How to use Flex on FlutterFlow?

Flex class is a widget that controls how a child of a Row, Column, or Flex flexes on Flutter. Using a Flexible widget gives a child of a Row, Column, or Flex the flexibility to expand to fill the available space in the main axis (e.g., horizontally for a Row or vertically for a Column), but, unlike Expanded, Flexible does not require the child to fill the available space. A Flexible widget must...

    I'm curious about how you let the AI decide the topic to show. I'm not sure if not showing the menu to the user makes for a better design. Often, clients don't even know what they want, so I think it's good to show them the options. Looking forward to watching your next video!

      I have used the custom state to trigger different UI in bubbles based on the response I receive from the AI. I program AI in a way that it will spit out a keyword based on the conversation, and that keyword will be called the custom state to show the UI. I hope this information helps. You are right; we can't hide or replace the side menu with a chat-based conversation. Therefore, I have decided to keep this as an alternative UI. Truly appreciate your feedback.

    How do I reference groups(dashboard pages) when I want to move information around and also navigation if I want to create a button to trigger a navigation without using the dashboard nav

    • @abmodi_ai
      @abmodi_ai 11 місяців тому

      Hi there! Great question. To reference groups (dashboard pages) in Bubble, you can use unique IDs or custom states. For moving information around, consider setting up custom states at the page level that store the necessary data. You can then reference these states from any group or element on your page. Regarding navigation without using the dashboard nav, you can create buttons that trigger workflows. Each button's workflow can be set to 'Display data in a group' or 'Show/hide an element' to navigate between different groups (representing pages) on your dashboard. This method gives you the flexibility to control navigation without relying on the standard dashboard navigation. Hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you have more questions.

      Thank you for the feedback, however not all the pages (custom state groups) will hold the same data. Unless there is a way to reference the data in the dashboard pages from the page level.@@abmodi_ai

      @@steve_franc That's right, not all pages will hold the same data. However, you can use URL parameters to pass the data and set the workflow triggers based on the data.

    Any chance you could indicate how you would validate the input fields (no values, only spaces, invalid data, required field)?

    • @abmodi_ai
      @abmodi_ai Рік тому

      A highly effective approach to tackle this is by utilizing a custom regex expression. Consider incorporating a condition such as: "This Input's value: extract with Regex: count is 1," where the regex expression encapsulates the desired validation for the input. Thank you for your videos. You're doing great work. I'm trying to build a dispatch board that shows technicians on the far left column and then every hour of the day as the other columns and when an appointment is booked for a customer and assigned to this technician a block appears in this table across the time duration you've set up according to job type you selected. This will also need to have dynamic conditions that tracks time and job status. Say the technician has arrived on the job, the block will change colors, or if the technician is late. It would also need to track the time total spent dispatched, arrived and working on the job. I'm not sure where to start with this.. maybe the new tables workflow?

    I have a drop down menu. Now how do I add functionality to it? How do I log users out when they select log out?

    • @abmodi_ai
      @abmodi_ai Рік тому

      To build a functionality to log out a user from a dropdown UI on Bubble.io, you'll need to use Bubble's visual development platform and workflow editor. Here's a step-by-step guide to implementing this functionality: 1. Set up the User Data Type: - First, you need to create a data type to store user information. Go to the Data tab and create a new data type, e.g., "User." - Add necessary fields like "Name," "Email," and others as required. 2. Create the Dropdown UI Element: - Drag and drop a Dropdown element from the Elements tab onto your page. This will be the UI element where the user can trigger the logout action. 3. Design the Dropdown Options: - Configure the Dropdown element to display options. For example, you can add an option like "Logout" to the Dropdown. 4. Create the Logout Workflow: - Go to the Workflow tab and create a new workflow for the "Logout" option inside the Dropdown element. - Choose the event that triggers the workflow (e.g., when the Dropdown's value changes, and it matches "Logout"). 5. Log Out the User: - Inside the Logout workflow, use the action "Logout the user" from the "Account" category. - This action will log out the current user from your Bubble.io application. 6. Optional: Redirect After Logout (if desired): - If you want to redirect the user to a specific page after they log out, you can add another action to the Logout workflow from the "Navigation" category. - Choose the "Go to page" action and specify the page where you want the user to be redirected after logout. 7. Test the Functionality: - Save your changes and preview your app in the development environment. - Click on the Dropdown and select "Logout" to test the logout functionality. Remember to properly handle user authentication and permissions throughout your application to ensure that only logged-in users can access certain pages and features. Additionally, if your dropdown is used for other purposes as well, you can add a conditional action to check if the selected option is "Logout" before triggering the logout workflow. This way, the logout action will only be executed when the user explicitly selects "Logout" from the dropdown.
