I don’t know the weather in England so much but here in South Jersey the weather is relatively mild . It does get cold but rarely an issue . The tortoises go out in late April to mid May and come in the beginning of October so at best I get 5 months outside and 7 months inside .

If it’s an Aldabra it may be the beginnings of something called splayed legs . It’s the muscles in the legs that don’t get used as often when kept on a flat surface . It’s very important to have mounds or hills for them to climb over .

I was told it’s the Sea clear 20gallon tall by Aquariums.net It was dropped off by a friend who didn’t want it any more . It’s a beautiful tank tho and crystal clear

Thanks I appreciate it , I keep them hot and damp in a humidity chamber , I raised my Aldabs the same way and their shells are smooth too . The leopards seem to do very well in that system and are all very healthy
