Miss You
Miss You lyrics. Words and music by Catherine Slingsby
It’s such sweet torture to miss you when the world takes you away
Want to wrap your arms around me here and let the evening stray
When you return to my side you can taste every kiss you desire
‘Cause my heart’s burning inside me and it’s you that started this fire
Holding on to that moment, yet to pass but I see so clear
A smile lights your beautiful face as you stop and draw me near
Tangle of arms with a laugh then quiet, heart skips a beat
Distance from distance now over, flood of kisses so eager and sweet
So I stand at the edge of that moment, my eyes slow down the clock
Check the window, check the mirror breath held, wait for a knock
Heart-felt ache of separation that held my being innate
Becomes the burn of anticipation as I watch for you, and wait

My son lives in Australia. Thank you to your heroes. You will never be forgotten over here in the Uk from a Brit
Respect to all who served, you will never be forgotten
Lest we forget
My daughter emigrated to Australia 3 yes ago I will attempt to sing this on Xmas party for her but fill up every time I hear it
Beautifully captures the Anzac's. Lest we forget.
Bro in the SADF we were 18..
They would be shocked how everyone is living in Australia 🇦🇺 Fair dinkum. WE are one and are many and if you want change need to Go to Governers Gates to get it And tell her not happy jan .We want our Australia 🇦🇺 back .
the sad part of any war is the lose of the innocent also people of color who served when they came home they got spit on and harrased and treated as dirt
God bless the assiu 😢❤
As a proud Australian I never regret my decision 🇦🇺♥

😢
One of the best recordings of this song i have ever heard. Thank you
Thank you Louise!
Good old Australians love you Frank from Nottinghamshire uk
These are Australian heroes and we hasten to forget them, those who should never be forgotten. We are now a nation divided by politicians who seek to only keep their positions of power to the detriment of the silent majority. It has now become a shameful thing to call yourself a proud Australian and rejoice on Australia Day ... Who would have thought that even remotely possible when these heroes went off to fight fascism.
The time to be brave like them is fast approaching. I love my home and if I must then I will 🇦🇺❤🇦🇺
❤️
So 😍 beautifully presented, love both the music and the voice.....❤
Thank you, Irene!
Brave Aussies.They fought for Freedom.🍺
As a Canuck in the RCN, I've never felt safer then when I had a RAN sailor alongside. Although, they play a damn dirty game of Uckers.
I wanted to follow my biggest brother but meet my x but ended up with 3 beautiful children I was blessed with 🙏🇦🇺🍀🦋
My oldest brother was saved from the war as they went 1day before his bday and 1 day after and lost a good friend who hung himself and I pray he went to heaven 🙏🇦🇺🍀🐞🦋 Karen Lynne Thomson
Respekt
I served in the infantry during the war in Vietnam in 1969. After 10 months in the bush I went to Sydney, Australia for R&R. There were maybe a hundred people at the airport who cheered us on, still thankful for our help in WW2. I didn’t even get that when I got back to the United States. Thank you for ever Australia. 👍🇺🇸
Holds true to the original, well done, if you don't get anything out of this song, you don't have a pulse.
All my prayers go to all the p o w,s of war and thanks🙂 all the best 4 the future, take care, from joey
Thank you. I was born and raised in Can Tho of what was then Phong Dinh Province of South Vietnam. Thank you to all the Australians who fought to defend Vietnam from the communists and their Chinese collaborators. Don't listen to the leftist Western or communist propaganda. Most Vietnamese appreciated your sacrifice. The Western media doesn't report on it, but the VC were decimated during Tet. From then on, the communists had to send soldiers in to attack from North Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The Southern insurgency had ended. Some else mentioned, they weren't VC (South Vietnam guerilla communist) tanks that rolled through the Presidential Palace in 1975, they were North Vietnamese.
I am very touched. I’m American. A US Marine fought in Vietnam. I have read a great deal about the war. I’ve consoled myself by thinking we did honorable service for a dishonorable cause. But you are right. The politicians in both countries were dishonorable. The cause, a free democratic Vietnam, was just. I am crying now because at 80 I just had an epiphany. I’m so sorry I can’t share it with my brothers. Because in battle is what we fought for: each other. Peace my brother.
Good on you Mates... Nicholas John Papadopoulos , Auckland ,New Zealand.
War should never happen again and these young men have suffered enough
I AM PROUD TO HAVE SERVED MY COUNTRY WHEN THE BUGLE CALLED TO ARMS. I am a MECH. FITTER, M.E.O.M.S. 386 SQN , Afghan, 2002, and much A.D.I. work since. We serve in the best way we can . This rendition of the classic is good in the fact that it shows less battle scene , more of what it means to have the BOND of BROTHERHOOD 'that only other vets would understand' -barnsey quote. ! More important in my eyes, it shows, ON DUTY, the unmentioned HEROES of all wars, our faithful best friends, who would step on a mine to protect the pack ! ( DOGS.. ) respect due . many times over to our animal companions in battle. MADDOG. out .
Hey Maddog, thanks for your story. It's things like these that keep the flame alight for educating the young of today. Thank you for the insight into your experience. If the world was perfect, we would never come in contact with each other, but the world is not built that way so thank you for sharing your experiences. Many loyal friends both Horse and dog were loyal to the cause. We are all with you in wishing for a solution.

@@gypsyduo8229 mate told it thus .... a while back now ... VIETNAM . 1969. so ROB says..'.walking on point , 7.65 SLR at ready , when in front of me , an N.V.A. regular stepped out of the scrub. ' i shit meself . right there and then . literally. ' He stood there , SMOKING , AK 47 in one hand , pointed at the ground. 'WHAT YOU DOING HERE AUSSIE . BEEN WATCHIN YOU . THIS NOT YOUR WAR . GO HOME AUSSIE ' and with that , turned his back on ROB, and strolled back into where he came from . ROB, after cleaning out his dacks , got out of VIETNAM asap. and lived a long happy life . They had RESPECT for us , over there . but then again , I suppose we EARNED IT . MADDOG . OUT.
My dad a Canadian war vet said that the Brits, Auzzies, and Canuck made one hell of a unified FIGHTING MACHINE! If not for them the war would have been lost ! God bless them all!
Nice little tribute to the Division that had to go from the sand and dust of the Middle East to the jungles of new Guinea along with their Citizen Military Forces compatriots who had to fight in Australian administered territories. Lest We Forget.

I was only 18 .
I fought in the Angolan Civil War. Same shit . I was an 18 year old Platoon Sgt. fire fight after after fire fight. Bodies after bodies. My mind numb, just another day in the bush. Keep on moving forward. Cubans , Russians, East Germans, regulars, just another body.keep moving, keep killing. After 40 Years later I still go to sleep with my rifle and pistol next to my bed and my fogs sleep with me. I sleep light, wake early and walk in the woods.
thinking of you
From a 52 yr old who has seen some service. .SNAP TO . SALUTE - to you , much due. I find that the solitude of the woods/nature morning sojourn (I am an AUSSIE ) allows one's soul to find a peace that otherwise eludes us. (as Barnsy said; its somethin only other vets could understand') please reply, AS WE HAVE MUCH TO DISCUSS .
WISH You all a peaceful Christmas 🌲☃️🌲☃️☃️☃️🌲🌲🌲🌲 DrEva love from Australia ❤️
