Penny Lane Beatles Lyrics Celebrated in New Art at Penny Lane, Liverpool
Penny Lane Beatles Lyrics have been commemorated at the Penny Lane roundabout in Liverpool. The song "Penny Lane" is one of the Beatles most famous songs and has immortalised this Penny Lane district of Liverpool.
Thousands of Beatles fans visit Penny Lane every year, yet the shelter in the middle of the roundabout, mentioned in "Penny Lane", has been an empty building for over 20 years. A local residents group has now commissioned a local artist to celebrate the "Penny Lane" song on that shelter.
Unveiled by Liverpool's Lord Mayor, Richard Kemp, the shelter now tells the story of the Beatles song lyrics in "Penny Lane" in a really creative way.
More improvements are planned too.

    This is the first time, through this interview that I finally understand what happened with Pete Best and Ringo in the evolution of the Beatles. Thank you for emphasizing the massive contribution that Pete made when the group were the 'live' rock and role band, the 'Beatles' at the start in their early days at the Cavern and in Hamburg. Pete finally gets his recognition. Ringo was the best fit for the group in vibe and personality and the best drummer for their recording career. Thanks for the history.

    OK so Ringo was or wasn't a better drummer, according to who spoke. But Ringo was "a better Beatle". I suppose because he constantly made funny remarks during interviews. Or because he didn't look like a fashion model like Best. Or because of religious reasons he had in common with the management. Or because he wasn't infatuated with an "exotic" dancer. Not quite sure what is the relevance of speculating about it 70 years later, to me it sounds like one of those angry religious debates about whether angels are female or male. Especially since the statements made about the events are "official" statements, which aren't necessarily very close to the real reasons. But gosh.... Who cares ?

      @@dmtinverness i actually took the time to read through this and its the biggest nothing burger ive ever seen, this does not look like pauls brother, this photo makes paul look taller and my favorite example, this picture is photoshopped because pauls neck is black. when in reality its probably a shadow from a camera flash. also funny that apparently i actually took the time to read this paper hoping after hearing about this rumor for decades to see some sort of evidence and its the biggest nothing burger ive ever seen, most of it is just someone looking at photos and saying "no" because they already came to a conclusion and need to make this fit there view, pauls brother, not his brother, a paid actor, paul and his brother being a year apart, not real because "they look similar". Paul at a wedding, not real because the author said so. Paul making a song for a James Bond film is used as evidence because "british intelligence made both of them and they love twins" no wonder paul jokes about it, the people who believe it will just make anything up to support the belief they thought of before "researching"

    After Eddie Clayton, Ringo went to my father's band, The Dark Town Skiffle Group. My father was the only band member with a car so he would pick up Ringo and his kit from his home. This was the first time that Ringo got to play a full kit outside of his home. My father left the group at one point stating that he didn't feel skiffle was "in" any more then later came back to the band which we think then became (Eddie and) the Cadillacs. Both bands names are listed bricks on the outside of the Cavern walls so we presume Ringo played at the Cavern with the Cadillacs at the time. Ringo was in the band around 1958 then went to Rory Storm next. So from what is said in this video, it would match up with the fact that a lot of skiffle bands changed their name as they started playing rock n roll instead. The Dark Town Skiffle Group played at the Cavern in 1957 on the same night as The Quarrymen but Ringo was not in either group at the time.

      @OlskZeri That's bollocks. Paul was between around 18-28 during the Beatles. The small differences are justified based on biology and vocal range alone. Most people that think they are different people haven't even heard their whole catalogue. And another thing, stop throwing these stupid words around like 'normie', will be 'casual' next. Makes you look more an idiot than the person your dishing it out to.

    The "Paul is dead" thing is a guess at something they encoded in the Beatles work, and each have confessed that their work is meant to be decrypted by "future generations". The way they play it is to only say what is wrong. They never egged on additional guesses. So think again- what DOES The Beatles music mean?

    It was more a personality thing than Pete's inability to play the drums to the standard required. As mentioned here, it doesn't take any group, let alone The Beatles, two years to find out if your drummer can't drum! You've got to feel for the man, as he missed out on the kind of fame and fortune that most groups can only dream of, but, I think he received a nice financial compensation package from The Beatles Anthology CD/DVDs in the mid-90s, for the recorded work he did with them pre Ringo joining, and rightly so. Thanks for uploading - I liked it and subscribed.

    Best proof that PID is a hoax: Lennon's line "those freaks was right when they said you was dead" in How Do You Sleep. Anybody with half a brain understand he wouldn't sing that to an imposter, but it works great as an insult to Paul.

    • @OlskZeri-p2z
      @OlskZeri-p2z 19 днів тому

      You are missing the point that "freaks" have a double meaning. The song is not directed at Paul McCartney, it is directed towards William, the replacement. That is why John sings: "The only thing you've done was Yesterday (JPM) and since you've gone (dead) you are just Another day (William).

    • @marty48
      @marty48 19 днів тому

      @OlskZeri-p2z If it's directed at the imposter, why would he say he is dead? It's directed at Paul, obviously laughing at the hoax at the same time. The Yesterday line says "the only thing YOU did", he wouldn't sing that to the imposter.

    The way I understand it, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, that before recording Love Me Do, Pete had always played it a certain way but when it came to recording George Martin had changed some of the arrangement which threw Pete off so when you listen to the Pete Best cut from Anthology 1 it sounds like a hot mess(to be honest the whole song sounds off). Pete had been playing the song a certain way forever so how he needed to change. Muscle memory is a hard thing to break and when you're so conditioned in something it's hard to change and perfect the change and unfortunately recording studio time is limited so Pete wasn't granted a learning curve.

    I guess neither Pete nor Ringo had ever taken drumming lessons back then . They had a sweaty practice behind as being self taught , not to mention their lenghty performances in Hamburg . Is a session drummer familiar with drum notations ? It's a quicker learning with a teacher , even when you're gifted and whatever the instrument you play . But it takes time and money ... Ringo in my opinion has never been an exceptional technician . During an interview by dan rather he said that he hated to practice . Maybe was he more creative and inspired than pete best .

    Great video , but what interested me was John's Rolls Royce drove by at 302 in the video , so are there more than one of these cars ? I live on Vancouver Island BC Canada and John's RR is at the Royal BC Museum in storage , in fact it is going to be coming up for sale they are hoping that another Museum will buy it or maybe the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ..
