Building a warm and cozy shelter for survival in the rain between rocky cliffs in the mountains
Today you will see the construction of a rock shelter in the mountains.
I built a warm and cozy shelter among the rocks to live in the rain in the mountains.
For this, I used natural materials such as stone and wood and some flexible metal wire and nylon.
Nylon is very useful for protection from rain and cold.
To heat the shelter, I made a wonderful fireplace with stones and mud. I built the chimney of the fireplace with stones and mud in a way that it is most efficient and directs the smoke well outside.
Enjoy watching!

Thank-you for your prompt reply to my question (below). I love how you-tube enables us to see what people from all over the world are doing and even have a conversation with them. My husband and I visited Iran in 1974 but didn't go to the mountains. (I'm 78 now) We stayed in Tabriz, Tehran, Isfahan and Mashhad and travelled around on your wonderful buses. People were very friendly and kind to us and we had a wonderful time. I'm neither an architect or an artist but I enjoy doing lots of small construction projects around the house and have had some experience building small retaining walls out of stone so I can appreciate your skill. It's rather like doing a jigsaw. I had thought that people travelling through the area must come across your shelters and be amazed and delighted to find them. It's wonderful that they continue to be used. I will continue to enjoy watching your very creative efforts...Very best wishes to you

On the fireplace, the mud for every layer will stick better if you make up a separate mix of mud that is some where between liquid and stiff mortar. This is called Thin Set. Apply a thin layer of the semi-liquid mud to every layer, brush it in to the rock with a broom, then apply your stiff mortar, stack next layer of stiff mortar and rock after buttering the bottom of the rock with the thin set. Also, in your stiff mortar, mix 1/3 sand, 2/3 red clay with a generous hand full of wood ash and hand full baked and crushed limestone.

I love watching your building - you have such a talent for building with stone and such a wonderful environment with so many little spaces and an abundant supply of rock which is so easy to shape. I liked the idea of the clear plastic roof which lets in light and makes it less gloomy. I'm wondering what your aims are when you build these shelters? Clearly you're not in an area which gets much rain and the shelters wouldn't stay very warm, say in snowy conditions. You would get some protection from wind and perhaps wild animals, if they're around. I guess it's just a general sense of shelter. Greetings from Australia
