Sounds like there’s more to the story
@@maryannweldin4633 Their most certainly is. To me, Matt Warner was the famous outlaw no one has heard of. I will be doing more videos about him.
Good reading, interesting story.
Hi, do you have any idea who owns the Ferris Haggerty property? I have been attempting to reach out to them for a while
@@marnusBOTHMA I don’t know. I’m sorry. I haven’t been there in a few years. I think someone in Craig, Colorado might own but I’m not 100% sure. If you go to the Carbon County WY Assessor site. You could look at their GIS map. Another option would be OnX hunting App. That one will cost you money though.
@@WestwardTreks All good, thanks for the tips!
No. People testified he came back.
part 2 butch & sundance, please.
@@MrBrassford part 2 was released yesterday. Thanks for watching.
they died in Bolivia.
Butch's sister said there was a family reunion with Butch in 1925.
@@mr.t7332 I did hear that.

More "what if" clickbait . . .
You are not oatmeal. Stop trying.
His grave was never confirmed anywhere.
Josie and Ann Basset say no. 😊
She was a pistol! 90 lbs. red headed fireball. As a child she was playing with a grizzly cub, the hands told her to quit but, she didn’t, they had to kill the sow. I think she was 9. First white woman born there, wet nursed by a Ute woman. She was dressing like an Indian and as wild as they come, daddy sent her off to boarding school, to straighten her out. 😢 could you imagine her on horseback, tipping cattle by their tails, at a gallop? Broke a few of their necks doing so. Queen of the rustlers.
My cousin. This was the beginning of the end for the hole in the wall gang. Valentines brother J J Hoy wrote letters to the government of the 3 states, marshals took up the chase. No longer could the gang enjoy state lines.
My cousin. This incident was the beginning of the end for Butch and his gang. Federal marshals were coming at the in all 3 states.
@@rdhoy Do any of the Hoys live in North west Colorado still?
@@WestwardTreks I wish I knew. If there are I’d sure like to know. The family broke up pretty fast after Valentines death. Hoy mountain was named after Valentine. I see there’s still a hoys marsh, north side of the green river. I have a photo of my great grandparents, 2 great uncles , and grandpa, going back to Illinois after selling a ranch in Colorado. Grandpa had a cousin out there that he unsuccessfully tried to kill twice. Gun misfired both times. Had kin folk in eastern Colorado, around sterling. 3 of the hoy brothers brand is A6. I’ve connected with my 6th cousin, twice removed, she’s sister Emily’s great great granddaughter. Emily was the 5 hoy boys little sister. My tells a story that grandpas cousin spent his life in the penitentiary. Valentine after his ranch hand was shot, was kept against his will at the Basset’s overnight. He was pissed and gun ho, which is why he was first in the posse. Annie Basset I believe married the foreman of the 2 bar, moved to L.A. comeback 20 yrs later and, still wanted to kill cattle. Tom Horn killed her finance, which started the cattle killin.
My 3rd cousins, the Hoys 5 brothers and a sister, had ranches at the time also. Valentine was shot and killed while pursuing the murders of a young ranch hand. They named Hoy mountain after him. Hoys marsh is still there on the north side of the green river. They raced horses on a hoy ranch, it was an old Ute race track, Butch Casady raced there, while he was still a wrangler. Louie la more, used Mexican Joe in the book, Ride the Dark Trail, which was associated with a real incident with Valentine. Mexican Joe was the leader of a gang, he’d pull his knife from behind his head and hone, just before he’d strike. Valentine pulled a boot knife and would have killed him if not for fact of his arm deflected by the gang. Cut Mexican Joe across the butt cheek so bad that he couldn’t sit for 3 weeks. James Hoy, journaled their time there, his manuscript was published by Colorado A&M college1952 . I’d like to have a copy.
@@rdhoy very interesting. Thanks for the feedback. The history of Browns Park fascinates me.
@@WestwardTreks me too!
Can you do the story of bloody bill Anderson
Matt Warner was my father's uncle, but I never heard this story. After doing prison time, he was hired as a deputy sherrif in Carbon Co. Utah.
@@stephencoleman3578 that’s interesting. He was also a judge and tax collector in Price Utah.
I really enjoyed the story!
@@smilinkyle I appreciate the feedback. Thank you!
Great story!
Corruption goes back all the way from dawn of law enforcement
You can see the tracks and robbery site from I-80. I used to be on I-80 a lot in my days in the oilfield many years ago. Pretty cool to think of the history that happened out there on that lonely stretch of tracks.
That rawhide was a very nice piece of art. It probably took some young lady quite some time to make it.
No one buries their money there is no such thing as hidden treasure
Throughout history people buried a lot of money and valuable things. A lot of them are still in the ground!
Are you like some typa walking ignorance that has access to the internet but refuses to search a lick of information up?!? Wow, we’re complete opposites bc I couldn’t stand to be at the least, a little informed on any given subject I actively try to participate in, people like you shouldn’t have access to to phones let alone the internet because we can get a good idea of who or how you are from such a simple comment💀😂 btw, people currently still bury “treasure” and we are still finding anything from private family owned hordes to wealthy kingdoms covered up silver and gold, and there’s still ancient Aztec artifacts unaccounted for and undiscovered, being Hispanic and you trying to convince me that “no one buried their treasure.” Is such a silly statement when you don’t even know if you can believe in that opinion yourself😂
Ngl when i first seen this inthought it was a really great graphics video game until the dog came into view, I wonder who built it and what stories it has to tell nothing more interesting to me than a abandoned building
Unfortunately he killed his dog by patting it....
How cool is that!
Your dog has one blue eye and two brown eyes like mine.
Mine too
Breathtaking.
Evil
That is very cool thank you for the history lesson I love history 👍
Very cool man
Hell of a turn buckle from a time in which you know it had to be hand wrought.
Excellent story. It is refreshing when an underdog wins. If you can call Queen Ann an underdog. ❤❤
Cruel but effective.
Animal abuse - what a horrible person
Wasn't that a picture of Pat Garrett?
Baggs Wyoming! Driven by good old Baggs many times.
Thank you I enjoy these videos
I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
Well....... You left the story in the middle! What happened? Who did what to whom?
It’s a 5 part series. Subscribe to my channel @westwardtreks to see parts 1 through 4.
The first fbi operation.
Kind of sounds like all of us poor souls in Massachusetts we're all just trying to live and then some a****** named Maura Haley came along and started taking away all our rights
U all cattle set free and freessst
I Guess because it's a state park you're not allowed to metal detect out there huh ...
This area is a wildlife refuge. I’m not sure what the rules are.
Horn is one of my husband's great great grandfather . Pretty interesting huh?
That is very interesting.
I had a buddy who was a decendant of Daniel Boone. Had his name too
The cattle barons used him and then left him hanging. He was set up and hung him
He had two booties!
It's be found .
I'm still looking for the loot that Black Jack Ketchum buried. They hung him in Clayton, New Mexico. When they put him in jail he was a normal man. Sitting in jail for about a year he gained around 100 lb. When they hung him, his head popped off.😮 The supposed location is in Colfax county buried somewhere along the Cimarron River. Is estimated to be $20,000 in gold coin.😅 According to my calculations it's somewhere on the UU BAR Ranch.🤔
Nope. I got it. Long before i was born i took a trip out there myself with a pack horse and a rifle. No clothes, just a glass of water and a rifle. And a horse. No, he cant have it back, finders / keepers.
Is that near Maybell Co?
It is about 40 miles north of Maybell.
Price ?
