    Just got an AO Smith water heater. The part that everyone skips over is the cold/hot water connection. I took out the blue "plug" but I noticed that the blue insert is kept in. Now I'm wondering if it will leak or what the function of the blue insert is.

    What about 2×3 tubing like 11ga. Or since tubing is stouter than pipe could u use a light wall like 14ga so 2x3 light wall. Btw seen ur video of the Jenkins boom. Way cool. Never knew about those. But ive built two booms, one that could mount on tractor hay spheres with chain rigging, and another 14ft mounted on a skid steer attachment plate. Cool videos chief

    Question why leave the hardware where someone from the alley could potentially unscrew a section of your wall and get into your backyard and take what they want large items included?? I would think the hardware would be the interior so nobody could undo a section of your wall… building a fence right now was wondering

    • @harleynightster12
      @harleynightster12 4 місяці тому

      Thats a good question. So since we typically use 2x4x16, they would have to unscrew 24 screws, by that time , someone would likely hear them. Another reason is just because thats how its done around here, in the ally, the pretty side faces the yard for yard ascetic. It looks tacky the opposite way. If the backyard fence was exposed where its seen from the front street instead of the ally, It would be the oposite. Hope that makes sense

      Look brother, the metal frame is to keep the wood panneling from warping and twisting and sagging as it would in west texas heat. The wood is to complete the same look as the rest as my client asked for. An all metal gate wouldnt look good here nor would it work the way we designed it, to make it look seamless and hidden from a distance considering this is a elementary school and the kids play beind this fence This is an absolutely flawless, and beautiful gate if you saw it in person. Im sorry you feel how you do. But thank you for your input.

      Cedar pickets and whitewood or commonly called studs for the 2x4x16s. Post spaced every 8ft, and the screws are called lag screws to screw the 2x4s to the post brackets.

    Question,what size breaker/amps does it take?

  • @everythinghomerepair1747
    @everythinghomerepair1747 9 місяців тому

    As an electrician I must say you have some serious electrical issues with the install. That yellow wire is nowhere near big enough to power 5500 watt elements like your heater says it has. Also, what size is the circuit breaker? Wire that size should have a 20 amp maximum breaker installed and I’m surprised it’s not tripping. That tells me someone may have put a bigger breaker and if you continue to use it like that the yellow wire will have a meltdown. Also you need a proper connector to connect the wire to the tank. I recommend replacing that wire with orange cable and a 30 amp breaker which is rated for the load. If that’s not feasible you can probably buy elements that a rated at less wattage and install them in the tank and replace the breaker with a proper 20 amp at the same time.

    to anyone making one of these, consider welding a crossmember where he has the hooks for the chains and welding a loop in the center of the crossmember for a hook and pulley. then a winch on one side of the bed with a cable run thru the pulley and attached to the opposite side of the bed will allow the tension to be distributed onto both sides of the truck bed equally. also used to retract the poles

  • @toddt6592

    Nice video. Not picking it apart, but you should refer to the track tension guide to make sure you don't over tighten those tracks. With the tracks off the ground, you should be able to slide 2 fingers in between the center rollers and the track.

    • @harleynightster12
      @harleynightster12 11 місяців тому

      Thank you ! If you pause at 10:42, i did check it with 4 fingers between the track and carrage, which was 2 fingers under the center rollers! Same result, different method! But your comment will definitely help others since i didnt really explain that.

      Because of safety reasons. Diamond plate is thin metal, 14 guage to be exact. If i were to have some sort of accident, there could be a possibility of the poles ripping the Diamond plate where it would have been welded.
