Reviewing the latest bearing assemply for FOX X2 2025
In this video, we’ll take a look at a rare and innovative new bearing assembly from Fox, designed for the X2 model from 2021 onwards. This bearing was introduced just a few months ago and hasn’t yet been included in official parts and drownings lists. It’s the third in a series specifically engineered to address the issue of built-up air. The part is identified as the 812-06-125-kit, replacing the earlier 812-06-118-kit

The differences between the new FOX X2 bearing assembly 2024 and the previous model.
Переглядів 25910 місяців тому
In this video I demonstrate the differences between the new FOX X2 bearing assembly found in 2024 X2 models and the those from 2021-2023. The latest bearing designed addresses the issue of air buildup on dumper oil, and is also compatible with the previous model.
How to repair a leak on Rockshox charger damper 2.1 ( lyric, pike, boxxer)
Переглядів 2,9 тис.11 місяців тому
As is known, lyric, pike and boxxer charger damper can develop a specific issue: leakage from high speed compression knob. At this video I show how to repair this leak with universal spare parts. Just two o-rings. I don't show how to disassembly the damper. But you can see the process on the push industries manual (which explains how to put it's own compression unit)
Why I chose an 11-speed drivetrain over a 12, and how I made the switch
Переглядів 1,2 тис.11 місяців тому
Today I decided to stop using my 12-speed drivetrain which includes a GX cassette 10-50, a SLX derailleur and a deore shifting lever. I will replace it with an 11-speed which includes a garbaruk cassette 10-50 (so I keep the same gear range) a deore derailleur and a SLX shifting lever. The result is amazing!!!

What did you do to alleviate the issue?

Fox x2 performance with kashima stanchion 😂
Yes, the old one broke, and there is no black one available as a spare part, so we used the Kasima 😅
I wish my calipers and rotors worked so even and precisely like they’re supposed to. I constantly have a very slight drag. I’ve done so much to eliminate it and I’ve gotten pretty close but it’s never perfect. I’m almost positive. It’s because I use Shimano XT levers with Magura MT7 calipers, aka Shiguras baby!
Don’t lift your bike from the extended seat post. Use the main body of the dropper
Is the bearing assy the only part worth upgrading on the 21-23 shocks for improved reliability?
@jawzzy3 actually the bearing assembly is the only part that you can upgrade. There is not any other difference at the new x2 shock. I don't know if it's worth doing it, but you have to do it if you want to service the shock. The new service kit does not support the previous bearing.
@@potamitismeccanica that bearing assy part is sold out everywhere 🫤
Thanks for the video. What was the part number of the Fox kit used to service the shock?
You need two service kits. The part numpers is 803-00-142 and 803-00-381
Very nice! ⚒️🏆👏
Turns out: I’m no longer going to try this myself
This guy knows what he is doing
Thanks a lot 🤙
hello again... one more question,,, i cant find anywhere the smaller oring (2mm thick x 1.5mm inner diameter). Any ideas where i can order? thanks -
Hi Robert. Don't worry. It's not obligatory to replace it. It doesn't leak.
@@potamitismeccanica thanks for the info!
sorry one more ;) its hard to see in the video- but i forgot the order the shims went back on. when you have the damper clamped as in the video, bolt coming up through the hole, the largest shim goes on first (then smaller as it goes up?
@@robertnunezsf yes. The largest shim goes first.
@@potamitismeccanica thanks!
Ahhh sorry never mind it is a clip!
hi again! so i took it all apart until getting the blue low speed compression rod- is there a circlip and / or threads and a nut on top? very small nut! not sure i have a driver for it- do you know the size? thanbks again!
🛠⚙🏆🥇
Nice 🏆🏆🏆
awesome; 1 for us / 0 for sram. the PUSH damper is on sale for 94us but i'd rather fix myself. thanks again!!
Hi there- great video- I think you are the only one who as done it!. I have the same issue and am going to do the same; i was wondering if you know how the fork worked after the service- no leaks? Thanks !
Thanks @robertnunezsf. I have repeard a couple, and yes they have no leaks. The older of those is one year before. And It works great
@@potamitismeccanica Hi sorry hoping you can give me the measurements for the orings? When you say 2x1.5 and 3x7 what do numbers correspond to? Seems here in the US they like to make things complicated. so Inner diameter / outter diameter / rubber thickness. thanks again!
Hi @robertnunezsf. The 3x7 means that the thickness is 3mm and the inner diameter is 7mm. Also the 2x1.5 means that the thickness is 2mm and the inner diameter is 1.5mm
@@potamitismeccanica thanks for clarifying!
Well done :)
Hi, good video! I have a problem whit high and low speed compression. There is no bleading in the lower leg,but i think that they don’t work proprerly when the regulation is closed.have you ever seen this problem?
Hi @matteoricci146. I'm not so sure what the problem could be, i haven't seen something similar. Did you remove the dumper, so you can observe better the issue?
Awesome 🤘
🙏thanks poziiiii
Thank you for making this video. I've never bought individual o-rings. Is there a specific brand or durometer of rubber I need for this project?
Thanks @cben86. No, any brand that you can find. Is just the typical o-rings. They are made from nitrile. It's very easy function on this area so don't worry for leaks anymore 😁
@@potamitismeccanica thank you for the reply
Could you please inform what tool to dispressure air from the tube of ccdb coil?
Do you mean the tool that put nitrogen on the ifp chamber?
I’m so effing done with Fox suspension / dropper post shit. Endless repairs. Endless duds. I’m literally throwing $$$ in the bloody garbage can. Rock Shox and OneUp droppers for me from here on in.
Thank you so much for the instruction. How did you take off the top cap and bladder? I cant find a way to hold the compression assembly
Hello. Yes, you must hold the brown unit and then unscrew the top cap. You can do it in two ways: 1) Hold it with a vice block, or 2) Slide something underneath, avoiding the holes in the lower part vertically. In both scenarios, you must lift the blender to reveal the brown part."
Very nice. But poly seal on outside of seal head has always been dumb, should be buna 70 or 80, but you have to wrap threads with tape to protect for install as they are razor sharp. Also would be a good idea to change from old base valves to new bx001 And lastly, to set minumum ifp height allowed by the +_ and raise ifp pressure 15-20psi. All of these steps ward off air chamber pressure leaking into damper.
Γ@μ@ει η μόκα του Ποταμίτης μεκανικα!!και πάρλα ιταλιανο μιλάμε!
What oil did you use? I see fox website says 4wt and another website says 20wt
What?? No 4wt is the damper oil. The 20wt is for lubricate the air chamber, and you must put 3ml only.
Can I use It on a yari ebike fork? Is the inner diameter the same even though ebike forks use thicker stancions
I don't have this information. You can check the rockshox app on the section upgrades. If the code of the upgraded dumper kit (that the app suggests) is the same with the code of a lyric dumper, then you can use it for your fork.
Hola me podrías decir que aceite se le pone y cuanta presión de nitro lleva?
10 wt y 400 psi
Essenziale bello completo! Complimenti
Mille grazie 🙏
what torque wrenches you are using here?
@Resantinos i use the topeak D-torq for small torques (1-20nm) and the park tool for the bigger torque values (10-60nm)
@@potamitismeccanica ahh yes, topeak's are known for good quality. I use some of their tools as well and I am satisfied.

Great video, thank you! What is the punch size the remove the pins?
Thanks @johnh485. Is the 2mm punch
Nice, i buy this float for my old giant reign 3
what's the part number of the new 2024 seal kit ? I've purchased the 803-01-921 Seal Kit: 2023 FLOAT X2 Spring and Damper Rebuild. But I guess there's something new for 2024 to address the issue with the air build up in the damper oil which is also happening with ma 2022 X2. Thanks for the part number ;-)
@racetrack491 Unfortunately, this kit can only be used on the 2024 X2 (or on older models if the bearing is replaced, as shown in the video). The difference lies in the O-ring on the shaft. The new bearing has 2 O-rings, compared to the older version, which has just 1. So, if you purchase the new bearing, you can upgrade to the 2024 X2 specifications.
@@potamitismeccanica all clear, having a 2022 model and therefore wondering about the inner slider piece you’re replacing in your X2. Out with the black, in with the silver thingy (already including the O rings) -> the number of that package with the silver part would be really interesting 😇
@@racetrack491 the code of the new bearing is 812-06-118-KIT. But it's very rare
The new shafts rubber bush is still missing from the upgrade kit didn't see it here the Shims were also changed in a fox video I seen on GMBN in fox factory first showing the upgrade and beefed up the trunion mounts and the weak 2022 air can that couldn't handle the 300psi or would blow! Otter tv has a good new video on the tare down showing the new bush aswell better for bottom out control
Great video. Can the two pins really be punched out that easily? (Of yourse you have to keep the damper assembly steady in the vise). I am asking because I have seen a video of a guy who drilled the pins out which I would like to avoid.
Yes is very easy to remove the pins. You just have to keep the damper steady, it is not necessary to put it in the vise.
@@potamitismeccanicaThank you, you were right, in the other video the guy forgot to take out the LSC shaft first...so there was no way he could punch out the pins🤦♂️😅
@@potamitismeccanica Your instruction video is the best, quality work for sure.
True meccanica
Noticeably better?
The new bearing does not promise to enhance the feel of the suspension; therefore, you might not notice any immediate changes. It is designed to address the issue of air build-up in the damper oil. We will evaluate its effectiveness in a few months.
Just using a 11 speed shifter, shimano 12 and 11 speed RD has the same cable pull. I still keep my 11s shifter and cassette, but sold the 11s RD.
Are you sure? Βecause I tried to test the 11drivetrain with the 12RD but it didn't work very well
Hey, i have the same exactly shox. Could I service it in your shop? Where you located ?
Hello. Yes you can. But i am located in Athens, Greece.
help me with the order of the spacers :(
please :C
me also, I have specialized enduro sl expert 2007 or 2008 with rear spec's AFR called ....* name no worth repeat) because it's similar to fox rp23. For me is hard to find service informations for models before 2013. And its fatal situation when you are risponsible to make full service of air damper, aspecially you see the condtition inside means there where used inccorect tools and possible setting shims
What kind of wrench/pliers did you use to unscrew the reservoir? I'm having a hell of a time getting mine off without marring it up.
@BlaineCoury I use the unior. It's similar to Knipex
