Yep, just did something similar this weekend but flipped over the bars after the bounce. Got the wind knocked out of me and tore something in my groin. Ribs and shoulders are sore but I don't think anything is broken lol Here's my crash video :) ua-cam.com/video/JkrZL9_v-a0/v-deo.html

@@MillerVisualMine too. What pisses me off the most is my sh1tty shifter 😭😭😭 There's no way for it to work correctly, and I've been experiencing this in all my cheap (under 1500$) bikes

Hi I‘m a bike mechanic, Your crankset works with a Square Axle bottom bracket, it Needs to be Berry well tightened or the cranks might slip from the axle. If this happens, your cranks that are made out of aluminium will wear on the axle and, even if you retighten them right in place, won’t stay fixed for long. Time to change your left crank

You have to get cripples pedals so you have 50 percent more power climbing and you will not loose traction.

How do people leave the house without a multi tool? I done even go riding without one. Costs like $10 in a gas station and they’ve saved me countless times!

My crank worked its way loose as the bottom bracket wasnt completely flush to the frame. Whole arm ended up snapping off while riding and needed to be replaced with a new bb and crankset

That happened to me too, with a bike with square tapered cranks. It seems you have to use Loctite. My hollowtech crank however also started to slide on the axle, despite being properly torqued.

The catch with those roots and rock gardens is that you need speed to get over them (and a good line). Also, always carry a multi tool. Sometimes the issue with stripped threads is from over tightening. Best to use a torque wrench.

Least you got acheap set of pedles to get on with I just spent 5k on a bike that has been sitting from Saturday to today waiting for a set pedles turning up I had to go buy but gave me an excuse to go get my oil slick Sam Hill nukeproof pedles! They just arrived today there so nice and very light compared to old Odessey pedles and my old Rob Warner classics I've had for 20 off year's but wasn't putting them on an embt but I do think they should throw a set of 20 bucks pedles in just to get you out on your new ride!

Tektro breaks were amazing back in the day 99/01 amd were pretty respected brand for the V breaks they started using on the GT and Dyno BMXs when I was riding skateparks n Streets way back then its crazy to hear how cheap and nasty they seem to have come with comment's now its kinda sad!

Ah man that's crap! Get in to kona about that it's not normally something that's covered under warranty but that happening from new I think they'll be understanding and replace it hopefully with stronger bolt's! I'm just getting back into the sport myself just got my cube action team on Saturday there waiting for frame wrap before head out on it but I'd be totally pee'd off if this happened I'd be right on to the shop that built it! Always check your nuts before heading out!

So, full suspension is not faster. It is literally slower. Speed is a function of power generated through your legs. A full suspension bike takes some of the generated power and puts it into the slack of the bike. So, all things equal, a hardtail is faster than a full suspension. Want proof? Watch the UCI XCO events and see what the riders are using. You'll see they default to hardtail unless there is a specific reason they need rear suspension. That said, you trade off generated power for ground contact with rear suspension. Going over bumps, a hardtail will leave the ground where rear suspension will push the rear tire into the ground. This gives you a lot more control. Which, could translate to faster if the trails are technical enough. Remember, even more so than motocross, the amount of suspension travel is much more significant from your legs than the actual bike suspension. Rear suspension is a quality of life gain, not really a performance gain. For this trail, full suspension is not going to help all that much for speed. It will give you a more comfortable ride, but you will be slower. More important, GET A DROPPER SEAT! That will generate more speed, give you comfort, and make you a LOT safer on the trail. You can pick one up for under a $100. Get it installed for $50, if you don't want to do it yourself. Even more important: Rule of Cool! We ride because it is fun. Showing off expensive, full suspension, carbon frames is a lot of fun. And bouncing down a trail, loading and unloading your full suspension bike is a lot of fun. For performance, what you have is perfect for what you are riding. For fun, you should rent a $10k Scott Spark and go nuts.

Rule of thumb, if you can see your tracks, you shouldn't be riding the trail. These look fine, just avoid standing water.

Coming from motocross I rather have a fs all day. Get a carbon bike. But hard tails are cool and good for your first bike. I got a bad back too so I could use plushness. I believe bought my 22 Marin riftzone one for 1600. You don’t have to spend much, I rode it 1200 miles this year with no major issues. Getting an intense primer tomorrow. Can’t wait

You might want to check spoke tension in your wheels, especially the rear. They typically need tightened like the bottom bracket after 20 miles or so. It’s good to check your bolts often.
