My pin charger melted when it touched my metal legged desk. tried to find a replacement but the aftermarket pins didn't exactly fit well enough for continuous charge. I'm planning to make this from the ill-fitting charging cable. Thanks and I'll let you know if successful. A genius idea.

I just need to charge my Garmin Descent MK2i till I get my Cable back, not sure if the pinouts are the same but where did you get them from? Edit, found my old spare Descent MK1 spare cable and chopped the Plastic to charge :-)
