2:28 ex truck 14 was the last ladder tower 3 had before it became tower 3 in 2003. Unfortunately that tiller has been scrapped along with the old tower
Man when i run cranes they were not that nice i was employed at w.o grubb 25 years ago billy you are the man
the old DCFD tucks were so much cooler
The old DC trucks are cooler then the new ones
It's a Cadillac Escalade
Working fire box the the 4th...E24 1st due.
Чё он там падонны с кирпичем подавал?
How often is Truck 5 the philly reject in the shop?
I will love to have that
Now thats a jib. Ide like to see the price tag on that rig. For anyone who hasnt seen the automatic counter weight deal, thats pretty cool itself and alot better than lifting them with the boom. That thing probly wieghs300,000 lbs or more.
why are you not making videos anymore
Growing up in Northern Ohio, fire department's had chains on tires unhooked. If not needed truck drove away; if needed, driver snapped them shut. This must be too old fashioned for modern fire departments, at least in the DC.
Very poor traffic management and safety
This place looks very familiar lol...thats the barry farm projects here in Washington DC...how in the hell did he roll that trash truck right there out of all places???
Can I have it
Has someone employed just to chrome the wheels...
A happy Bambi yep 😂
A happy Bambi that’d be the “Oiler” his immediate job is to assist with the rigging in and out of the crane, once setup is complete he’s pretty much a glorified detailer taking care of the rig and operator
kingpin will broken. Not same time.
VERY difficult to break a kingpin this way unless it was already damaged. Textbook recovery
what was he hauling. garbage.
Lil Devil yep he is hauling c&d which is construction debris...still garbage just not ur regular residential garbage! I hate hauling c&d bcuz its too many nails in it
Its a escalade
Eric wsmit douche bag
Not super familiar with the Seagrave aerials but most modern aerials will only alarm if the diverter valve is on the stabilizer side and not the aerial side. Even then it usually only alarms to let you know that it doesn't sense it's been fully stabilized. At a fire scene, It's a standard sound that goes away to let you know you've successfully planted the stabilizers when you're setting up for operations. Again this is my experience with h-frames stabilizer systems. Or if you did plant them well, but the weight has shifted due to the aerial being at a low angle or full weight, etc, you could get an alarm.
Really nice truck! Thanks for the videos!
I was a little surprised, the tow driver did not take twice the time to do double the amount of damage.... must be a rookie !
+eric wsmith hahaha!
How many fire investigators vehicles are there and what are there numbers like fiu1 etc. Dispatch may have a list of car numbers like what I'm thinking of
To every one who commented about my crappy filming well I am sorry if you did not like it or it made you dizzy. I am a firefighter not a camera man for a big movie production or news channel.
+Derwin Brown loved the sound & the Vid
+Derwin Brown I say "Fire Truck"....the video you shared is just fine. Awesome to see one of these machines up close. I wonder just how much $$$ that particular sized crane is worth?! Cheers my man and THANK YOU for the job you do on a daily basis! Cheers and Salute
that was some good filming
Thanks.
Thanks.
I was thinking it was more like Car 1 is Chief, Car 2 is Asst. Chief etc.
They were just moving my lounge suit
Hey do you have a list of Chiefs vehicles including current units, the COD, Car 1, etc. Post Ellerbe
StueyExMCFD You mean like the fire chiefs, they really aren't numbered we just go by the chief's name but battalion chiefs vehicles are numbered.
are u selling that truck
I saw an identical Chevy responding with (behind) an ambulance. But the one I saw had the license plate number 6563. Do you know for what it is/ was used for/ what exactly that vehicle is?
RTobi (Rummeltobi) We have 4 of them in the DCFD and we use one at our shop for service calls. They use to be used for fire hydrant inspection and services.
That seems like a lot of foolishness..,. Why not get every guy in the station to just come out, pick it off the trailer, and carry it into the storage bay... Those things only weigh 1000 to 1500#, so the big crane is totally unnecessary... About 8 - 10 guys would do it !!
+mailforward4me safety is the biggest reason. Plus they already own the tow truck, so work smarter not harder.
+Matt M Why would a Fire Department need to have their own Tow Truck ??
You will have to ask DCFD their particular reason for purchasing one, but this particular type of tow truck (known as a rotator) is a piece of rescue equipment more then it is a tow truck (think of it as a quick response heavy lifting crane). Im sure every fire department would have one if they could afford one.
+Matt M I doubt it.... A rotator is most definitely NOT a fire truck.... They cost over a million dollars, and only the largest and busiest towing and recovery companies can justify having one.... If a Fire Dept spends more than a million dollars on a piece of equipment to play with like this, that's more than a million dollars they don't have for a Fire Truck they actually need, and which would be used frequently to save lives.. It's pretty obvious that they are just playing here.... All they really needed to do was have the whole crew of firefighters lift it off the semi trailer, and carry it into the station... Honestly though... why drop it off at the station anyway, since it will probably need to be taken to the maintenance shop to be installed on the ladder truck. I kind of doubt that's something that can be done in-station...
+mailforward4me Why work harder when you can work smarter?
If this was a union job, this lift took 6 days, 1 million dollars and 3 dead employees but the job went off without a hitch....
And if you knew what the FUCK you were talking about, we would all be better off.
It is a Union job, W.O. Grubb only hires the BEST Union operators
How is DCFD coming I'm in ny and there is rumor down in south Carolina there manufacturing 160 new DCFD tankers engine and mutual aid units is it true
