Hi, I'm Devyn Duvall. I have decided that it would be a good idea to challenge myself over the next 52 weeks to go on an adventure. Filming the entire time showing off the people that I love, the places I go and the rad things that I do. There isn't much more to me than that, so sit back and watch the year unfold!
Father and Son Hike Snoqualmie to Stevens on the PCT
My dad and I went on 5 day 4 night trip from Snoqualmie to Stevens Pass on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). There were many highs and many lows. Hope you enjoy!
I love getting outside and exploring the world around me! Weekends are meant to be fun and exciting, not time to sit down and relax. Get out there and see something cool.

So can you just get on old blewett and drive around until you find a spot you like?
Great vid. Thanks. Did this a few years ago and it brought back memories. Curious how you packed the motor - did you stash it with gear, or have it mounted for the entire trip?
Very relatable and entertaining!
Yeah it was quite the trip…
Where I live all we get is Ice to ski on. What would you recommend?
Not OP but Volkl Kendo 88, Nordica Enforcer 88, K2 Mindbender 89Ti. Several good options. Woodsman 108 is good if there’s fresh snow.
I’ve just picked these boots up along with the mindbender 116c with kingpin 13s. It occurred to me since these are grip walk soles I could use them on my alpine skis (also grip walk) I clipped in to try it and they seem to lock in tight. Have you had any issues with these in alpine bindings? Thanks for the review!
Grip walk do.not fit alpine (flat) bindings. You need grip walk bindings or tech or mcn.
I love crystal mountain so much
What ski do u use?
It's fun out there. Good ride
Very cool video, awesome that you get to share that with your dad. Keep the content coming, i enjoyed it!
underrated
Where did you get the umbrella shade tent thing
Great videos, well done, interesting to watch.
What happened to the first raft at crystal?
Every time I hike up to Muir I spend the night. I want to spend as much time as I can on the mountain, I have had so many awesome clear nights and so many incredible sunrises up there. I am about to pull the trigger on getting my backcountry ski gear, I smile when I think about how quickly getting back down to the parking lot will be.
Awesume place! mountain biked there when I lived in Seattle!
It’s AL ta, not ALLta.
Salut top vidéo continue juste tu n’as pas préciser la taille taille elle grand normale ou petit ( je fait du 43-44 et je prend du 280-285 mondopoint) mercii
Please always WEAR your PFD 🤙
For new bc skiers, if you're not doing overnight tours or several day camping trips a 20-25liter backpack is perfect for you. My regular day out is usually 7-10hrs (depends on the season and how much light we have) and I always have some spare room in my 24liter backpack even after packing in everything essential.
Great review
What size skis are you running on those atomics? And how tall are you?
They’re 182s and I’m 5’11”
See the "retail cat"? What's that? I love these videos. How old are the oldest on this trip? Hats off! I always wanted to raft the Colorado/Grand Canyon. I hope your ankle is ok! Kinda interested to how that turned out in the long run. So fun to follow along!
Thanks for the comment! My ankle was all good, just a slight sprain.
So you guys could’ve hiked from Buckhorn Lake all the way to the Tubal Cain Trailhead, then walked a mile down to the Silver Lake Trailhead and then 3 miles to Silver Lake. And then Hit Townsend on your way out. Still, that was one heck of an effort. Would’ve been brutal for anyone.
This just totally blew my mind… you’re telling me we didn’t have to go up and over Mt Townsend… oooof
Hello? What happened to the videos?! 😭
They’re going to come back soon!
@@DevynDuvall hallelujah!
What's that shade teepee you have at Billy creek!!!?
Teanaway (Tee-Anna-way). My go-to spot!!
I have the same pair of vantage 107ti and I’m wondering how they compare to them?
This is such a cool video, I think im heading up to white pass in a few days and this got me so hyped
Been riding this run for 25 years now. Billy Creek rocks, just don't litter please. Pack out what ya pack in ;)
Senchi Designs hoody?
I think you're talking about my Melanzana hoodie. Its the best thing in the entire world!
@@DevynDuvall Yeah that's what I meant. Fabric looks similar to Senchi Designs's. From Melanzana's site it looks like you can only buy in-person?
Hello. Great vid. What are the names of the launch and takeout? Thanks!
Hammer Creek to Heller Bar
Awesome and super helpful video! I always assumed ppl just hiked up the couloir. Never thought of traversing over from the lift
just got these, I notice some vids show an orange top clip vs blue? But anxious to try them out soon. Q? the forward lean bottom clip (you said gets filled with snow) I think you are able to flip it 180 degrees and inclease the lean, but my screws kept spinning? So i bailed on trying to take it out? Have you seen this? Seems the screws are pretty small so i hope they don't fail or fall out, may need to epoxy/glue them in place ?
I haven't tried to do anything with flipping this around. Maybe you should take it to your local shop and they may know how to flip it around. Sorry for not being able to help!
Trail looks sick! I need to make a trip there for something other than @Tiger Mountains.
So jelly of fresh tracks
It was so rad, still day dreaming from that day
im taking avy 1 this december. So excited to get into BC. I am debating renting skis + boots or just skis and using my gripwalk tech/downhill combo boots
That’s so rad! Glad you’re getting educated and your boots should be chilling! I have the K2 Mindbender 120s that have that same toe, I believe, and absolutely love them!
Dam I miss Washington 😢
Mine came with the grip walk sole, and I bought the alpine soles, but I noticed that I could click into my alpine bindings with the grip walk sole. Do you think it’s okay to do alpine skiing with the grip walk soles? Thanks!
The reason for this is my bindings allow for grip walk soles. These are the bindings I have and see how they allow gripwalk. Older bindings more than likely won’t accept these soles but majority of the new ones will. Hope this helps www.evo.com/outlet/alpine-ski-bindings/marker-griffon-13-id-2017?image=105843/683787/marker-griffon-13-id-ski-bindings-2020-.jpg&gclid=CjwKCAiAm7OMBhAQEiwArvGi3JB7GzsVzB3vp4rSyYugBYloz0myhTMx9PNHlt2yyZRKxbg84HcNRBoCUJQQAvD_BwE
Yo what ON3P’s are those? Do they work well in both the deep stuff and on piste?
These are the ON3P Woodsman 108. These are the best skis for anything on the mountain. Float really well in the deep stuff and can hold their own on groomers. Only complaint is that they chatter a little but an awesome ski!
@@DevynDuvall nice! Only thing holding me back is the price 😬
@@DevynDuvall you think these would be nice for a one-ski quiver or would I want another pair?
I think these skis are a one quiver for inbounds skiing but not if you want to get into the backcountry. They’re pretty heavy, but ON3P just came out with a touring layup that im thinking of getting this season so I’ll let you know how it is!
Thanks for the vid. Looking to buy the same boot/binding combo (vipec) as you've got and wondering how does the tech inserts work when toe is locked in? Do you have problem with friction like the other video on UA-cam?
I haven’t had an issue with any of that. They seem to work pretty flawlessly together and I really don’t have any complaints with the bindings or boots. Both have worked flawlessly for me!
@@DevynDuvall thanks a lot. Hope mine will too! A little squeeky noise in my boots cuff while walking, but hope this will wear off after use.
What skis are these? What length are they vs your height? Very nice video by the way and you are very good skier.
These skis are the Atomic Vantage 107 TI in a 182 length. Im 5’11” for reference. 🤘🏼
@@DevynDuvall you have exactly the same measures as I have, even the skis have same size, which is reassuring :)
Not sure if you said the size of the boot in the video, but what size are your boots and also what shoe size are you? I wear a 11-11.5 sneaker and I tried on the k2 mindbender 100 in a 27.5 and they fit but were pretty snug. Could barely wiggle my toes and when I took the boot off the liner came out with my foot. Overall comfort was good though. The shop didn’t have a 28.5 in stock.
Im a size 10.5-11.0 and I fit into a 27.5. When I tried the boots on they were snug but when you go to a ski shop they will heat up the shell of the boot and expand the inside of the boot just enough to make your toes roam freely. It was pretty impressive and highly recommend going into a shop and getting boot fitted.
@@DevynDuvall Gotcha. I think I’ll fit better in the 28.5 size. My current nordica boots are 28.5. Thanks for the info! They seem like a really versatile boot.
Thanks for the great review! how do you think the boot skis downhill, between trees, or jumps with a hard and aggressive ski style? How much less stiff do you think it is compared to a true alpine 120 flex boot?
Yo! Yeah so I would say there’s virtually no difference between a true alpine 120 flex boot and this guy. You can ski just as aggressive and just as hard as you would in bounds but have the ability to walk up hill/through the parking lot better. Also, I believe that the flex rating is on the same scale as K2s true alpine boots as well but not sure about that.
