Some of these very old school games have certain vibe for sure. Simple, dark but dang awesome atmosphere :) Recommend Heretic too. That game i'm very familiar with.

@sivaltogaming Oh, also, it's open world game. You mentioned in one of your Halo playthroughs that it would be cool if there was an open world Halo, but you thought they'd never make it. Well, you get to experience that with Halo Infinite. :)

The problem with learning about halo via wikis is that all the setups in the lore end up meaning nothing because 343 retconned pretty much everything Bungie set up. So the lore is a disaster right now.

@@SighingDm That is really sad to hear. Like with disney buying star wars and destroy the lore to the point where nothing really matters anymore.

What kind AI is Rebecca? humanity seems to have many different kind of AI's for different purposes. What is ONI? Intelligence & Research Group if not mistaken. Timeline is right after incident of Combat Evolved? What did happen to Dr. John Smith after all? Which one survived at the end? Henry or Lopez. Commander surely launched SHIVA missile in the end? Can Gravemind control speed of infection? Or how the infection mutates? It evolves so maybe not yet, but maybe one day. And there are several different graveminds? I feel the difference. Probably through whole game. It's just wrong how they did the new graphics. Wonder what they were thinking back then.

When first played through this game (or others) did not know that. Now i do though, and yeah. Was really surprised how accurate npc's targeting is. Better than mine most of the time and they seem to wait till safe distance to shoot too. Thanks again for the tip! Always welcome to learn new.

So even if i'm choosing to play with original graphics it does not really change everything. I noticed some things though. Obviously textures and such, but many sounds too. But direction too huh. Wonder where to find actual original version. Its probably even harder than this one. Some older games definitely are harder. I'm alright to hit my head against the wall in games for hours. Not everyday but some times i don't mind it. Mean, as child i was able some how beat Rayman classic which to me was very hard to do back in the day. I don't think i would be able to do it again though lol.

Right, knew that i'm just idiot. Forerunners are really interesting though. Where are they now? wonder if we know. Even if don't its really interesting. Its told in Halo 3... ohh, need to replay that then xD how did i miss that... again,, i'm idiot lol

@@sivaltogaming It's okay man. Halo lore is not easy to get. Guilty spark says "You are forerunner!" to the Chief in Halo 3 and many people still don't pick up on that immediately, myself included. Forerunners (ancient humans) used the rings and purged the galaxy of life in order to starve the flood.

That's beautiful in a way. Can see the similarities in attitude and way of thinking/living.

Thanks! Reach is high up there on my Halo tier list now. Actually got Halo Infinite campaign not too long ago from huge sale (i think it was -75%). Wish Halo 5 would be on steam as well, maybe one day. Gonna start up next Halo 4 i think, and finish Halo Wars & my campaign Halo CE classic on hard difficulty (to honest forgot to finish it). I do enjoy RPG's a lot. One of my favorite genres. You have something on your mind? :)

@@sivaltogaming Sure. It's my favorite genre. Not sure what to recommend though. Don't know what types of games you enjoy. Sci-fi or fanatsy, action or turn based and all that.

@@ghilean1174 Right. Don't really like turn-based ones, but action is okay. Most Fantasy goes, some Sci-fi too. From old school RPG's to new if they are well done. Its hard to describe since genre is so huge.

Wow. Thank you for explaining. Would not have figure that out myself i'm sure. Very interesting, and almost scary that she can do that. Thankfully she seems to be on our side. Cortana almost seem to be having more knowledge and intelligence than anyone. Maybe not much as forerunners. I still definitely have not figured all out. At times i think i'm getting it and then learn yea, no haha. One day perhaps. She almost seems unkillable if she makes many clones. Though you mentioned Core, so if that damages it still might be the end. Hopefully we don't come to that.

Ah i see yeah probably not then. Young Masterchief, still learning but most likely still bigger than most x) Been enjoying it a lot so far even not great at RTS games. Gonna try skirmish with population mod after campaign to see how it is. Sadly Halo Wars 2 is not on steam. Maybe on GOG, need to check it out. Thanks for putting all the info so far. Hopefully gonna remember it too. Surely going to pump in to same things more than once, lore and otherwise so it might stick in.

Right! should have guessed when saw those brutes doing it and did not take dmg when shot at them. EMP blast, wonder what that will affect. Probably shields and such.

Ohh so cool to know that. There are so many things in this series that is easy to miss. After watching some other people play Halo 1.2.3 noticed things that for some how i clearly missed even they were right on screen. Felt bit stupid lol. But have learned tons of info. Amazing how well this series has been made.

That's next (New Alexandria). Gonna start it tomorrow, its already so late here today. I do go full in to games usually, that's how enjoying them most. Maybe little too much hehe. Actually trying to get shoes of character and dive in the world we are in, in the game almost like it would be real. Feel like you get most out of them and best experiences that way. Of course it does not work everyday but yeah :)

Oh that's so nice to have something fun to do together with family. Games do connect people in many ways. Many of my friends are from online games all over the world. Some almost 15 years ago. And thanks, so far have been having a blast!

Maybe i'm overthinking. Spartans have it pretty rough but what humanity is going through right now, guess there is not much room to be all nice and clean. Pretty grim time, millions dying left and right. Have to make some hard measures.

@@sivaltogaming Yes, Jorge is the huge guy with the machine gun. He's a Spartan-2, just like Master Chief. That's why he's bigger. The rest of the noble team, including you, are Spartan-3, cheaper expendable super soldiers. Spartan-1's existed. They were successful but experimental. Sargeant Johnson is a Spartan-1.

@@ghilean1174 Yesterday played and learned what happened to Jorge. Man.. I'm sure will everyone will die, but starting to feel this team might not make it. Oh we are Spartan-3's. Even they feel very strong compared to normal humans or ODST's. Never knew that about Johnson. Again learning so much lore! Thank you.

Have enjoyed it a lot so far. Combat feels really good and smooth on this. Enemies shields are bit more tough than in last ones which is interesting. Also it seems we are Spartans as well! It's gonna be good ride for sure.

Actually been going to that direction while playing Halo ODST. If have powerful weapon trying to take high value targets away first with them. And certain weapons do better damage to shields and others. Use one to destroy the shield, and other gun to kill the target. Still did not know that they flee when squad leader is dead but can see it now when you said it. Seems that's what they have been doing. Fun game design for sure.

Indeed it's been much fun to be "just" human. Forgetting though these guys can't take same damage than Master Chief. And oh, did not know that but yeah, makes sense. Need to pay more attention when crosshair turns red and see what happens. There are so many little things in these games that its easy to forget or miss some stuff. At least i do lol.

Wow. That explains why it looks so much like it. So those two discs did not recognize each other then huh. Man that would be such a let down after getting home with it. And seems it was quite pricey too. Wonder how long game this is compared to Halo 3 then.

@@sivaltogaming so for context I got the game this year at a second hand shop for like a pound and 50 Pence so the price wasn’t that bad but the real thing that sucks is that I got a replacement that still didn’t work so in the end I still got the game for less than retail price I just got a slightly more expensive copy from a better store. Also ODST itself is like an hour or 2 shorter than halo 3 so not very long but very fun

Thanks for timeline! Halo 3 ODST is gonna be next. Going released order. Halo wars 1 is on steam & already on my wishlist. Definitely gonna play that at some point. Halo wars 2 is not sadly. Even its different company that made Halo 4 & Halo infinite it seems i'm still gonna try them. Also noticed in steam that there is workshop (mods) for these Halo games. Don't know how have missed it this far. Some of them seem great. Like one where you seem to play as regular human in some war scenarios :o

@sivaltogaming gotcha yeah release order is the way. Sucks halo 5 is on console only. And halo wars 2 is also on pc just not steam it's on the windows app thing.

Oh my. Well, if the studio changed after this one guess he kinda did die. Actually really sad to think about. Even it does not show on my facial expressions, i'm really mellow in that way. But definitely had much emotions going on inside in these three last episodes. Even in real life if going through something, i'm more silent type. Yeah, gonna start Halo 3 ODST next. Really embarrassed that my name memory is so bad. So in first one we had Captain Jacob Keyes, then Miranda Keyes daughter of Jacob (don't know how did not see the connection there). Sergeant Major Avery Junior Johnson. Wow what a long name. Epic character! I'm sure will remember him rest of my life. And Arbiter Thel 'Vadam, never gonna remember that name. Last but not least 343 Guilty Spark.. really mixed on him. First liked his whimsical attitude but man. After blasting Sgt Johnson really started to hate the thing lol.

My facial expressions are very mild usually (just how i am). But it did get me too. This whole story arc has been quite a wild ride of emotions.

Very much do! Sad part is with games & moments like these, you can really only experience it like this once. Also interesting to me is how first did not care that much when begun with Halo 1, i was just curious. But now i'm blown away how much got attached to the story and characters. Amazing experience.

Was pretty sure that was the case after first time heard it clearly in that cutscene. It took me this long to actually notice lol. Well at least now i know. Will be very interesting to look back on this whole journey at some point. How much did i miss at first, probably a lot.

That is incredible. Love how deep lore in this series is. Just finished Halo 3. That had surprisingly sad ending. Lost good characters. On to Halo 3 ODST then.
