I went ahead and purchased this boot as a replacement for some RW shoes that disintegrated on the soles. I liked those shoes, they were light, steel toed, and still looked good after 7 or 8 years, but the blow molded soles seem to have a shelf life and when they fail it's not good around mesquite thorns. The full cost of the RR SAP621 was $128.88, the price had gone up, $109.54 with the veteran discount through govx link. I don't wear a wide shoe, so we'll see if they are true to size for my foot. Follow up: I wasn't expecting these this fast but they showed up today and they fit true to size, wiggle room in the toes, good support around the ankles and comfortable to walk in. Almost makes me want to come out of retirement. Almost. Update: I've been working on the two properties wearing these SAP621. I've noticed the speed hooks rotating and the tongue leather thickness on one is thinner than the other, but other than that, they are holding up fine. I've done fence work, lawn work, vehicle maintenance, and six hours of driving to the other property and back to mow and trim. No regrets on this purchase and no problems with comfort.

Came across your channel because I'm searching out boots that can be repaired vs throwaways. We had a hurricane come through a month ago and it did a number on trees in the area. While I was cutting up a tree for a few hours, the Carhardts, which I hadn't worn but maybe 10 times in the past 10 years, decided to do a sole disappearing act on me in the middle of the task. They couldn't be repaired due to the design according to the local cobbler. What a waste of a good upper and they were fairly comfortable with the soles intact. Lesson learned, welt construction only from here on out. Retirement doesn't give reimbursement on work shoes/boots and stomping on a shovel barefoot ain't an option. Your channel is helpful, I've considered the SAP621 and will probably get a pair to stick in my truck at least for emergencies.

Your review led me to spend a few bucks and get a brand I’m comfortable with. $100 for a pair of boots is cheap in comparison, but for us big boys who can’t get more than a few months out of a pair no matter what brand or price, always looking for a cheap - easy to break in- comfortable and light boot that are at least somewhat waterproof and can get me through a few good months of hard wear. Glad I didn’t waste time and money on these.

I have one of those, I like them but ya I agree with the complaints.

I tried golden fox as well and I will never buy them again. I got them on sale for $50 and I didn't like them at all. For mine the sole didn't even last a month.

So you didn't get socks with them? So far every rockrooster I ordered came with a pair of socks. So guess they stopped doing that ?

That is the one that looks like Die hard boots. The only difference is the sole.

If you do get them resoled send them to Trend and heath. They are the cheapest that I could find and they have a youtube channel. Also I have both the stitched insole and none stitched insole from rock rooster and they feel almost the same in the boots I have used them in. I mean there is some difference but they are still the best insoles on the market.

Just ordered these! I use to always wear the diehard but there almost impossible to find now in steel toe and over 200$, I hope I like these I’m wondering if I should of got the vibrum model

Rockrooster is pretty good. As comfortable as good running shoes. I gave the Norwood a shot based upon Rose Anvil's review.

The issue with Chinese products is that they have a stigma of being terrible quality and stuff, but if you look, you will find some great Chinese made products (just like anywhere in the world quality is a sliding scale) look into Luos Jiet or maybe Grant Stone if you want date night boots. If you want the highest end Chinese boots XBXSboots, however, these are more European stylings.

I bought a soft toe version and it is a good winter boot. Kept my feet dry in slushy water in MN.

Whatever you do don’t try Thorogood boots. They’ll make you throw your other boots in the trash…😂😂😂

What is the matter with not having hook eyelets? They slow you way down when you ty your shoes.
