when it's too late to effectively treat and patients often die within 5 years of diagnosis. Join us on our mission!

6th Annual EC Awareness 2024 Opening Speech
Welcoming participants to our 6th Annual Esophageal Cancer Brooklyn/NYC event on Saturday, September 14th 2024. Hundreds attended this emotional and historical day in Marine Park Brooklyn. This event was also dedicated to Michael Flores, who was fighting esophageal cancer as he ran last year's 5K and spoke to the crowd about his intent to fight to the end. He sadly lost his battle a few days before our event but his family joined us in full force to honor his legacy and keep his memory alive.

How and where to purchase the RSO? How is she doing, Aug. 2024?
@@lynnmattox3207 Carrie is doing well and still getting clear scans. I will be hopefully coordinating a follow up Live with her in the next month to answer your question. Thank you!
That hostess should let the women speak.
Hi everybody, I am sending the following message for anybody that is struggling with cancer. I hope it helps you. I live in South Africa. The sun is always shining here and there is always the risk of developing skin cancer if you have a light skin. I developed a growth on the lower eye lid of my right eye. I do not know if it is cancer or just a benign growth but I went on a high nutrition diet for about two months and the growth have shrunk noticeably. I would like to share the diet with you. The soup Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat. Just add all the ingredients in a pot, add boiling water and switch the stove on high till the water boils. Then lower the heat until the water simmer, Let the soup simmer for an hour. The soup is now ready. I would only drink water in the morning. At 12h00 I would start eating the soup. There will be about two helpings that you can eat in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. I also ate a fruit salad every day in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. (Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.) During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you. I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be healed. Amen. I would also like to share the following six videos with you about salvation and two videos about evolution: Evolution vs. God ua-cam.com/video/uc_W9VtzJ0A/v-deo.html DESTROYING Evolution In Under 3 Minutes ua-cam.com/video/sWecPwrQv2c/v-deo.html Watch the Holy Spirit Work in Her Heart (Very Moving) ua-cam.com/video/iBEoI2u6kII/v-deo.html Fearing The Lord, God’s Discipline & Sharing The Gospel ua-cam.com/video/dES5WW66Mro/v-deo.html A Clear Gospel Presentation by Pastor Steven Anderson - How to go to Heaven ua-cam.com/video/IXEeMWCxyrQ/v-deo.html The Plan of Salvation ua-cam.com/video/PmkhRMPvt_0/v-deo.html How to Get Saved ua-cam.com/video/ajWdkuvrT6s/v-deo.html The Truth About Hell (Selected Scriptures) ua-cam.com/video/AVzbh_dLq3s/v-deo.html Best regards Chris “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John 3:16 (King James Version Bible) Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son Of God the Father.
Interviewer talking and interrupting too much. Distracts from subject's story flow.
That's what I thought.
Would that lady stop talking so much.
@@PatAcosta-vr5ol I am the host and coordinator of the interview and that is how an interview works- one provokes and the subject answers Also me and the Carrie are on different time zones conducting this so the response is delayed with questions. Thank you for watching
@@spiritjourneyme as the interviewer it is important to have a conversation style approach while also keeping in mind Carrie’s time zone is different than mine so it appears to have an overlap in q&a. Thank you for watching!
I watched your entire video. Thank you for taking the time to detail your experience. Your story confirmed the scenario that I had visioned. I am also stage T1B. My options given to me by the thoracic surgeon after my resection were check back every few months to check the progression of the cancer or have an esophagectomy. I could not put my wife and kids through the cost of procedure after procedure all the while risking the cancer spreading. When I heard possibly three years left vs possibly 30 years left with my family I decided to go for the 30. My hope is that after this surgery I can get to work within a few months and repair the financial damage so that my wife and kids continue to have an environment that is stable and healthy. I just could not stand the thought of every few months going in and paying for tests and wondering “what now. “ I hope that after the esophagectomy, the cancer will be completely gone and that I will be able to focus on quality of life. Hopefully that will be a long life that I can enjoy with my children and someday I will feel peace, knowing I made the right decision. These decisions are so difficult. With the information that we have, there are no right or wrong decisions just real people trying to do the right thing for themselves and their families. I would love to know how you’re doing now. Maybe you will find this comment. I am going to have the best Thanksgiving ever. One week from Thanksgiving. They will remove my esophagus.
Thank you for sharing your story here. I hope that this finds you doing well following your esophagectomy. It's now been 3 years since I completed my own regimen and to date remain cancer-free. I still continue to monitor things regularly in which I will continue to do likely for the remainder of my life.

That's great to hear. Knowing people like you that got through it keeps me going. Thank you!
@@PatrickMinno how are you doing what cm was your cancer?
It's been one year and 7 months since I found out adenio cell carcinoma Stage 3 but T2 N.I went through 1 day week chemo,5 days a week radiation, surgery & every 2 weeks immunotherapy. After 6 months the immunotherapies had to stop.Side effects it pause respiratory failure with edema in my lungs. On Oxygen and progesterone for 5 months now. They said, I should be off soon.IT No cancer detected now.The dumping syndrome is the horrible part for me..
@@joannefonceca7446 try dextrose energy it stops the dumping syndrome. Also avoid sugars and fast sugar releasing carbs
There is hope. I was diagnosed in 2006. Fortunately, I had an endoscopy for a stomach problem and they found bad cells in my esophagus at that time, so stage 1. I was offered an esophagectomy which I accepted. It took about 6 months to recover and, like Billy, I sleep elevated. It’s also difficult to lay flat for any length of time, so that could be a problem for some people. It still is for me. But I’m still here after 17 years, eating and drinking normally as long as I’m sensible. My problem was caused by smoking and excessive alcohol consumption most evenings after work, and eating a meal before going to bed. Don’t do it people!!
Thank you for sharing your experience and I’ve heard the same from many survivors about laying down and change of how they rest. Bless you for making it through the surgery! We are hoping that education about treatments helps those fighting to make better decisions. If you would like to be featured in an up-coming series and can access Facebook to join me for a live video let me know and we will speak about the details. Thank you again for giving hope to the hopeless!@philgriffiths951
