Hello Everyone!! Welcome to the channel. I am Cpt NateDog729 & I am a part time content creator and twitch streamer on the Elder Scrolls Online, or ESO as some would say.
My channel is all about pve guides in ESO. As of right now I mostly do pve builds. In those guides I will answer couple of questions on my builds. From How to, Why do we, and What does it do.
I believe this is very important for player to learn when it comes to builds. If you learn how it works, then this will help you understand the game. Several topics I will cover is how to tank in Elder Scrolls Online, how to heal in ESO, and ESO how to do more damage.
My dream would be, if I could help people figure out how to play there game more efficiently. To be a full time content creator would be a dream come true. If you can help me by becoming a subscriber. This is free, I would really appreciate it. Thank You!!

Hey, I’m a returning player cp795 I also don’t have Gold Road or the new Scribing skills. I was looking to update my Tank since it’s been awhile since I’ve played. For reference I last played when cloudrest and turning tide/pearlescent came out. After I got those sets I sorta stopped playing. Would this build help me with Vets and Trials for this current patch?
@@Woah808 Welcome back to the Game! Yes this build can help you with Vets and Trials. This build currently doesn't run any Scribing skills, so you should be good there.
This is the only somewhat beginner friendly video I've seen on tanking. I'm still leveling so having things simplified is a lot easier for me to understand. Thank you.
Thank You ZaneTrain92 for letting me know, that I might need to make more video a little more beginner friendly. As I do also forget from time to time that I didn't know as much about the game as I do now. 😎👍
Bookmarked this video so i can keep coming back for reference thanks for the video
Your Welcome! Thank you for stopping by!
Thank you. Great build guide
Thank you!!! I really appreciate you taking time out of your day. To leave a nice comment. I really hope this guide helps you in your many adventures through Tamriel. 😎👍
Cool video but this is based around the fact YOU choose to ONLY do group activities, alot of players do SOLO content so this is no help to us 😊
I do alot of group content, however I normally PUG the content. This video was not advertised as a "solo build." This was about how I would build a Dragonknight Tank for this update. With some other option of gear for monster sets I like to use. Beginner sets I like to use, and that I thought would be helpful for new players.
It's actually very helpful for solo, stop expecting people to spoon feed you everything, learn the game by playing, and be more appreciative 😊
@@robertvittitoe1195 Thank you! I really appreciate hearing that. 😎👍
What a bitchy comment. 😂😂
**Ability Rotation:** General: Taunt powerful adds > group adds > Choking Talons > Engulfing Flames > Elemental Blockade Bar Switch Pierce armour > Igneous Shield > (Taunt + Heal as required) Boss Fight: Pierce armour > Igneous shield Bar Switch Elemental Blockade > Engulfing flames (Taunt + Heal as required)
Yup, just a basic rotation I typically do.
i don’t understand this
@@megamau923 this is to explain the basics of what skills you should use and for what reason they are used for.
@@Cpt_NateDog729 i see, what do “adds” mean ?
@@megamau923 "adds" mean a group of smaller enemies that usually have less then 40k health per enemy. There may be some enemies in that group to have more health. As the game devs do this to make it look like an easy group of enemies. Then surprise you with hard hitters.
What would be the ideal ability rotation in combat for this build?
When it comes to an add pull, I look for the most dangerous targets and want to make sure those will be taunted first. Then find where most of the adds are grouped. Start with a range taunt on the dangerous targets, Then move to the group adds and cast talons. While the adds are immobilize for the 4 seconds. I use chains to pull in the remaining adds with in that time frame. Just right before the time is up for the immobilize, I then use Engulfing Flames. Try using this in a semi circle while using it to effect as may adds as you can. If you use stone giant then it will just need to be cast as this effects enemies in the area. After that cast element blockade. Then switch to front bar and make sure to use piece armor on the most dangerous target first to debuff. Then cast Igneous Shield to apply the Crimson oath. After that it's just making sure adds stay grouped, you are doing ok with health, and you have taunted enemies. If it is a boss fight I make sure to just run at the boss use piece armor to grab taunt and reduce the armor. Then cast Igneous Shield to apply Crimson oath debuff. Switch bars hit element blockade to hopefully apply the crusher enchantment rather quickly. Then hit the boss with Engulfing Flames. Then it's just make sure to always have taunt on the target. Group any adds the boss summons, cast green Dragon Blood if your Health is low. Then keep Crimson oath active, apply Wall of Elements, and Engulfing Flames. Alot of times though you are really just reacting to what the boss is doing to apply what you need.
Earned a sub 🎉
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate you doing that.
hi, can i use this build for solo
You can use it solo, however getting through content will be slower. Since this build really doesn't deal a lot of damage. If you use the Tremorscale set, this will help reduce enemies resistance. Make you hit just a little harder and the set also does some damage out of the sets that I suggested in the video.
Thx for the video. I stopped playing in greymoor and want to get back into the game. I'm definently gonna have to grind for the new sets, but I think it's smart to do it on a dps. Is stam sorc still a strong dps? I'm using new moon and vicious ophidian, and velidreth with a perfected maelstrom bow. Is this still viable?
Thanks for stopping by. I would agree, that it would be smarter to farm gear quicker with a dps. With all the new updates that has happen since Greymoor, Stam sorc have improved. As to answer if that setup is viable. It's a little hard to answer with out knowing every detail to your build. If you can get the content you want to get done, then it is viable. It's sounds like it should work.
@@Cpt_NateDog729 sorry I should've specified I'm a tank main XD
@@joshuagarcia2642 It's all good. I main as a tank as well. It is a little hard with all the new sets since Greymoor to really tell you what to run. Things I may say you should totally run, may work for you or have the polar opposite effect. I know sorcerer have bonus damage to dealing physical and shock damage. I know many people don't run new moon as much as they use to run.
How do I put all those skills on one bar?? Which bar should I use for my main?? And sorry I’m new I don’t even know how to use my back bar!
Good questions, bar swapping will not be possible till level 15. The Xbox bar swap button is the left button on the directional pad. For PC I believe it's the tab button. These can be change to other buttons if you don't like that setup. Your main bar weapon is any one handed weapon and shield. The back bar is an ice staff. The skill setup is found at 14:57 and you can change the order of those skill however you like.
Thank you so much for the reply brother!! Just got a like and follow!! Still trying to figure this massive game out lol
@@codycampbell4702 Your Welcome! Let me know if you have other questions. Will try my best to answer them

@codycampbell4702 I mostly play on Xbox as Cpt NateDog729. I just started on PC as Cpt_NateDog729.
Does it matter what I make the heavey and light gear on
For the Monster set you can either run Heavy, or light for the helm. Then I run the opposite for the shoulders. For the body, Yolnahkriin is a Heavy armor set. So I have 6 Heavy, and 1 light. Thank you for clearing this up for others.

Maybe content-wise ok, but I can't watch those 30fps. I can literally see every frame. Game music in the background a little too loud.
Sorry not playing in a very strong pc to do videos on it.
Does it matter what race I use?
The race doesn't really matter. I went with a Nord, cause they seem like they would be one of the races to be a Warden. Since they like there cold, hardy snow land. Plus a nice resistance helps too. I believe I listed some other races that can help out as a tank. Again, pick the race YOU want to play as and have a blast with it.
Have to admit that's pretty good Synergy with the two sets and the fact Warden has a lot of long-time Buffs.
Thanks, I really appreciate it.
Would grace of gloom armor be good for my healer Warden. What type of armor names should i search in dungeons for my healer Warden and should i be both healer or dps both also what race would be best for Warden healer. I subscribed to ur channel
The Grace of Gloom set is mostly a Tank set. Since it give you healing taken not healing done. Some good starting sets for healers are. Sanctuary (The Banished Cells 1&2) Mostly for the healing received for you and 11 group members. Which helps you heal much easier. Combat Physician (Wayrest Sewers 1&2) This provides you or a group members a damage shield when every you critically heal them. Making your job easier since they have some damage mitigated. In general you are looking for Max magicka, critical chance, healing done, courage, magicka recovery, or force. As for Healer/dps typically you don't see this. Cause healers are buffing the group while the dps is focused on doing as much damage as fast as possible. This can be pretty challenging to do. By buff you and group and doing a ton of amount of damage as well. For race, any race would work. I just went with an Argonian since they have more healing done is what I like. If you want more magicka the Breton or High Elf can help you there.
Just switched from healer templar to healer warden and I'm really enjoying the class
Ya, the warden class is really fun to play around with. It's the first class where I made at least a healer, tank, and dps.
Great video thank you 👍
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching my video, and taking time to leave a comment as well. 🙏
Cool build ty.
Your Welcome!!
On the one-bar build, you forgot to list the Ultimate. I'm guessing it was Barrier (to be morphed)
I apologize for missing that information. Yes, I use Barrier morph into Reviving Barrier. Thanks for letting me know and clearing that up for others.
Great info for Warden healers. Do still think curse eater is a good option? Thanks for all the great info.
Personally I wouldn't use it. Just cause you will be giving up a 5 piece set, that you could maybe use a group recovery set or more group damage output set. I like using cleanse in the Support skill line. Since you gain magicka recovery for slotted, you heal allies for X% of the max health. It also does clear 3 negative effects like curse eater as well. Negative side effects is you do lose a skill slot, and it is expensive to cast. When Cleanse in the game, there are not to many dungeons and trails that have heavy mechanics where you will need to cleanse the group constantly through the entire fight. If it was every dungeons and trail that had killer mechanics that needed to be cleanse, then I would probably run the set. This is just me, if you feel like it will work for YOU. then I would say go for it, since really no two players play the same.
what is the outfit set you use?
Head: Hollowjack Helm Chest: Ra Gada Jack Shoulders: Honor Guard Epaulets Hands: Celestial Gloves Waist: Welkynar Belt Legs: Ivory Brigade Breeches Feet: Soul Shriven Shoes I'm not sure if you want the colors or not just let me know. I hope this helps you out.

Thanks for all the tips. To be honest I don't build much dps on the channel. I am not really good at doing rotations. As I tend to be a button smasher, rather then keeping calm. I know when running my one bar and definitely not hitting a light attack in-between every rapid strikes. I was able to at least hit 75k and was pretty happy (after 5 attempts with button smashing 🙃 😅) I will go try some of those out and see if I can get better at being a Dps and maybe improving the build if needed.
my healer has a destruction staff for elemental drain and applying dots and debuffs and on the other bar its a restoration staff with extended ritual, one of the templar burst heals and illustios healing, blessing of protection and radiating regeneration its very powerful i ran 3 vet dungeons and barely any player died because my heals are so powerful
Nice! Is there certain sets you are wearing, that helped you have powerful healing?

Hi, yup I did cover other options for some sets you can use on your build. I listed them off at 31:14 in the video. Hopefully that will help you out.
Well I made this build its fun
Sorry I haven't been able to get an update finished for you! I am glad you like it and are having fun with it 👍
You need to go through the cp trees bro can just go straight to treasure hunter ect
I figured slotted star were more important then all other ones. Since you can have them all by cp 1500 roughly.
No SPC suggestion? I prefer it over olorimes because in mobile fights most people don’t stand inside the ring and you lose a lot of dps. But in a well organized group that know how to stack, that set works well. Also good mythics to keep on hand for healers is spaulder of ruin and death dealers fete. One gives lots of damage whereas the other gives lots of recovery, but good video.
@Travis Jones Did I miss spc as another option. I believe I cover other set options at 31:14 for those who haven't been in any trails sine both sets are trail sets. Thanks for letting others know that Spell Power Cure works as well. I also like using it when you have a dungeon run. It almost seems like dungeons are always rough. I haven't done to much testing with the Fete mythic myself. I will have to try that out. Thanks for taking time to help others out with some options. I appreciate you doing so.
@@Cpt_NateDog729 Yeah I generally do Spell Power Cure and Powerful Assault in dungeon content. The rest is the same. The perfected Master Resto was a game changer tho. It allows you to play with your build more since its almost equivalent to Symphony of Blades
@@travisjones7953 I never thought of powerful assault as a healer. I will need to play with that one as well. Thanks for ideas, this is great.
Is this build good for trials
Yup it still works for trails. Gives alot of recovery back to the group. So, if your group runs sets that require to have lower resources. Then you you may need to change your gear. Will be working on an update to this, hopefully soon. Since there has been some changes to the passives from High Isle to Firesong Dlc. Also want to give a guide on a one bar setup with this build as well. I appreciate you stopping by and asking a question.
Sweet I reckon ill wait to make this build since yall will update it thanks for the build on healers there are not that many builds out there ill be waiting 😁
Why are you running Stone Talker on both bars? Surely you only need it on the back bar, like RO or other HA sets. By doing this, SPC can go on your body to give you a free front bar weapons slot, where you could add the master resto or BRP resto depending on the situation. You shouldn't be relying on resto HAs for your sustain, and the major mending is not necessary in many situations, as other sets (Hollow Fang, Winters Respite) can just be substituted to increase the out put. So I don't really see a reason for it to be double bared, since healers never double bar these HA sets.
No, you don't need to run Stone talkers on both bar. How I play my healer, is to make it simple for me to have Stone talkers able to proc on both bars. All the examples you gave are really good option and how to fine toon the build. Those would work and I maybe consider them in an updated video as I fine toon this build as well. Thanks for some added advice, I really appreciate 😎👍
Great video, thanks. Definitely giving me some cool ideas for a new healer I'm thinking of creating. 😎
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it and taking some time to leave a comment. I really appreciate you doing that.
I'd recommend swapping our boundless storm and dark deal around as you only need to pop the storm skill every 20 seconds or so, whereas dark deal can be used on your main bar if you need some stamina before a heavy attack. It saves on the barswapping!
Yup, that would be a way better way to setup the bars. Thanks!
@@Cpt_NateDog729 No problem man! Sorc tank is my main one, love running it. I also tend to run silver leash over dark deal, unless I'm doing a boss fight in which case I quickly swap to it. Another one I quite like is empowered ward! It gives you and allies increased health and stamina recovery! Although the 99% block mitigation on an active bound aegis is really good for harder content.
@@Deruwugen ya, I know I forgot to cover where to put silver leash in the build as that comes in handy to pull adds together. Thanks again for giving people another option on setup. I appreciate it!
@@Cpt_NateDog729 Of course man! I only run pulls for trash clears, I do my best to swap to dark deal beforehand but some DDs are real keen on attacking the boss the moment it comes in range xD
Haha, Ya I know what you mean 🤣
are there any good base game substitutes on the Begging Gear Staff's?
You could use Medusa on the weapons and jewelry since it is a heavy armor set found in arx. This will give you better odds of a critical heal to proc your combat physician. The problem would be the lack of spell damage. You could use the crafted set hunding rage. This give you the same stuff as law of julianos, just instead of a max magicka you get max stamina. There is the healer habit set found in drsgon star arena. Or be bought from vendors that give you minor mending at all times, which is 8% healing done. I also believe a 5% healing increase as well on the set. With max magicka, recovery, and spell damage as well. Let me know if this help or would like more options.

Can I still use your front bar with oakensoul? Or should I swap out some skills from back bar
I personally haven't tried this build out with an oaksoul ring on. If I was going to, I would change some skills around on the back bar to put on the front bar. Personally, I would do enchanted growth, to give the group magicka and stamina recovery. Even though we get the recovery from our oaksoul, we don't know if other people are using oaksoul. If you know they are then I would leave it off. Another one I would do is energy orb. This is to give the group a synergy and some extra healing. Then aggressive warhorn, for major force if no one in the group is running it. If you have people who run warhorn, then you should be ok with running healing thicket. For skill I would drop to replace on front bar are illustrious healing, since we already have an AOE HOT from budding seed. Then radiating regeneration, since we can use an orb for a heal over time. Thus is just what I would do, again I haven't tried it myself yet. I will do some testing and get back to you with it or make a build video out of it.
So I did some testing. With skills as Budding seed, enchanted growth, energy orb, growing swarm, combat prayer, and ultimate healing thicket. Sets as Symphony of blades heavy helm healthy enchantment (or any monster set to give you 4% healing done) then anyway you want your peice of stone talkers oath, and spell power cure. With a healthy trait on at least one peice of the jewelry and oakensoul ring. I was able to critical heal for 28,881on the pts server. So it may drop a bit if they give any other surprise changes. If you don't want enchanted growth, and want radiant regeneration for a better area of heal over time effect. This will drop the critical heal to less then 400, so roughly about 28,481for a critical heal. Hopefully that helps you out. Let me know if I need to be more clear about more of the details.
Hi mate. Nice video. On the advanced setup there is no pull or immobilisation? How to you get around that?
If you are comfortable enough with sustaining on the build. You could change dark deal to encase, then morph into restraining prison for an immobilize skill. The other one I would change if you really want a pull is scalding rune. Change that to silver leash for a pull. You will lose 5% bonus for critical damage since you won't proc the fire damage buff for Elemental Catalyst, which will be ok. Sorry for not explain this work around in the video. I hope this helps you out.
2:17 Why not pick the Atronach instead which increases magicka recovery?
When playing a healer, you are trying to get the most out of your heals so you can keep the group alive. You can use the Atronach if you feel like your recovery is really low. I personally feel I have plenty to keep up spells. Along with heavy attacking to provide major mending it also get you magicka back, and also proc our Stone talkers set for group recovery, including us as well.
@@Cpt_NateDog729 Thanks. I'm still learning how to strategize my Warden build. I solo PvE a lot but I also play with my friend too, so I act as the healer in delves and such. It's a challenge figuring out the right build since every person has their own particular play style.
@@avatar19822 Your welcome! Yes it is hard to know what build is for you. Since alot of people don't really play the same way. I hope the guide was helpful and gave you some ideas!
underrated tank class! nice build nate, ur production quality has increased so much from when i 1st subbed to you
Thanks, I been trying harder to produce better quality videos. I appreciate you taking time to check out the video, and encouraging words.
So, why not heavy armor given all the passives support resources gain more health, etc whereas light gives you the chance to crit (big IF) and recovery (which you should be heavy attacking anyway). Then why not any medium pieces (crit healing and a stam boost are nice for mechs). I am new to the healing scene and these are genuine questions.
These are good questions! So for stats on a healer you are mostly focused on max magicka, enough health to keep you alive, magicka recovery, spell damage, and spell critical. So when it comes to armor that help out in these categories. Heavy armor helps us with max health, resources when we take damage, and more magicka and stamina after a heavy attack. For medium armor, we benefit from critical healing and spell damage, for light armor, we gain magicka recovery, reduce the cost of all magicka abilities, and increase our critical chance. By wearing more light armor, you will be able to sustain for a longer period of time. It will also allow you to cast more abilities or burst heal allies. It is also more forgiving if you cast to much or burn your magicka pool to fast to recover from this. Is it possible to do heavy armor build? Yes it is, you will just need to find a setup that works for you.
Very new to eso and this guide is extremely easy to follow for new players. Thanks for giving the base name of the skills and for taking the time to make this guide!
Your Welcome! I am glad you found it very easy to follow. I really appreciate hearing that. Thank you! For taking your time to leave a comment out of your day.
I wouldn't use Symphony anymore since most DDs run Bahsei or Coral Riptide and you're basically killing their dps buff with that set.
Yup Symphony would kill there setup, also the Stone talkers set would kill there set as well since it also gives back resources. Along with enchanted growth from the Warden skill line, since it gives them minor intellect and minor endurance. Which is increase magicka and stamina recovery by 15% for 20 seconds. So if you know your group is going to run those sets. I would use the monster head piece that increases your healing done (Earthgore, Sentinel, Troll King, Or Symphony) with Spaulder Ruin shoulder. The body to Twilight Remedy, for synergy potential that the build provides, so you can provide a some up time on minor force if your group doesn't have things to keep there minor force up. There is a cooldown on activating synergy so it won't be 100% up time, but does help. Plus we give them a heal over time effect on them now, all over 15 seconds. More healthing more damage out put.
