That’s insane! How many laps were you doing, or were you doing a different goal?

Yeah, I was looking through the top usage percentages for Reg H (idk if it was percentages on Showdown or if it was the Reg H legal mons from Reg G percentages) and the top 5 were Incineroar (no surprise), Rillaboom, Gholdengo, Amoonguss, and Bloodmoon Ursaluna. So… 3 of the top 5 are sp. attackers, and Amoonguss is mainly for disrupting your opponent with Spore and Rage Powder.

@@hiangus25 I feel like it’s important to consider all possible outcomes in VGC, Clefairy and Amoonguss might be really popular, and being able to hit their teammate without having the Rage Powder/Follow Me redirection is important if they have a setup sweeper like Kommo-o Clangorous Soul

@@hiangus25 that’s not saying Stamina isn’t a bad option, but I feel Stalwart is better for the set I have.

@@Marblegamingmaster but kommo-o is not good and the percentage of sets that run follow me clefable or rage powder amoonguss are minimal compared to the ampunt of times duraldon is hit physically(at least half)

Looking through Pikalytics, and I see Incineroar, Rillaboom, Amoonguss, Gholdengo, Bloodmoon Ursaluna in top 5, Farigiraf, Indeedee Female, Annihilape, Pelipper, and Archaludon in top 10. So, not counting mixed attackers, there are 6 Sp. Attackers out of the top 10 most used.

@@pettyjones that’s also true… not many “good” VGC Pokémon get it though lol. It’s like Rhyperior and that’s it.

@@jeremybishop9307 I think their thought process was that I wasn’t going to use Substitute twice (even though it was toxic’d.) But either way, they knew I had Substitute and pressed Twave anyways lol

Thank you! I don’t think it’s as great as it could be, since my only legend was Terapagos which was very useful, and I used unconventional sets.

This was monotype, so I couldn’t use Slowking. The special attacking Ursaluna was an Hisuian Zoroark. My Ursaluna has Facade, Trailblaze, Play Rough, and protect.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure what mons would go great for mono-fire, and originally I thought the only “compatibility” was Torkoal-Gouging Fire, but they all work together pretty well

Yeah, I like to pretend I’m actually good. 😮‍💨 I’m probably in like that 40-45% range of Pokémon players ranking. I usually do random battles, bc I’m not good at making teams 🤣 but they can screw you over. Sometimes you have a good team and sometimes you don’t. That’s my favorite part of random battles, you have to work against challenges your team has.

Good question. The answer is, Tauros’s ability Sheer Force. If a move has a secondary effect, it gains 1.3x damage, and also for some reason, ignores the life orb recoil. Close Combat doesn’t have a secondary effect technically, so it still gets the Life Orb recoil.

@@Marblegamingmaster good to know. I haven’t played since gen 7 (apart from legends arceus) so I had to go check if they nerfed close combat lol

@@Marblegamingmaster to be real if sheer force as made so that malus types of attacks like close combat or leaf storm were never getting their drawback it would have made this ability super broken

@@Boo-kn5fethat’s true. Some moves are OP without the secondary effects. If you somehow got Mind Reader with Sheer Force with Zap Cannon, Eruption, etc. their base power would be 225 without missing. 😮
