    We talk to lots of people about this problem! Is this different than an assignment of rights? For companies who don't have this in place, is there a basic agreement they can get cofounders and contractors to sign?

      Business context is very important, especially for developers. They'll understand who they are building for and why, making the entire development process much easier and smoother because you have a dev team that can think, make decisions, and react independently.

      @@Trustshoring tech engineers, upper level businessman, investors and the salesman trying to communicate with each other, is like trying to relate the subjective experiences of someone who doesn't have an inner dialogue, a person who can't visualize, someone with autism, another person who has synesthesia with each other. My comment was to exemplify the amusing and frustrating differences in the manner of thinking. What might seem completely reasonable, logical and obvious to us can be often be unfathomable to one of the other tiers of the business world and they feel the same wondering why we just don't get it and should have our priorities straight. Stack different sexes and cultures on top of that, it's a miracle any businesses work.

      @@Trustshoring back in the mid to late 90s I tried to launch a broadband wireless ISP. I conceived of a modified franchise style agreement to work with all the little dial ups that existed back then, customers couldn't see or imagine how consolidating multiple services under a single internet service could save them and benefit them in the long run, yet signed up for DSL when it came out without even knowing what it was! My only customers were those whom AOL was a long-distance call, the other small ISPs either had some fantasy of exponential growth on their own or couldn't wait to sell out to earthlink in disillusionment. Meanwhile investors were putting in money preferentially to businesses with no plan at all. It was a very frustrating and enlightening experience. Four groups, types of people, each blind to the others experience and desires. Developers that can relate to business context , they're a gift. If they're also salesman and can relate to investors they are a godsend! Oh and I really shouldn't have been messing with border gateway protocols and such , on routers with buggy firmware while connected to the global internet... Looking back it was just luck I didn't cause a major outage.

    • @Trustshoring
      @Trustshoring 2 місяці тому

      @@aaryan9278 it depends. most fractional CTO is done on a pure coaching level, and the CTO probably has no reason to be in a conflict of interest. But if you're interviewing a fractional CTO, the best thing would be to ask and put a non-compete into their contract. Especially if you're looking for fractional CTO involvement beyond 4-8 hours per week, I would agree you shouldn't be working with someone who also advises your competitor.

    Code can be fast. Ruby on Rails you can develop your MVP quickly in time measured in days and this scales. Though you have to pay for developers...Google sometimes help build apps for startups and their time frame is 2 weeks after full specs are done. When done properly code can fit your purpose but this requires expertise and will surely be more costly than no code solutions. For no code Webflow should be considered on the front end as something looking really good is equated for being professional and effective.
