Started 03/27/2023 ~ Ended 09/28/2023 Umineko is a story that was recommended to me by a friend, and to this day I am glad to have met that friend. While I cannot claim to fully grasp every facet of this story, nor fully relate to the struggles of some of the characters, I am but young. Yet I am still human. While I found myself unable to fully grasp some parts of the story, the themes, the sad, beautiful music, the superb character writing, every ounce of love poured into this fictional masterpiece, all of it touched the deepest corners of my heart. Umineko is a story that reminded me of just how far away I am from becoming the most excellent writer the world has ever known. Though it is also a goal. I hope to one day weave and craft a story as beautiful and as soul touching as Umineko; When They Cry. I shall spin a tale as great or perhaps even greater than this. And I shall dedicate that tale to my Beloved Witch, Beatrice.
I wouldn't say I like to listen to this song because it fills me with sadness every time I listen. But I still keep doing that, even though it makes me heartbroken. The song is like a love letter, from the stupid one who loves a witch who does so many things to make that stupid one understand her. "In the story that I wrote, you can fly in freedom Let me cast my final spell So your light may not know the darkness" The part always hit me hard... Write a story for your loved one, a tale that she will be happy as much as possible. It makes me cry whenever I think about that. Their relationship and their love left a bittersweet taste for me. I am filled with happiness when think they will be together and forever in their land, the Golden Land. And yet, I also feel hurt when remember their tragedy, the long road they have been through to the end. I was in winter vacation, while i was in winter vacation, i was planning to complete Plants vs Zombies again, however, when i tried to pass the level 4-9 of pvz, i failed, yet again, i didn't give up, until i decided that enough was enough, after that, i decided to read and play umineko... Little did i know, that i was about to open a path that will change my life forever... And...when i finished the Visual Novel(I got the Trick Ending)...i didn't get the possibility of witnessing this majestically made soundtrack.... But as for now, im planning to read this visual novel, again.... If only i was playing in the perfect time to play this again..... Rest in Piece... My beloved Witch, Beatrice

Rest in peace Beatrice, your noble name shall be praised for centuries to come, Umineko is a true masterpiece, there are better written literatures and all, but umineko is the best one at interacting with the heart, that's my truth, whether it be red or golden, even as a person who doesn't believe in magic, umineko truly touched my heart, I symphasized with certain characters more or less near the earlier episodes, but in the end, i learnt to treat everyone equally, loving every character, and respecting each character's principles, existence and morals, Not only umineko, but higurashi as well, Thanks for making me who i am, May we meet again, when something cries.
The thing that umineko really hammered home for me was how important “heart” really is both in stories and in life. “Without love it can’t be seen” really is one of the most profound and mentality changing lessons I’ve gotten in my life. It’s like you said, it might not be the “objectively best thing ever written” or “objectively perfect” but when you love the series like I do, who gives a shit?
I recently finished the VN and am now done with the Manga. Like in higurashi, the author shows his talent to make the characters sympathetic, despite their very serious flaws. Made me more patient with other people. Hurray, character growth!

As the original is gone, I will rewrite my old comment: Finished 05/08/2022 - Umineko is the epidemy of a masterfully written story that touched my very soul and resonated with me on such a deep level. This piece covered the most unique themes in the most unique way possible. I will never ever experience such a masterpiece again. From the plot, dialogue, characters, CG's and music everything was masterful. Even if the journey took me over 150 hours it was well worth it. The last episode, Twilight of the Golden Witch was a perfect conclusion with every piece coming together. Umineko is one of the series that peaks and dominates any genre it covers, be it mystery, phantasy or romance. This is truly one of the peaks of peaks I have read. Thank you Ryukishi07, for creating this tale, a small and fragile tale… Of the deepest depths of the darkest shadow, where a faintly glowing golden rose rests. ~Rest in peace, my beloved witch, beatrice.
