In 1980, one wish was granted for Kim Hopper to meet Captain Kirk, which was on the set of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. This is sped up by 1500 times to represent what the 360fps the film was shot at would look like in reality. What is around 3 1/2 minutes long becomes just over 11 seconds! Blink and you'll miss it! PS there is no sound on this.

There was a different theme tune in series 1, but this was the best version!
I was a mega fan of the original series! ITV however have yet again decided to use Stephen Mulhern.. as if they don't have anyone else - along with Holly Willoughby. So have already ruined it. Ant and Dec would have been a better shout. They did a pilot years ago for a possible US version,but never came to fruition.
@markc8956 Agree, I'm not a fan of the Mulhern and Willoughby choice. They're on bloody everything. They could have really made the come back something special. But I think this is a pilot show of 2 specials to see how popular it is for a proper come back.
@markc8956 also, why the hell do they need 2 presenters for the revival? Matthew Kelly did the whole thing by himself. The similar format "Don't try this at Home" did have two presenters though, Davina McCall and Kate Thornton. And at one time Darren Day.
@@neiluk2006 True! Although technically Ellis Ward,Diane Youdale (or Jet from Gladiators as we know her best) and Sarah Matravers were second hosts,even though they were mostly used for the location challenges.
I've watched the Netflix documentary on Saville. In part 1, they had an excerpt of this at the start in a montage of Fix Its. I actually thought this was the set of Star Trek II initially. Many a Mission: Impossible and Trek episode were made on the old Paramount backlot featuring buildings.
Have you got anymore you bet challenge theme music?
Excellent work Jason. This one was always my favourite nursing a hangover from the previous night at the Student Union . They did release the main theme on Weekend Records on CD and a couple of other compilations. This was all Standard / Bucks Music that published all of LWT's production music from 1985 onwards. Most masters exist for things like "Dempsey and Makepeace" etc , just not in the places they should be :).
I did manage to speak to Jonathan Sorrell about this and he can't track down any masters - at the time I contacted him he was trying to obtain them anyway for an the ITV Game Show Marathon, presumably that didn't come into fruition because the masters has been misplaced/lost. I've given up hope and just worked with I had - this is the best example that I could put together, but I'm using new audio software now and may be able to AI remove some of the background noises - so watch this space!

During the music challenge to identify a track in the first five seconds of its intro. Says confidently to Matthew Kelly: The Look of Love by ABC”. Matthew asks: “Let’s see if you’re right” (Poison Arrow by ABC plays, audience applaud assuming he has got it right). 1:33 plays. Matthew, sounding surprised informs the Audience: “It’s wrong!” I know it wasn’t ABC tracks, but this did happen on the one music challenge on the show, as Matthew seemed so genuinely surprised he got it wrong.
Using a JCB Digger, Tom will have 3 minutes to crack 5 eggs… whilst blindfolded. His colleague Alan will guide him via radio to each egg. If he knocks the egg onto the floor however he loses the challenge. Studio Audience place your bets now please. 63 say Yes, 37 say No.
Nostalgic, brings me back to my childhood on a Saturday night. They don’t make shows like this anymore
Hiya Jason.Have you had any further luck sourcing any further challenge musics at all ?
Not as yet - I do keep going back to episodes to see if I can lower my expectations and grab other beds - most of which have some form of background noise or sound
There is a section or two missing, but overall this is fantastic work.
The missing sections are due to unavoidable sounds which detract to the overall sound - so I made the decision to use what "clean" material I was able to gather. There is another possible almost complete version of this, but need to find some decent AI audio software to remove the unwanted noise
Thank you very much for making and sharing, and extremely well done for finding clips which don't have the audience noises all over them. I look forward to linking someone to this video, starting at 1:32, when they are the right person who has done something that truly deserves it.

Brings back great memories of Saturday evenings in the 90s. Sitting down with the family and guessing if they would do it or not. Became a Saturday evening tradition in my house lol.
This reminds me so much of Super Monkey Ball for the Nintendo Gamecube! It fits level music so much. I can just see myself rolling one of the monkeys across the stage as the timer counts down!

Have you got all the challenge music of you bet composed by Jonathan Sorrell?
Not all of them - I'm working from broadcast material and some will contain audience cheering and clapping, some will contain other sounds - so I'm being quite particular in trying to lift "clean" beds - the three here are the best I have currently, but working on others which I overlooked initially.

As it's now definite that the tapes have been lost, I have to be less "picky" about background sounds for beds, so potentially yes. I think there may be two others I can extract, but they won't be as clean as the three already here. I am working on a more complete version of challenge bed #1, which is more complete, but has some sounds over the top.

This music reminds me of the London Underground Piccadilly Line Train pulling Challenge at Northfields Depot on You Bet! this does.

Challenge Bed 4 will be the biggest challenge. I've only heard it three times. once in the bobcat challenge, one in the horizontal climber challenge and once in the firefighter car lift challenge.
Any challenge with the Red Devils parachute team also had that same theme too.

Hiya Jason.Thanks for uploading these.I'd been trying to locate sources for the pieces of music for AGES.Will you be to get the opportunity of uploading any more of the tunes that Jonathan Sorrell composed for You Bet at all ? David
I have attempted to find other “clean-ish” sources of the other beds but nothing I would be happy to call as good as these ones. I am currently going back through the episodes I have to see if I can be less picky about any sounds over the top that might work. There is one other bed which I have (was used for the trampoline challenge) which contains quite a few other sounds over the top, that’s my next one to try and piece together. I’m hoping I may get pipped to the post by Jonathan finding the originals (he has a tape from LWT but was unable to confirm what was on these). I’d even go so far as to say if they’re uncovered I’d be happy to licence them to release commercially

@@jasonwilliams7784 I don't quite know how you'd find people, but you could probably get a small crowd fund going to help with those licencing costs if that became a thing. It's such a brilliant music suite. Depends how much ITV care about the music from a 30 year old show I guess.

What year was this the aired 1979 or 80?
Haven't seen this since the original transmission when I was 7, really enjoyed seeing it again. The format of Jim ll fixit was good, shame about the host.
By host, I mean Savile not shatner.
He couldn't be sicker if he caught the macrovirus.
Nervous Disease Shatner has.
This girl was in my class at school and I remember her bringing in her Jim ill fix it badge and being very disappointed to find out the badge was plastic.
If that was her only disappointment, then she was one of the lucky ones Savile let go (because that's how such predators live with themselves).

Savile doesn't appear in the clip. However, one of the stars in the movie, Stephen Collins, was later outed by his ex-wife as a pedophile rapist.
