Tesla's New Referral Walkthrough & FAQ
If you're new to Tesla and want $1000 off Model 3/S/X/Y use this link www.tesla.com/referral/robert3199 and I can do a followup video on the credits.
Tesla Referral T&C: www.tesla.com/support/refer-and-earn
FAQ
Can I use the credits on an existing order?
You cannot, this only applies to new orders. Tesla will not retro apply this to existing orders. Some have mentioned they would try placing a new order if you have not had deliver yet and cancel existing.
Does this work on orders outside the US?
This does not currently work on sites outside the US. The Canada site for example still shows the old program and adding the update to the URL doesn't work
Does this make my purchase tax credit eligible if the $1000 puts me under the price cap?
I would confirm this with Tesla and your tax professional, though it appears it should since the purchase price on the Model 3 performance + referral credit with a $1000 option does put it under the 55k price cap
Tesla's Official FAQ
I want to join the Tesla community. How can I place an order using a referral link?
Have your friend send you their referral link using the Tesla app. Order the Tesla product of your choice from the referral link. After you place the order, benefits will appear as ‘pending’ for the referrer until the Grant Date.
Is there a limit to how many benefits I can receive?
Yes. There are limits to the amount of times you can receive each type of benefit:
Buyer - You can receive buyer benefits one time when you make your first purchase of a qualifying Tesla product through a friend’s referral link.
Referrer - You can receive referrer benefits up to 10 times per calendar year when a friend uses your referral link to purchase their first qualifying Tesla product through your referral link.
Loyalty - You can receive loyalty benefits 10 times over the lifetime of your account when you purchase additional qualifying Tesla products.
Note: If you have reached your referrer benefits limit, buyers who place their order using your referral link will not receive any buyer benefits.
What are the qualifying Tesla products available for purchase with a referral link?
The following products are available for purchase with a referral link:
Model S
Model 3
Model X
Model Y
How can I check if I am an existing customer and am already part of the Tesla community?
If you own one of the following products, you have already joined the Tesla community:
Model S
Model 3
Model X
Model Y
Cybertruck
Powerwall
Solar panels
Solar Roof
Note: If you transfer or remove all qualifying products from your account, you will not receive referrer benefits when your friend orders and takes delivery of their first Tesla product and you will lose any unredeemed referrer benefits in your account.
I have solar panels, Solar Roof and/or Powerwall. Can I use my friend’s referral link to receive referrer benefits for a Tesla vehicle?
If you already own a qualifying Tesla energy product as an existing customer, you cannot use a friend’s referral link. As a loyal customer, you can earn loyalty benefits by purchasing qualifying Tesla products in the Tesla app.
How do I use my referrer benefits?
Your referrer benefits will be added to your Tesla Credits which you can use to pay for Supercharging, a new vehicle purchase, any outstanding balance from a service appointment in the Tesla app or a Tesla Shop or upgrade purchase.1
To use your Tesla Credits, select ‘Tesla Credits’ as your payment method when making your payment.

If you live in a state that doesnt allow windshield tint go 70%. You wont get pulled over because it looks like factory tint. Its easy to see through it but you get the benefits of heat reduction and little more privacy. Been driving for 15years multiple cars in that span. I always do 70% on the windshield never had a problem even with cops right next to my vehicle. When you start going down to 50 or below it becomes really obvious your windshield is tinted. Just depends how petty the cops in your area are and if you draw attention to yourself when you drive. 60% you are still safe but you are borderline. Trust me windshield makes a big difference even going down 10% more. Especially if you have a dark interior.

Dude... people are weird, hating on EV cars because they are cars that people like? Everybody has their opinions, i don't hate on EV's, they are sometimes affordable and look good. But saying that they lack a "soul" isn't a good explanation, because personally there isn't a soul really, what you're referring to is the car's sound, the feeling when you drive it. And "real" or "nice" cars can be EV's too, you can't judge somebody just because they wanna be financially responsible with their OWN money, oh and half the comments that hate on EV's are probably underage children that don't even own a car, or wish of owning a 1000hp hellcat or something like that.. Yet they call us financially irresponsible.

    • @RobertSchmitt

@@slawnyfivemowiec I personally value these cars living in AZ being able to precool the car anywhere and inside my garage without gas fumes. Helpful on those really hot days and especially with dogs. Considering the BMW x5 phev as it seems to be the best of both worlds with all the EV benefits and long range for gas which would give me more range and stopping flexibility on road trips I take each quarter. Insurance is quite high. Luckily have never received any in person hate driving in this state over the past 5 years. Stepping on the accelerator pedal is still addicting every time 😁

@@skeletoncrew539You’re acting as if you personally pay extra for the sake of EVs. Your tax payments stay the exact same, money is simply being allocated to that purpose. I’d rather the money go back into Americans purchasing vehicles than funding other countries wars.

    • @Trucks_n_stuff
      @Trucks_n_stuff 19 днів тому

@@RatimirK you aren't wrong. Personally, I dislike electric vehicles because they lack soul. You can't really do any repairs yourself, and they are all essentially identical. You aren't gonna go and buy a used EV because the battery capacity gets fucked and the range is way worse. You can't really upgrade them because the software is pretty bitchy about even the slightest issue. And until Tesla starts using solid state batteries instead of lithium, or some other alternative with a less drastic environmental impact, not to mention minimizing the use of plastics in the interior. I've also never had a more boring experience than when I was in my grandfather's model S plaid. The acceleration is ungodly, but just normal every day driving is boring as fuck. The noise cancelling interior speakers annoy me and for how many speakers it has, it has really poor fidelity. The seats are decently comfortable I suppose. The process of internal combustion has been advanced in the wrong direction. Internal combustion engines have so far to go, as do transmissions. Lighter, stronger materials, increases in efficiency of combustion and the flow of intake and exhaust. The only genuinely difficult thing to understand on a car is the transmission, and even then almost any moron could eventually figure out how to tear it apart and rebuild it. Pretty much every car manufacturer has been focusing on cutting costs and producing and sourcing inferior products for pennies on the dollar. There is no incentive to advance because people will continue to buy them and get the "next best thing" that breaks down sooner and costs a ridiculous amount to repair, with more and more not under warranty. The real issue regardless of what market you look at is the consumer. It's the people willing to buy and support companies that deliver a shitty product, sometimes only for the sake of brand loyalty. It's kind of a disgusting concept isn't it, being loyal to a brand, a company simply because you "like how it looks" or "what the company represents". Anyways, I like what works, reliably and consistently. I like what is cheap to repair. The only vehicle I will buy, is a vehicle made before the year of 2007. Preferably from the 90s on back. 60s, 70s, 80s, anything. My current trucks are a 1997 k3500 and a 2004 Silverado 1500. The 04 gets 20 miles to the gallon, I can carry 1700 pounds in the bed, it has a V8 engine that sounds nice and produces more than enough power, and it already has 200,000 miles on it. It has defects, dents, a little rust, a tear on the seat, a small chip in the dash, and a slightly saggy headliner. It's kind of human in a way; to think of something as more than the sum of its parts. How about instead of cutting the actually useful metals from the earth and making literally every part of the car from materials derived from petroleum, we go back to leather and felt and natural sustainable materials? There are way more than enough old vehicles to support millions more people, why not rebuild them and make them better, why not recycle what we already have and use the materials that would be used for electric cars and more gas cars for greater pursuits, shit that actually matters to creating a sustainable future. Do you realize how stupid it is to say "oh look at me, I have a different kind of car that's better for the environment" when the entire concept of a car is wasteful as fuck? You're falling for the same old fucking trick to keep supporting the market, it's ridiculous. You aren't gaining anything but another way to sit on your ass for hours on end, destroying your body and your circulatory system, encouraging poor posture. The basic point of travel is the transportation of matter, why not cut out the middle man entirely? Teleportation, replication, star trek shit. All technically possible. Why not take a step, and be wherever you want? Why not take to the stars, where resources are abound of all kinds, a single large asteroid contains a staggering amount of resources, none of which we would have to take from our planet. We're such a self destructive race.

@@RatimirK Everybody in the US is having to pay extra for the sake of EV's, why should taxpayers have to help pay for rich peoples cars? It's the leading cause of inflation which hurts those that can least afford it. Instead of racking up nearly $2 trillion in debt each year the government should try to balance the budget. BTW I'd never damage an EV charger or anything else for that matter and I condemn it completely, but I think that may be a reason.

Is this setting still there to use the grid to charge your power wall? Do you know if you’re still able to do this with the Tesla power wall three? The sales rep had told me that it couldn’t be done. I don’t know if he’s right because someone else told me something different?

Bought a pair of these on Amazon from another company. Very similar probably all made in China. Just 3 months after installing (everything was great) removed to do a tire rotation and discovered that they had scratched every rim on every spoke plus the two on the right wheels all had stress cracks on clip on every pair of clips (there are 7 of them). One even broke off completely. Contacted the manufacturer and surprisingly he gave me back a full refund. He admitted that the plastic that they've been using isn't elastic enough however they are currently working on a new batch that should be available in December. Have you pulled yours off yet? And if so what happened.

@@craigwflys I pulled off another set but not these specifically. No issues ( arachnid style). Maybe it softens in AZ heat

I live in an extremely sunny area... My rear and side windwos are 10% tinted (darkest available, it's a mirror from outside impossible to see inside), I don't see a shit at night except mirror and in closed parking lots I have to open the windows to see... It protects extremely well, doesn't allow sun to get inside at all... I plan to tint the front windshield but I am worried about whether or not seeing properly...

      @RobertSchmitt Місяць тому

@@Phoenix.Douglas yeah I would not do that dark in front . It's important for pedestrians to see you too from outside. 50% is a nice combo of heat rejection and visibility. Darker parking lots I also sometimes roll the window down too with my 20%

Arizona has one of the highest pedestrian fatality rates in the country. When drivers tint their windshields it is impossible for pedestrians and cyclists to make eye contact with the driver before crossing in front of them in a crosswalk at a red light.
