Waste Management BYD Electric Garbage Truck
I've been wanting to film the electric ASL that the Irvine yard had, and finally had the chance to do it. Here we got 108958 (BYD Amrep ASL) doing trash with such a cool driver behind the wheel. I was honestly surprised how quite this truck is during take off. I liked how the arm was fast, it was the only thing you could ever hear from a distance. Big thanks to the driver for letting me film!

Yep! EDCO has a Rotopac now running in Signal Hill doing organics, it also does trash & recycle earlier in the day. This is I believe Southern California's first rotopac to be used. I’m not too sure about the whole charging situation is like for this truck….
Arm cycles seem disproportionately loud given the truck is otherwise quiet as a Tesla. Nice video!

Yesterday, I saw a garbage truck that had the Mack logo and was a side loader and it’s really new for my city
Awesome Video. It’s pretty interesting how Athens paints only paints the lid colors in this area. In areas where I usually film, the whole can would be painted a certain color.
Thanks! It’s only a few cities that just have black bodies with colored lids, Norwalk is another city that has the same exact bins in this video.

Awesome find! I'm glad to see the video and its perfect timing finding it the time of day you did. I remember last time i filmed this truck, it had a blue arm and it was real jerky. Part of the arm was leaning more than the other by the grabber area and the arm was slamming into itself when retracting. The driver told me he moved the joystick and it wouldnt move until a second or two after and when it did it was super fast and jerky. Glad it looks more smoothed out with this arm. I used to see this truck almost every Friday years ago when it was out by me and the driver was super chill!!
