what is that nameplate mod you have? looks better than elvui that was suggested in the launcher or whatever
I am at Area 52, I thought the cards were not used in here however I bought Skill Card - Loa's Assault and it opened the cards however I dont know how to open it again since in the character advancement there is no card tab. Help plz
You can get them, but they’re not used.

Im not sure I like Wildcard, I ran out of scrolls early so each time I hit a new level I only get one roll and have to accept whatever it rolls which messes up the synergy rolls for whatever comes next. Can you only exchange Marks of Ascension for scrolls at Silas ONLY at levels 0-10, 20-30, etc? I have over 3K Marks of Ascension but cant get scrolls to help me and the system. Freepick seems to be a much easier system to run with.
Can you explain Skill Cards in more depth? (How do you get them, where can you get more, Whats up with Darkmoon tickets? etc)
Are skill cards only for wildcard? Ive only done free pick or archetype
Do freepick people get cards too?
So prestigeing will let you reroll your character but why do that ? Why not just create a new character?

Should a new player prioritize buying card packs or heirloom items with their early ascension marks?
I don’t think buying heirlooms is a good investment of marks early on, as you can do the strategy I talked about to prestige a few times and reset turn in cost, and you get prestige tokens at the same time (more with prestige daily) which you can use to buy heirlooms. Also, you can buy heirloom weapon tokens on AH for relatively low cost, so check from time to time. Weapons + trinkets is a good way to start with a bulk of the exp bonus.
nice overview thanks - the skillcards isnt really somehting you can just "choose" like that on your very first playthrough.. i couldnt choose any of the cards you did :)
You’ll get the starters after prestiging your first time. I’ll have to pin one of the comments covering this, since theres a few.
The Paladin quest line Charger mount (possibly also the Warlock one) 100% mount speed 10 Gold - Account Bound (so you can use it any character going forward). And you don't even have to do the quest line :)
I haven't played project ascension since 2020ish. This is extremely complicated. I'm debating whether to continue to play it or ignore the card nonsense. jfc.
You can totally play the game and ignore this mechanic. Eventually, you’ll have a card for something you want/need in your build and you can activate, boom, you have the thing. You get card packs from things you’re already doing, so there’s no need to focus on building your collection, but I go into it for those that want to.
@ProjectAscensionHub yeah, i think I've figure out how it works. Just seems overly complicated. There's so many currencies too. I guess I'm just a boomer.

this bad luck protection is nonsense. I can unlearn a talent and then see it 3 rolls later. This has been happening quite frequently the last 2 weeks. Ive also noticed patterns when unlearning talents. example if you unlearn Tame pet, it will give you mend pet straight after. this has been happening so frequently its hardly a coincidence. My current presitge im doing now im level 50 and ive seen some spells 3/4 times already which are useless and have no synergy to what i have currently

You can add it to the comments (and check them first) on the database guide, and for the Discord you can just make your own post for it.

You have to earn the cards in your collection first. Whenever you prestige for the first time, you should have all the starters, as in the basic level 1 abilities.
I mean whats the point of this build guide when the elune server is wildcard.
You gain talents and abilities randomly, it doesn't mean your build is completely random. This guide is to help people understand the synergies of the things they could roll and how to play it.
Your videos are amazing man. I'm an Ascension Veteran at this point and I always have to explain a lot of the stuff in this video to new players. Deffo gonna send them this instead! Keep up the new player friendly content brother, we need it!

One HUGE oversight that I didn't cover in this video are darkmoon tickets. You get them from opening packs. You can buy ability cards you want from Silas with them from the darkmoon prizes section. You can also bank them and buy a random set of talent cards via the card opening UI at the bottom. I recommend just banking for the legendaries, but if there's a rare or epic you need, then that's another way you could get it. The cost goes up every time you do it. Finally, darkmoon tickets are per character, but you can buy bags of tickets from Silas to move tickets between characters.
everytime i prestige i get shit build so they didnt fix anything or i dont have bad luck protection at all i see 1 ability every 3 rerol lel
I have been playing locust since A52 expanded to TBC... and 8:28 I've notice you have munitions expert on with the buff Heavy Munitions (Armor-piercing= attack slower) instead of High velocity Munitions (Quick-draw= attack faster).. why not shoot faster? the -10% is not much to lose, but the faster you shoot the more quivers to fire. also I can see why this build is good for chimera cause it gets alot of bonus's for chimera but in A52 my strongest ability is Wild Wrath... (stabling at 21k Overhaul dmg with T5 raid gear) also I dont use expunge cause I know a macro to keep Naturally Strong up instead. x)
there's only so many shots you can get off with steady shot weaving, especially with compound speed, so it's already at a theoretical cap. I could see it being different on A52 since you can't combine.
@ @ your speed can only go down to 0.25 max but also your auto shots can also proc a quiver if the target has IS or SS one if the two you you have a chance to proc two quivers

Is this applicable for Area 52? If not, what would be.
A lot of the basics are. The biggest difference is the modified abilities/talents are on Legendary and Epic Mystic Enchants (people call them "REs" in game). So, you don't have to RNG them, you just pick the base ability/talent, put on the mystic enchant, and you got them.
any DPS updates on this build?
With level 70 starter blues and nothing new to the build, about 30k single target, 20-25k when bosses get melted too fast. Build changes, M+ gear, and enchants will be next video

If you get tundra tracker, you can put in deep freeze which is free damage without having to use a GCD

crafting in itself is NEVER useless, end game level recipes are almost always in demand to fill in gaps in gear until the final gear can be obtained.. jewel crafting especially will stay in demand at high levels... tailoring for bags is always needed, though i think 1 or 3 special bags my come from leather or engineering depending on xpac your playing.... blacksmithing is also needed if one is after legendary weapons such as Sulfuras... and of course like jewelcrafting, enchanting and alchemy tend to see high use at end game....

In your video you started off with four skills. When i start a character i only get one, am i doing something wrong, or was this a change they made?
You probably already figured it out, but the first time you create your character, you get the 4 skills over levels 1-10. After you prestige you’ll get all four to choose at level 1.

just avoid PvP its full of people hacking that the devs do nothing about, in fact from some reddit threads there are some players allowed personally by the devs to hack and cheat with damage boosters.
thanks for this guide and nicely edited. my i ask, how do u set up "tell me when" addon and which version of it are u using? do you have to enter the ability IDs manually?
I'll update the architect build with my WeakAuras later today and you can import to edit how you'd like. You can download the spell id addon in the launcher and it will give you all spell ids in the tooltips of things in game if you want, otherwise, most addons like WeakAuras have a setting that will "listen" for any name of ability, buff, etc..

Is this build on viable or available in the random roll realm or can I use it on Area 52 realm as well?
You won't be able to do all the Blood Venom related things on Area 52, since that is another Legendary enchant, but I've heard from friends who play there that Locust Ranger is still decent.
Tried this, it does ALOT of dmg without gear, not sure how it scales with gear tho

Thanks for this guide. This was something I was looking for as a new player. I always liked what they do, But it was just too much. And then I heard of the upcoming updates and such, So I had the stuff in my account and got the beta. LOL Now, I have something to work with. I can use this guide to get used to the game. Get it to max level. Get my bearings and really get to know what I am doing along the way. Seems like a marriage of Hunter/Druid with some small touches of other classes tossed in. heh
Am I understanding what a synergy roll is? 1. You get 2 abilities instead of 1 at certain levels. 2. The bonus ability complements your current build. 3. It happens occasionally, not every level.
Not quite. Every time you roll/reroll, there's a weighted chance that it is a "synergy" roll, which will be an ability that's synergistic with a talent you already have, or an ability with a talent you already have. Every time you roll and don't get a synergy, it increases your chance of getting one. What I don't understand is now when I start a new toon on Elune I can NOT use that *Dice of Destiny* to help select three starting abilities. Now it immediately has me roll for just one and more often than not it is something VERY hard to begin with... 🎲
yeah, they made it so you get them over the first 10 levels to make it less overwhelming for newer players (supposedly). After prestige it goes back to picking 4 at lvl 1 if I understand correctly.

Since Area 52 is free pick, you don’t need skill cards! However, you’ll have to get mystic enchants which can be bought on the auction house, rolled for at the mystic enchanting altar, and some are only found in the open world.
