Filmed on-board the first Yellow CAT of the year! The yellow CAT’s main purpose is to provide transport to the ECU campus while the Blue and Red CATs end their service at roughly before 6pm everyday. The Yellow CAT definitely has the strangest timetable in Perth only operation on days that ECU is open but only from Monday to Thursday and open on Labour and WA day public holidays but only from 6...

While having decent sized airliners, Gold Coast Airport also has Bonza operating everyday from Rockhampton, Melbourne and Sydney. While Qantas Boeing 717s...

I think it's in service...
I need a day job
Did you know that Translink 777 bus already serves that SAME route to the airport for 50c ,,, and its timetable times are FASTER than the forecasted LR travel times. Go figure
And if they do build stage 4. This will be the longest LR route in the world ,,,, in opposite to the design philosophy that LR is best suited for short connector type routes between key destinations. Enjoy that 1 hour 50 minute ride from airport to Heavy Rail connection
Oh,,, and how much does the Gov pay GLink to operate is huge loss making business for the next 18 years ??? Your not allowed to know. Smell anything????
And finally, If Light Rail stage is build, Its costly construction with guarantee that fast heavy rail will NOT BE EXTENDED south of Varsity for at least 50 years. Rember HR was proposed in 2003 to be completed to the airport by 2015. Southern GC are being treated like second class citizens
At a time when smart cities are removing level crossings from main roads. The proposed LR stage 4 adds 8 vulnerable to road accident level crossings and will see the demolition of the gold coast highway access flyover replaced by yet MORE TRAFFIC lights TMR just love adding traffic lights
Connecting LR to the airport for ALL the $7000,000,000 estimated cost will NOT deliver any new market. Growth would require the once in a lifetime chance to connect faster heavy rail that would get passengers to and from the greater and faster growing GC/ Brisbane corroder. Heavy rail connects Helensvale in 29 minutes ,,, Unlike the proposed LR route that will take a mind numbing 1 hour 50 minutes. Its expensive rubbish
The mode and route location is based on an ideology believing LR is needed to justify Gov policy of increased building density. It is in fact a trojan horse to amend town planning to drive uplift ,,,, BUT why do they think it viable in the already highest socio economic real-estate zone where people are highly unlikely to stop using private vehicle transport.
The Brisbane Metro is a far better concept ,,, better technology, flexible/ adaptable, scalable much more economical, quieter, no overhead wire and steel track and does not impede existing traffic. And if one car fails,,, the whole stem does not shut down
Thanks mate, sik little vid!
seeing this now is hyping up my dad bc my family and I will be moving to Gold Coast next year start of the year and we absolutely loved it when we went holiday earlier this year, its just beautiful admiring its organization with public transport and easy to get everywhere with connecting regional services nearby
Stage 4 if it goes ahead will go to Coolangatta via the Gold Coast Airport
Fake
Nicely done. Well researched with a good script. Liked the way the visuals were kept linked to the discussion, and their overall quality. As for G-Link. I'm yet to see any city in the world that has applied Light Rail as well as the Gold Coast. The city being long and thin along the coast helps, but it's been well thought out, looks so good you want to use it, and built in logical stages at an appropriate pace
great video. I live on the gold coast and the tram definitely is great and I hugely support all of its extensions however it is a bit odd they are trying to send the tram to the airport instead of the heavy rail. just means travel time for a lot of people will be way higher. but any connection is better than no connection
Great video, nice research.
why did they get rid of the freo cat service
where would the future spur lines that ur talking about at 7:00 go to?
I'm not quite sure, it does not say so specifically but I think they would go towards Burleigh Heads and Varsity Lakes to connect back to the train line.
It hasn't been decided but there have been a few spur lines have been put forward. The ones I've heard are Griffith Uni north to Harbour Town, Main Beach to Seaworld and the Spit, Nobby Beach to Robina, Broadbeach to Nerang and Palm Beach to Elanora.
To sea world would be smart and to harbour town... To the pines would only be smart of they add a train station there
i like g-link because the local car brained sheep complain about it causing traffic when it is literally always packed
Nice video, I just wish the trams were a bit faster
Great for letting people travel up and down the strip but bad for long distance travel. Light rail is just too slow for long distances. They should have reinstated the railway that ran from Brisbane to Tweed heads as a high speed Metro.
& where wold they put it? I elieve the alignment was used for the motorway
@@timallardyce1216 Maybe cut and cover like they did for the New York subway, so it is just under the street? The Wikipedia page: South Coast railway line - Queensland details where it ran. You can click on the OpenStreetMap link at the top right to see it mapped. It went mostly to the West of the Gold Coast with some overlap of the highways. I am not familiar enough with the geography to be more specific. The terminus of the Gold Coast railway at Bowen Hills and Varsity Lakes is way short of the Gold Coast. They could work on that end first. Transport should reach its named destination, not dump you in the middle of nowhere.
stuff about stage 4 of light rail is here www.tmr.qld.gov.au/projects/gold-coast-light-rail-stage-4
This is awesome. I live regional QLD so public transit doesn't exist. I'm a great supporter for public transit for it's efficiency, sustainability and general coolness. I actually would like to see light rail installed in Hervey Bay which is growing rapidly also and I think it's existing "rail trail" is prime if it's possible to preserve the trail while adding light rail capability. It would also be an idea to retrofit the existing rail lines in Maryborough to work with light rail although I accept the viability of that is much lower being a significantly smaller town than Hervey Bay and Maryboroughs rail system may very well be heritage listed. (although I'm suggesting more of an upgrade than a demolishment) Never been to the Gold Coast past school trips to the theme parks which not sure if that even really counts as GC. I think I'm going to make a special trip soon specifically to try this light rail. Thanks for the video it was great!
It is quite good, especially now with 50 cent fares.
Wow, that's a great video again. I like to listen to the story while watching the full ride. So cool
The bus used to be so much fun with a massive backpack
This was great. It was very informative with some nice graphics, cool commentary and, not gonna lie, I really liked the shot of the bat.
Nice editing and video ngl, quite informational and enjoying
Thank you!

electric bus!
Let's hope it gets painted
I wish you recorded these on my birthda6 the next day.
I am always impressed with the quality of your videos. I like the fact the sound is raw and we can hear the tram moving sounds and announcements
wow that was cool but 70km is a tram ☠
The shots of the trains on the bridge were really cool. Why is the yellow doctor called the yellow 'doctor'?
Doctor Yellow is a diagnostic train for the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinaksen, which means its a 'doctor' for the shinkansen network.
They don't have money for the homeless, but they have heaps for these lightning rods.
when you say 'homeless', I'm sure you mean the disenfranchised First Nation people whose home is the land on which the Perth CBD is sitting.
What the city of Perth, couldn't come up with their own design, instead of knocking off,the Melbourne traffic bridge instead, city of Perth even knocked off the building design in Melbourne, I think it's the gallery or museum near Flinders train station, for the RAC ARENA in Perth.
Thats some good editing 😊
At the cost per metre its a rip off😢
Well consider that Brisbane is building a 470m footbridge over their river at a cost of $299M. This is about $150M for 1000m. Construction materials have risen substantially in the past 5 years, this isn't a huge amount of money to build a sorely needed piece of infrastructure that will be used by thousands of people each day.
Looks fantastic, great project
This is such a great video. Starting the video on the bus creates a sense of journey. The urban planning content and the laid back vibe are very 'you'. I really like that you have highlighted the indigenous design elements of the bridge.
Oh wow! Big production upgrade 💪 well done
Wow! You have edited this video very professionally!
Hey, I remember you! Didn't you used to post youtube videos?🤣
