'Why': This is a difficult question. The problem with this question is that we are trying fit the infinite consciousness within a finite mind. But the best answer I've come to understand is that "Consciousness is the Absolute Infinite Existence. As the Absolute Infinite existence, it exists in Infinite ways(in every way possible.), It exists in the state of non-creation(Avyaktha) where there is nothing but consciousness alone. It also exists in the Manifested state(Vyaktha) where that pure consciousness alone is expressed and manifested in infinite forms.(As galaxies, animals, birds, etc.,)." But I'm curious. Which other philosophy/religion answers this question according to you?

@@adhvaitha The best answer that I have come to understand is as per Madhwa Siddhanta or Tattva vaada. The reason why God creates this universe is due to his karunya or mercy on sentinent beings who are not yet manifested as life forms in the universe. It is for the sadhana of these souls or beings to be born in this universe and attain their destination as per the innate nature of these beings. The destination of these beings are one among three which are 1) Attain moksha for satvic beings 2)Attain andha tamas(Eternal hell opposite to moksha) for tamsic beings 3)Be in eternal cycle of birth death and rebirth for Rajasic beings. If God doesn't create the universe and make these souls be born then these souls get wasted away by not manifesting their innate nature and not attaining their destination. Hence this is the divine mercy or karunya of the God that is the reason for creation of universe. This is just the high level overview that I got to know and has convinced me thus far regarding the reason for which God creates universe 😊

@@adhvaitha Souls are also eternal like God, and each soul has its own innate nature, which is also eternal. It is eternal like time and space. We cannot argue why something eternal exists (it's like arguing why time or space exists). Similar to God, time, and space, all infinite souls (and their innate nature) are not created by anyone, not even by God. To simplify, at a very high level, God functions as a gardener who sows the seeds in the garden, i.e., God makes souls take birth in the universe. It is in the innate nature of souls to perform actions, or karma, according to their nature (including the first karma in their very first birth). God simply enables these souls to perform actions (just like how a reflection performs actions similar to the actual individual), as they are incapable of acting on their own. The belief that God creates suffering arbitrarily is wrong. God gives suffering as the outcome of bad deeds. Ultimately, God gives suffering as a consequence of the bad deeds of tamasic beings. We can understand this through the analogy of a gardener who sows seeds of different types. Some seeds grow into trees that bear sweet fruit, while others grow into trees that bear bitter fruit. The destiny of the seeds lies in their very nature, and the gardener does not interfere with the kind of fruit they bear. One might argue that if God is omnipotent, why can't He change the innate nature of souls, make everyone happy, and thus prevent suffering? Yes, God is fully capable of doing so, but He does not change what is eternal. (This can be considered a fundamental law of the universe.) By not altering the innate nature of souls, God remains impartial toward all souls or jeevas. This is what I have understood from different Dvaita scholars. There may be more fundamental and advanced concepts that we need to grasp in the broader context of Indian shastras or philosophies, but I believe this is just a summary of the reason behind the creation of the universe😊

Because of the limitation of the mind, we look at Consciousness and bliss as 2 separate things. The Ultimate reality is sath-chith-ananda. It is one.

If you consider the 'Dream' to be real, then for you the world is real. If we conclude 'Dream' experience was simply an appearance, then even this world can be an appearance.

Maya is simply the creative potential, the appearance in Brahman.

The point Advaita makes is that the lower reality is illusory. It ultimately does not exist.

Consciousness is not quantifiable. Consciousness is not in body, the body is in Consciousness.

Achintya bedha abedha leans more toward Dvaita philosophy.[Im not very familiar with it]. Pure jnana may not need 'bhakti' or personal god. But to achieve that jnana 'bhakti' and a personal god is very useful.
