I think what gets people about the original Nosferatu and Shreck's Orlok was the uncanny valley. He looks like a person but his extremities are bizarrely gaunt and stretched. His expression is so stark and unable to express beyond malice. It got me as a kid.

I did four playthroughs of New Vegas to explore all the options for combat and story choices. Near the end of my first proper run of Skyrim, Alduin suffered a fatal error which had not ever been fixed. I immediately uninstalled because it proved Bethesda has never and will never care about the player. I swore off their games aside from 76 because that's just chill shoot vibes, not a real RPG.

As a fan of open world games. I’d prefer sandbox games now. I feel like since the maps are smaller there’s less filler bullshit and more important landmarks in a map. Not just a little derelict cabin with one of the 200 notes to find throughout the world for that achievement.

I would never call The Mothman Prophecies a horror film. To me it's more of a psychological thriller.

Open world games from a gaming developers perspective are huge risks. You’re talking leveraging insane amounts of money (as open world games are the most expensive to make) and dedicating countless amounts of time trying to curate something that may / may not be a success. Cyberpunk 2077 is a great example of this. In order for an open world game to be a success, it damn near needs to be a masterpiece that’s loved unanimously by the gaming community (GTA, The Witcher, Fallout etc etc).

Commenting early in the video, I really don't think it's open worlds that are becoming tiring, it's bloated, boring open worlds. Big developers are so focused on bigger bigger bigger, and then to justify the space they just drop collectibles and map icons all over the place and call it good. Every so often they'll make an interesting place, but they don't seem to understand what actually makes games fun anymore. It's not enough to just shoot a guy with a gun anymore. Going off of that too, it can't just be fun to explore, it has to be fun to move around it. Too many games are just "walk everywhere" in these massive places, or at best, drive, in a mostly straight line. It's literally just waiting with extra steps. After all, the only thing most games give us as distraction are optional tasks that may be on the way

I find it odd that today is the day I got back into Open World games then I get this in my recommended.

Well Resident Evil 9 is going to be open world and so I think what needs to happen is a different approach to the open world genre as a whole. I'll come back to this channel and see if my predictions were correct later this year and if they aren't I'll gladly take the L; but if I'm correct I'll do the cupid shuffle live in the nood.

The amount of haters - failed sreenwriters/filmmakers coming out of woodwork is astounding. They didn’t have an ambitious film to shit on in a while so now we get a pretentious loudmouth fest.

Maybe one day we can move on from this type of story where a lovestory is involved. The movie started so good.

My main comparison would be Coppola's Dracula as it's just a better adaptation Coppola's movie is a classic but he's so in love with Dracula the other characters feel like afterthought, the final vampire hunt was almost wacky in this movie. This one manage to keep its tone through the end and treat each character with a sincerity I didn't find in Coppola's movie. With Dracula adaptation so rare these day it seems like the best straightforward adaptation of the original book. I feel Eggers is really coming into his own with this movie it feel less gimmicky than his first works.
