Lavyrle Spencer is a very good author who has retired--so no new books to look forward to anymore. 🫤 This was before I started reading thrillers. She wrote about families and marriages and they had great characters. A bit hard to find her books now but well worth the search. 😊

Rosamunde Pilcher's books Winter Solstice, Coming Home, and The Shell Seekers (this one is rather long) are some of my favorites. They are some of the very few that I've read several times. Cathy Ace, Rhys Bowen, Agatha Christie, Mary Higgins Clark, Deborah Crombie, Robert Galbraith (J. K. Rowling), David J. Gatward, Elizabeth George, Elly Griffiths, Anne Perry, and Dorothy L. Sayers are mystery writers that I really like. Some are more intense than others. There are many others that I've read, but I don't want to go on and on, lol. I've gotten some good recommendations from comments on your channel. If you're looking for a good devotional, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young is very good when you're in a season of life for something easy. Blessings ~ Linda 💕

Dawn, Sandra Brown for me. All I needed to read was one of hers, and I loved her! She is romance, but she did branch out, and did other work! She is so talented! I have stopped reading! I never should of done that tho! There are so so so many authors out there, I am just blown away by all that I have seen, I think it keeps growing too! Your new channel is making me want to read some of these authors. Keep up the great work your doing to inspire others. Reading is so important in life.

From my 2012 typed list I had by author. An complete list with scribbled additions (circa 2012-2016). Wish I had kept better book lists all these years. Slowly trying to transition my notations to Goodreads (Random Hodgepodge). Danielle Steel, romance author. On the 2012 list there were about 89 books starting with Going Home (1973). I checked off 28 of hers. Yes hers got predictable. Like she'd introduce a character and then within the first few chapters kill 'em off. Used to say out loud "Damn, Danielle! I kinda liked that one!" Hubby always thought that was funny. Alex Archer - Female RPG action/thriller/mystery stuff. Rogue Angel series. A modern day Joan of Arc. 48 on my list, I left off around #39. Some better than others. got repetitive. 40 of those gobbled up, I guess I liked them:) David Baldacci - action/thriller 28 books listed, read 26. One one I even had a very rare note instead of just a check mark. "Boring"!:) The 5th book of the Sean King and Michelle Maxwell series. Dan Brown - action/thriller, read 3 out of the 6. Ted Bell - action/thriller - Alex Hawk series - Read 7 books Larry Bond - action/thriller - 17 books, read 5 Other than Danielle Steel, those 5 authors cover 2 pages of my "2012" typed list. No way possible for me to narrow down to only 5 authors) LOL nope no way! 🤣🤣😂

Oh boy. I read The Promise a million years ago when I was in HS and really enjoyed it. I should give it another read and see if it holds up. I just discovered the Andy Carpenter series by David Rosenfelt. Fast paced, funny and always some twists. If your Libby has the audiobooks, try the first in the series - Open and Shut read by Grover Gardner. The narrator really does a great job.

The Promise was the first book Danielle Steel wrote. I do like her books, but they’re pretty predictable. So I read a book of hers when I need a break from the thrillers. I haven’t looked up Jenifer Ruff yet, but planning to. Susan Mallory & Karen Kingsbury are good authors. They are not thriller books though. My newly discovered author is Riley Sager.

This is an 800 page book, but it’s one that I think about a lot, it’s called “Gone to Soldiers” by Marge Piercy. It’s a great book that has you “move around the world” during WWII. You get to see the war through different peoples perspectives. A book I’ve loved forever and think about just about every time I take a shower (IYKYK), is “Cheaper By the Dozen” by Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. I just love the family and their antics, plus I love how the parents are efficiency experts. It’s based on the true stories of the Gilbreth family. There is a sequel book called “Belles on Their Toes”.

@3TXSisters i javent counted much since grade school. We used to walk tomthe small public library after school where we would then be picked up by my mother. In 3rd grade, my goal was to read through the juvenile/ teen section after being told the highest level book I was allowed to check out of the school library was some Curious George Book; I had a,ready read all of A,cost I could get my hands on, a bit of Kipling, a d a bit of London. I didnt meet my goal of before school was out but by mid summer I was working my through the adult fiction. Then in 5th grade I got to work in the library; it was suppose to increase my reading interest because I was in a lower reading group than what I tested out at. The librarian and I had an agreement about the number of books I was allowed to check out as I read through all the autobiographies, a bunch of the biographies, and all of the fiction. Meanwhile ... as long as as I was viewed as performing below my testing level I was allowed to continue working in the library; the teacher didn't think I was reading what I checked out. 6th grade came along and Mr Jury, the ex Viet Nam vet Marine more than pushed to get me in his highest reading group class. And the school brain PO'd me which began the competition between us to get through the entire SRA program before the other. We went through a couple of grade sets until we ran out before Christmas; this did give Jury teachers lounge bragging rights. Our promised post Christmas treat wad student Reader's Digests which I refused to do. I did the vocabulary assignments cold when Jury stood before my desk with the book and called it a graded test. Meanwhile I obtained enough extra credit to get by, by reading public library books and doing book reports using the book report form, 3 and 5 page book reports, oral, and a mix of the three upon demand. As only a 6th grader in a 6-3-3 can reply as to why I didn't use the school library I replied that I had read through that last year and the public library juvenile section by the summer out of 3rd grade. Im not sure if it was a Marine's test of wills or if he had my best interests at heart but I ended the school year reading and reporting on 3 books per week of which 1 had to be selected from his list. I collected my C or B and still didn't particularly do any Reader's Digest work. By the end of grade school I was done counting reading coo.

You asked who some of my favorite authors are. Let's see, we got: 1. Joanne Fluke. Cozy Mysteries. She does the Hannah Swensen cozy mystery series. This is my favorite cozy series. Set in Minnesota. She owns a coffee/cookie shop. 2. Joanna Carl. Cozy Mystery series. I love, love, love this series. 3. Jill Churchill. Cozy Mystery series. So cozy, so good. 4. Connie Feddersen. Cozy Mystery series. Set in Oklahoma. In cow country. 5. Leslie Meier. Cozy Mystery series. Each book is set around a holiday or birthday or anniversary or event. I love, love, love this series (except for Elizabeth). I am behind in this series. I had to take a break from Elizabeth. Set in Maine. 6. R.L. Stine. Teen Thrillers. I don't care how old I am, I can never get enough. 7. Elizabeth Seifert. General Fiction. She died in 1983 (I think), but she wrote a ton of books, and I probably won't ever get through them all. She wanted to be a doctor, but it was hard for women to be doctors back then, so she wrote about them instead. All her books have doctors as characters. Most of her books are set in Missouri. 8. Jessica Beck. Cozy Mysteries. I love this series. It is similar to the Hannah Swensen series but a watered-down version. This author is a male using a pseudonym. 9. Wendy Corsi Staub. Thrillers. There are male thriller authors whose books that I've read, but I like Wendy Corsi Staub's better; maybe because her's have a feminine touch. 10. Selma Eichler. Cozy Mysteries. I love, love, love this series. So cozy. Set in NYC. Lots of food and eating out.

After all these years I read a book that surpassed it 🏆 Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. I have the physical book but also got it on Audible. The narrator was so fabulous I enjoyed listening more than reading. It was better than I could have imagined❤ am currently reading The Housemaid which I’m very much enjoying (Audible version is good too fyi). I also loved “The Maid” by Nita Prose. Highly recommend! For action-thrillers, Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler, Robin Cook, Lee Child, Douglas Preston, Dan Brown, Sean Flannery-David Hagberg, Stephen Coonts, Robert Ludlum, Eric Lustbader, James Patterson, James Rollins, Brad Thor, Alex Archer, WEB Griffin, Vince Flynn, David Baldacci. I'm sure I've left some out:)

I like the Alex Cross series, too.💜

I was just thinking about this book today at work and I got goosebumps because I really think it was my favorite book. "Wish You Well" by David Baldacci. It takes place in 1940 in rural Virginia. I have it in paperback but I want to order the hardcover. When I read it all I could think of was how my dad would've liked it.
