Thank you for your informative and well organized presentation. I have been a rock hound interested in mineralogy since childhood, I’m in my 50’s now, and have rarely come across a more well made explanation of regional and specimen varieties. Your microscopic images were truly remarkable and gave me views of petrified wood and other plant type species that I have never seen before. That’s saying a lot as I have been interested in and had access to view some amazing and rare specimens. I was just introduced to your channel today and am so glad the algorithm gave me the opportunity to watch your channel and learn more about the wondrous marvels that nature has created and that we have the privilege to view. I look forward to seeing more of your content and thank you for putting the time and effort that this quality presentation requires!
What a wonderful video, thank you. May we always value wonder over greed. 💜
Excellent presentation. 🐚🐚🐚🐚
I appreciate the content. Good job presenting too. Most enjoyable.
brillant !
Thank you!
Excellent video on petrified wood the best I’ve seen, and I like the voice of the person, speaking knowledgeable , clear, and friendly. Yes, petrified wood is very hard. I have a piece I’ve been working on to polish and it’s much harder than the rainbow obsidian and other interesting stones I’ve collected. Thank you.
thank you Bear. Your videos always make me smile. Beautiful birds.
Thank you for nice comment!!!
God blessed me with your knowledge!
This is the best petrified wood video I've come across, Bravo!!!
Thank you!!!!!
Again? I don't understand why you haven't added bird ids
I'm not sure that ID will be correct and changing it would be impossible after uploading the video. I added time stamps in the description for those birds that were tentatively ID'd. Thank you for your comment and attention to the videos! Cheers!
I've been binge watching all of your birds of California videos. They are great.
Nice videos! Interesting to observe the different feeding behaviors . I wonder what camera and lens you use?
Hi there! I'm glad you like the videos. Most of them taken with Nikon Coolpix cameras, several generations of high zoom (60, 83x). The latest are P900 and P950. They last for 1-2 years providing amazing images but I have a feeling that eventually the quality degrades probably due to filters in front of the sensor and sensor itself likely gets damaged by multiple exposures to light. By the way, this is mostly my mom's footage and she always carries the camera with her. Cheers! P.S. The first episode was shot also with Sony HDR-CX405 camcorder with 60x zoom. It is still in good shape despite age but the colors are not as vivid as during its early years.
most of science is complete b.s. stalamites don't take millions of years to form and we r not on the moon.
Sure, if we would be on the moon, we would see Earth in the sky.
Nice! Looks a lovely place. How's things going with you chum?
Hi Nigel! Nice to hear from you. I'm moving through required courses and write opinion articles for local newspaper. What about yourself?
@@BearSFthank you for replying, I have been catching up on lots of projects around home, just the old boring stuff that needs doing always and some hobbies I enjoy. Lovely to see you still have time to explore new places. Catch you later. 👍
Weren't theses like basically big shotguns
Welcome back! Good to see that you're still making videos! 🙂
Nice video. There is an infectious wasting disease that has devastated abalone populations across the west coast. Nice to know the population maybe rebounding.
Fascinating and well done’
Отличные съемки , молодцы!
Amazing video!
very interesting topic on "radioactive" on these fossils
Another great video! Thanks!
This was a really interesting video! Thanks!
Excellent video! Thanks! I just found your channel today and I subscribed after watching this video!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thank you for info on radioactivity. Very useful .
Thank you !! You helped my new hobby immensely!! Best wishes ❤️
Thank you for the nice comment. It's great to know that our video could be useful. Cheers!
Чудо природы!
I grew up next to this trail. Glad to see it's still in tact and being used! If you cross Hallmark Dr. the trail continues all the way up to St. James you can access the watershed trails which have their own great views of 280 and the lakes. When I was a kid there was no underpass for the railroad at Ralston and El Camino. There were two very old buildings.. one was an antique shop and the other was a hotel(?) that was moved close to Twin Pines Park in the 90s. Thanks for the video!
This info is amazing!! We're headed to Santa Barbara to beach comb soon, my daughter is itching for discovery and adventure. I can't wait to watch this video with her so we can take notes 🧜♀️🐚
You need to check some "REAL HISTORY OF ABALONE". I started commercial diving for Abalone in 1963. I did OK as I always tried to follow the F&G rules. I made a living but sure didn't get rich. The season was only 10 months lone. I quit commercial diving for Abalone in 1966. We new about the Sea Otters were moving in and the destruction they were doing. They were one of the biggest reasons most Aba divers started diving for Sea urchins. But the sea Otters ended a good share of them. When you don't know about the history of a business you should not try and convince people that you do. Get the Book "The California Abalone Industry . A Pictorial History " by AL "Scrap" Lundy. . Gman
Thank you for the comment and interesting info from first hands. One thing is not clear is that sea otters inhabited the waters for thousands of years, yet the abundance of abalone early last century was epic. It's only when people started harvest resources without control and put the mollusks into cans, the population dropped significantly. It's so typical of people to put blame on some other species. Same story was with bat rays and oysters. "the oyster growers were actually causing the destruction of their own oyster beds by trapping bat rays, which eat crabs."www.montereybayaquarium.org/animals/animals-a-to-z/bat-ray#:~:text=But%20recently%20researchers%20discovered%20that,bat%20rays%2C%20which%20eat%20crabs". What humans call "history" is just a collection of biased stories like yours. Did dipper, consider all facts and you will come to surprising conclusions. Cheers!
Check out Abalone Farm in Cayucos California that grows these creatures for human consumption.
New subscriber always watching your videos very interesting❤I have 1 petrified wood about 7kg
Awesome! Thank you!
Asi@n are stealing them to selll in restaurants
Absolutely stunning, I think I am going to have a lot more respect to petrified wood.
I think I am going to see petrified wood with a lot of respect from now on .. damn. So nice.
Hello, wonderful to see and thanks for the info!! Greetings Gijs
That was really nice. I love the shells and I believe it’s time to leave the seas alone. Is it really necessary to eat molluscs? Or anything else that’s. Alive and living in the sea. Thank you for sharing..⭐️
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Love their behavior. Thanks for showing it!
