I dont know why poor whites in Africa is even an issue. We in South Africa have had poor whites scince Dutch colonial times. It was easier during the appartheid years, we took care of our own, but now it is a matter of having to compete on a more equal footing. There is not work for everybody, so there are always poor folks of different hues.

We need to set up fundraisers somewhere and videos should be put out to "help" and not just watch.

Ek vind dit bitter onregverdig dat ander nasies ook baat vind daarby aangesien die regering hul alreeds help. Dus het ek ontrek en sal slegs weer aansluit as omstandighede verander. Asb, doen navraag by die ouers van skole wie wel hul tassies ontvang en of dit regtig vir die regte kind gaan. Ons skool het die tassies uitgedeel aan mammas wat werk het in hoë poste! Die kinders wat nie nuwe taste en skryfbehoeftes kan bekostig nie, het niks ontvang nie. Liefs moet dit self deur julle uitgedeel word en nie by die kantoor afgegooi word sodat die kantoor dame dit vir haar vriendine uitdeel nie.

I am South African with European roots. I lived in South Africa for 19 years. My family are law abiding people with a high reputation, rules, traditions and family values. We are all highly educated people and live for our own money. Money does not come easy. We only count on ourselves. We solve our problems by ourselves. By the way, my family does a lot of charity and donations. From what I can say, South Africa is degrading rapidly on my eyes as a population, especially the white population. Every day, I see white people at shops, restaurants, in the streets and hotels and what I can say is that many of these people have a bad attitude and behave inappropriately. Their clothes are sometimes dirty, not ironed and even sometimes have holes. The hair of these people does not look nice and many use slang words and foul language. Many people also consume drugs, have HIV/AIDS and mental disorders. What future is there for a society like this? Between my family and these degraded people is a huge difference. I and my family are going to move to Europe. Another problem. Some 'white people' don't even know about squatter camps for white people. Some of these people are very isolated and live in their own world. (!?) I'm also very impressed with some white South African people which are from middle/ low class and they don't seem to want to work. I tried to find a white maid but my search was unsuccessful. My apologies for the word 'white. The white people without money prefer to go to squatter camps or to die in the street than to get a job as a maid. (To me, this is very strange). The quality population of white people who still have high standards have already moved to Europe or must move urgently! My apologies for my straightness, but this is the reality!

Poverty know no color. I have helped homeless people, true different organizations and i have seen a lot of poor, whites, coloreds, idians,blacks, young and old.... South Africa has a big problem with unaployment and this racist comments i see here isn't helping any one to get a job, or to learn a new skill ! People with their stupit commets, or racits comment haven't even help any poor homeless person to type a cv or a meal or worm blanket.
